soft brakes after multiple parts replaced
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Mustangfreak's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
I think you will find that you will at least need to bleed the ABS, if booster replacement does not work. Slowly, the cases for ABS module failure are building for the gen 1.5 vehicles. Forscan Lite will allow you to bleed the ABS yourself. BUT you need to follow up and bleed the main system afterwards to completely remove air from the system. Otherwise they will cycle back into the ABS. If after all this, you still have soft pedal, replace the ABS module. Expensive but necessary. And regularly flush brake fluid. The ABS components are sensitive to fluid contamination/breakdown. -
Woo Hoo! Let's get it done!

The 2011 MY is a straight mileage counter. 2012+ will adjust based on data the computer can collect such as number of starts, engine run time, engine idle time etc. I would think based on the OEM recommended oil for the engine, such as Motorcraft synthetic blend 5W20.

awd always leads to questions about ptu fluid level and condition. mileage?

Definitely consider maintenance and upkeep. How many miles on your Edge? Have spark plugs ever been changed? What about transmission fluid? Do you have a carfax or service records?

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Maybe a Taser rigged to the alarm system? Sorry to hear that your Edge was violated, Xtra. Damage or no, it is an unsettling feeling. -
already answered in your previous post @buck69j

Super nice!

should be a dropin replacement physically. IDK if there are any parameters in the PCM that would need updating to optimize.

Almost done with engine swap, where does this wire go?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Fordworth's topic in 3.5L
what happens when you try to start it? does it just click? if it cranks but does not start, engine may be flooded. any smell of gas after cranking? if so, hold gas pedal to the floor to cut off the injectors while cranking. Could also need the inertia switch reset if it has been rear-ended prior to your purchase. are the vehicle and fob batteries fresh? are the keys matched to the vehicle? if the vehicle has been sitting for some time, could be the keys are no longer matched to the vehicle and the PATS system light will flash rapidly to indicate this. you will either have to get new fobs OR reprogram the fobs to the vehicle before it can be started. -
That I am afraid you will have to find out firsthand. There's always a little left out in the shop manual ... Or there might be a video or two on YouTube.

Almost done with engine swap, where does this wire go?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Fordworth's topic in 3.5L
the power steering pressure switch is a single green wire connector. one end goes to the pump, the other to the PCM. The CHT sensor is 2 wire, so that may not be it. Where the connector is able to reach should help provide a clue. Does the wire come off the harness running across the engine/in front of the fuel rail/intake manifold? -

cylinder head temperature. may be that you do not have enough posts in this forum to upload pics? what happens when you try to upload/where are you uploading from? There is a "test" topic that you can use to get post counts up if that is what is needed. -

Car won't accelerate when pressing the gas
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to oldtownroller's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
Very likely lol. Or sold the vehicle, as is quite common. -
If the vehicle starts and runs with no issue, you mean the battery is remaining fully charged? How are you starting the vehicle otherwise? If you get a digital tester like the Solar BA9, you can check the battery and alternator to see if there is a problem with either/both. I assume you used Motorcraft/Ford parts, new? Was the testing by a parts store and on the bench or in vehicle? Definitely start with a close inspection of the fuses at the positive terminal, cables for signs of corrosion, etc. As omar mentioned, there might be codes in the system also that would help pinpoint the issue.
