  1. Are they available in the style you need? Not sure what the bulb collar means, but I see H4/H13/9004/9007 listed as options. These seem to be HI/LOW type bulbs. Since the Edge uses a shutter (right?) for high beam, would you be running LOW all the time, or HIGH all the time? Worth a phone call to vLED.
  2. Hope you can hit the 500,000 mark in this fashion
  3. The button feels fine mechanically though, right, not sticking or anything? I'd check all the turn signal bulbs to make sure they work consistently, and for codes (any major auto parts store should be able to do that free) that might give some clues. Now and then, pulling the negative battery cable and leaving it off for some time does wonders. Of course, then you have to allow time for the PCM to relearn your driving behavior and reset emissions readiness status (is that part of your inspection check?). If that does not work, the BCM may need to be reset or replaced.
  4. Welcome to the forum, and glad to hear the HIDs are working well for you Osram kit, by any chance? Pics of kit and/or install etc.?
  5. I think the real upgrade would be a 9006 HID kit based on this thread: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/13037-headlights-2013-sport/ From what I have read, HIR2 bulbs give you about 1800 or so lumens, while these "brigher" replacement halogens are not much better, at or under 2000 for sure. Still you could give the SS Ultra 9006 a go if you like. Additional reading: http://shnu.us/HIR%20Trimming%20A.htm
  6. Sure you don't have HID on the Sport? Halogens are listed in the OM as HIR2 or 9012. The Silverstar Ultras are listed only for: 9003/H4, 9004, 9005, 9006, 9007, H7, H11, H13/9008
  7. Welcome to you & your '13 Edge, garspeed! I hear houseboats are the norm over there
  8. Weak liftgate struts? That would be my first guess. I know on the manual liftgate (mine has that), the struts are not very strong, and it gets worse in colder weather.
  9. Sorry to hear about the bad experience with the dealership. I have run into this issue many a time, where the tech is unable to replicate the problem initially, and for many "wasted" return trips happen before the problem is solved. Some of it can be attributed to the electronics-heavy nature of the vehicle, some of it to a dealership's reliance on a code popping up to prove a problem exists. You might even hear, "Oh that's to be expected from this type of vehicle, it's an SUV"! General thoughts for anyone in this situation: First off, take a dealership (or anyone else's) diagnosis with a healthy dose of skepticism. Second, do your own research, you might get lucky with a TSB or two that kinda fits the issues you are experiencing (even if not exactly the model years listed). Ask around, there might be others who are/were in the same boat. Third, feel free to document & escalate the issue to Ford Customer Service directly (listed in owner manual). And lastly, try changing dealerships, maybe even try a Lincoln dealership instead. Better luck with Ford extended warranty than non-Ford, usually too! Good luck with the software update.
  10. Ask Benny at LevittownFordSuperCenter also, they show the part enigma found as available, maybe free shipping is still on?
  11. Probably have to go with a "universal" one (parts store or jcwhitney e.g.), I wasn't able to find a specific F250 application based on an internet search.
  12. Sorry you had to go through this, but appreciate your providing an option for others in similar situations. Let us know how this solution works out for you!
  13. Do you know if product availability is different for an out-of-pocket repair vs recall repair?
  14. Try this one, refers to a programming update/correction: http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/TSb/DownloadPdf?id=180484 or this more recent one: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/15688-2013-ford-edge-navigation/
  15. Welcome to the forum! I assume you are having issues with the gas tank, from your Interests byline? I believe Ford is getting around to addressing that issue now, but I would not wait to have it fixed. Have it done at the dealer, keep your receipts, file for reimbursement. It is not inexpensive (I have heard up to $2,000, mostly cost for the new tank), maybe the dealer can do financing for you. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/15219-gasfuel-tank-leak/ http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12839-serious-gas-tank-leak/
  16. In the case of my '07, I can confirm the rear dome (3 bulbs) and cargo bulb (1) are, as omar pointed out, 43mm festoons.
  17. Welcome to the forum, glad to have you & your '08 Edge here Pics of the outside/inside would be welcome
  18. When was your Edge produced, do you know? If in 2011 or early 2012, it would be perfectly normal (for a modern vehicle) to have a replacement in 2-3 years. I do believe batteries sold with the vehicle are somewhat underpowered, considering how much demand from electronics is put on them.
  19. Well, Ford DID have a stake in Kia before Hyundai came into the picture (way back when), so you could consider it family? Odyssey (no, not Honda) is the other battery I was looking at, for extra CCA capacity, heavy though.
