  1. Matching jacket for the Edge! You weren't kidding about the avalanche
  2. Welcome to the community, Shotgun, glad to have you and your "new" ride on board! That tri-white color is a headturner Any pics to show off your rides?
  3. I think for most people the real hangup is the A/C involvement. If that were not in the equation, it would be much more DIY.
  4. 01/29/2014 30,272 Atterson Tire Tire condition and pressure checked / Tire repaired Terre Haute, IN 812-238-2596 08/06/2014 33,113 Nick Mayer Lincoln Inc One tire mounted and balanced Westlake, OH 440-835-3700 nickmayer.com Same tire or not? IDK. Also, could there be a cracked wheel from the tire repair? IDK. 22" wheels? Make sure they will cover any leaking issues (there's a TSB out on this, but may not completely fix). Ventus option is summer only. Top-rated on Tire Rack though. Scorpion is all-season. Better off with the Yokohama Parada Spec-X.
  5. Congrats on the new sweet ride! Looking forward to what mods you have planned
  6. Welcome to the community, Mark, congrats on your '14 SE! How about some pics to show off your new P&J First Ford/previous rides?
  7. Tough situation! Maybe take it in to a trusted mechanic to check?
  8. Costco usually carries Kirkland or Interstate batteries in my experience, though that may vary by region. Higher CCA is no problem, a little larger & heftier than a standard CCA battery. Batteries in the same group size can vary in physical dimensions, so be sure to measure out your battery tray as well as vertical clearance. Here is an idea of Motorcraft & Interstate battery sizing: http://machenry.com/documents/batteryspecs.pdf http://www.interstatedealers.com/IBCatalog/common/automotive_spec.pdf http://www.interstatebatteries.com/content/product_info/auto_interstate_f.asp
  9. 11"? You mean more like 11.7" (almost 12") and 12.6" (almost 13"), right? There are no 11" brakes that fit the Edge that I know of.
  10. Welcome to the forum, and glad to have you and your '12 Edge here We have a few folks from AZ and TX who hang out here too! Got pics to share? Any mods? What other rides? Pics of 'em are welcome too!
  11. Sadly, yes, without installing a tap like the_natrix detailed. There IS a drain plug on certain vehicles (Taurus SHO PP/Interceptor for example) in the '13+ MYs, but not for the rest of us.
  12. Check the amp draw in accessory position. Must be huge to drain it in 10-15 minutes if the battery is otherwise sound. Besides, if the CCA is down to 480, that's almost 15% less than rated. 550 is barely enough to run everything as is, worse in cold weather. An option is to get one of those testers you can plug into the powerpoint that will continuously read Voltage so you can check at various times (engine off, key on engine off, key on engine running, driving around etc). Any accessory plugged into the power points on the vehicle? The ignition switch/headlamp switch could be faulty as well.T The specific mention of the 10 minute period also brings this up from the OM: Accessory delay With accessory delay, the audio system, power windows and moon roof (if equipped) operate for up to 10 minutes after the ignition is turned off or until either front door is opened.
  13. Torque Pro software on Android devices will let you monitor voltage reported by the PCM, not 100% accurate, but close enough.
  14. Definitely check for parasitic draw like akirby said. Unhook the negative terminal, connect an ammeter between the negative cable terminal and the negative battery post to see how much current is being drawn.
  15. Sounds like the rotors & pads that came with the Edge (Ford?) worked well for you. Look at the parts numbers stamped/printed on them to determine what you currently have. I think going OEM would be fine, just a matter of cost. If you want to upgrade the performance, you can go with StopTech or PowerStop brake kits (rotors/pads), but only if you are doing all 4 rotor/pad sets. You can also gain performance simply by using new OEM/Ford rotors with aftermarket pads like EBC Yellowstuff or Redstuff, Hawk HPS, etc. Like mac said, ceramics will wear down rotors faster, but provide a quieter and dustfree braking experience. Semi-metallics will save your rotors, but will be a bit noisier and dusty. The OEM/ford rotor/pad combination is a good compromise, as long as you are happy with the performance.
  16. Welcome, dbomb, great review! Sums up the Edge experience pretty well.
  17. Warranty-wise, Cardone & Wagner seem to offer the best. You want the semi-loaded ones if you are getting the pads separately. Listing taken from Rockauto: A-1 CARDONE Part # 18B5026A More Info {#7T4Z2B121C, 7T4Z2B121E, 7T4Z2B292A, 7T4Z2B293A} Reman. Friction Choice Caliper w/Bracket & Installation Hardware Front Left; AWD; with Phenolic Piston Caliper A-1 CARDONE Part # 18B5027A More Info {#7T4Z2B120C, 7T4Z2B120E, 7T4Z2B292A, 7T4Z2B293A} Reman. Friction Choice Caliper w/Bracket & Installation Hardware Front Right; AWD; with Phenolic Piston Caliper With Core Charges & Shipping would be about US $370. Don't know how you would return the core or what additional charges would be for that. If you can return the cores for substantially less than $108 (the value of the core charges), it would be worth returning the old calipers. You should contact Benny at our forum sponsor, LevittownFordSuperCenter, to see what they can do. On their website, the estimated with UPS International cost is US $235.
  18. Takes me back to the arrival of Nautilus equipment at the big ole gym So neat to work at a place like this! Do they operate by clean room standards? CNC machining on site? I see you are exercising your mechanical skills already And covered bike parking to boot! Yeah!
