  1. Having the MAF sensor unplugged isn't a good idea, the vehicle was not designed to run smoothly without it. There are some transmission issues that Ford issued TSBs for where the remedy was the PCM programming being updated, worth a look. Any codes present? All replacement parts Motorcraft/Ford?
  2. purge valve is fuel only. oily smell i would look to the oil pan or oil pressure sensor, two of the most common areas of an oil leak.
  3. And availability for these plugs may be longer lived than the SP542s, but if you are an avid OCD plug changer, wouldn't be a bad idea to cough up some dough for a few sets at once.
  4. DSM = Diamond Star Motors (Mitsubishi) Welcome, CrackedDSM! I don't see a code U0145 (invalid data) listed for the ABS, maybe the connector is loose/dirty? What made you replace that particular sensor? Battery may be suspect also. EDIT: BTW, there is a recall on 2015-2016 MYs for the ABS, but as a result of faulty reprogramming https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zyqMRGwSUZua-4LUYrvs7cekxI2unH63/view?usp=sharing
  5. You may want to get the plugs from ford performance instead. These may work https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-12405-35T One discussion https://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php/topic,10409 https://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php/topic,10388 Loss of spark advance and slower 1/4 miles times among the reported issues.
  6. the sets are in stock, did you check rockauto.com?
  7. I don't have stats to share, but if going aftermarket, I like to stick to reputable manufacturers like Cloyes and Melling. You can find timing sets for your Edge on rockauto.com, summitracing.com, ebay, etc. Cloyes is about 1/2 the price of Melling for some reason.
  8. most ask to go the other way, in the dark of night as it were, lol.
  9. not sure exactly what you need, but hope these 2 links can help https://parts.levittownfordparts.com/v-2011-ford-edge--limited--3-5l-v6-gas/body--exterior-trim-front-door https://parts.levittownfordparts.com/v-2011-ford-edge--limited--3-5l-v6-gas/body--glass-front-door
  10. Please post some more info about your Edge. How many miles on it, what is the detailed maintenance history, did you replace all 4 or just the one injector, etc. A video of the problem at idle would also be very helpful. Is it only during startup, only when the engine is warmed up, or at any time?
  11. You seem to drive a lot, so it's not a lack of charging-while-driving. Do you use the battery a lot while the engine is off? Are the terminals tightly clamped on? Are you leaving anything plugged in, such as a dashcam or another device that draws power even with the engine off? What size battery is currently in your Edge? One workaround is to get the biggest battery possible, but it would just take longer to die off.
  12. while we await responses, check out yelp.com or repairpal.com or dealerrater.com. if you get lucky, a dealer is listed on multiple ratings sites and the ratings correlate
  13. Are you sure it's not Nougat Welcome, and best of luck with the new ride.
  14. Oil pans are not fun on modern fords. Are you sure it is not a turbo pipe that is leaking? They are notorious for cracking at the clamps or even coming loose. The blowby contained in the piping then leaks onto the engine, making it SEEM like an engine leak.
  15. ok, so that likely lets out exhaust vents, a/c system, and flex pipe. still would check on the ptu, and plumbing to/from the purge valve.
  16. have you ever replaced the cabin air filter / drained the evaporator drain? the filter is something easy to check. also do you experience the smell only on hard acceleration or at all times when climate control is in use?
  17. How many miles, and have you ever changed the PTU fluid? The smell is more like natural gas, but thought I would ask anyway. Might be a vent leak, axle seal leak, or output shaft seal leak. It could be a cracked flex pipe also, a common problem with gen 1.5 vehicles. If the exhaust relief flaps in the rear bumper are staying open, that can be a source of fuel smell also.
  18. Have you checked to see if there is oil in the intake tubing? Pooling oil is an indication that a valve cover needs to be updated, it is a pcv design issue. Are you using full synthetic oil? That can help clear up sludge around the piston rings, which can cause oil consumption.
  19. Do you have issues starting the engine after a fillup? If so, test the purge valve on the firewall, see if it holds vacuum. It may also be leaking if a vapor line is not clamped on tightly.
  20. FordTechMakuloco just posted a coolant video where he mentions the supposed life of the coolants. I think he also mentions that even if the newest coolant has an increased life expectancy, the recommended change intervals for your particular vehicle still remain in effect.
  21. Your dealer may be the exception, lol. Although my dealer offers BG fluid changes, I have never tried to avail for the PTU. Wonder if they would do it or turn me down when actually asked, lol.
  22. When you say gas, do you mean gasoline or natural gas? AWD or FWD? Only on heavy acceleration, or all the time? Was the Edge ever rear-ended?
