  1. Here's a recent article in Motor Magazine that explains leak detection in EVAP systems: http://www.motor.com/magazine/pdfs/032015_6.pdf Motor Magazine_March 2015_OBEYING THE LAW-NATURAL VACUUM EVAP LEAK DETECTION.pdf
  2. Move on folks, rolled over the dead body enough times already! carguy, will you be doing Blackstone oil analysis at filter change time to see how your Edge is doing?
  3. Follow the video. There is a set of instructions (text/pics) on this forum if you want to look at something a bit different, but hopefully no need, and no confusion
  4. Anyone know of any standardized, multi-brand oil filter testing? I see filter media/construction comparisons (by individuals) most of the time. I did see an old old Swedish study ranking filters by flow rate/holding rate/when the bypass opens etc, but that's about it.
  5. WD40 should not be used if you want a longer term fix. Electronics do not need oil lubrication, which is what WD40 provides. Use MAF sensor cleaner or electronics cleaner instead.
  6. The owner's manuals are available online. For 2011: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/catalog/owner_guides/11edgog3e.pdf Scheduled maintenance starting on pg 374. Pg 379 has additional info.
  7. Motorcraft filters have repeatedly proven their worth over time, and are relatively inexpensive. Here's a quick look inside from Ford: http://www.fordparts.com/Products/Filters-OilFilters.aspx One of the major reasons to use MC is the location of the silicone ADBV, which minimizes dry starts.
  8. Are you planning to put the 2011 through a "crash course" or something, mac?
  9. Get 'em where you can ... Probably not enough volume for Summit.
  10. How about changing oil filters multiple times on an extended drain interval full synthetics? Top off the oil each time.
  11. Oh good, I won't have to dig up anything, but I will have to figure out how to get past that cute sentry!
  12. Cost of part and labor, packaging is the name of the game these days.
  13. I thought Ford parts now have a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty? And no way I'm shortening my name, I just don't subscribe to that theory of life I can try to PM you the PDF, let's see.
  14. Did you search the forum? IDK if you will find the exact answer you need, but this is one with good info: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/5393-my-pioneer-avh-p4200dvd-installation/?do=findComment&comment=41799
  15. Welcome to the community, laker! How about a little backstory for you & your Edge Pix if you got 'em
  16. Not that this helps, but tech specs from Ford 2015_Edge_Tech Specs.pdf
  17. Dang, I need to come over there and nab your Edge ... along with some fresh kimchee!
  18. So what are your current mpg's looking like now, Cellbine?
  19. Does sound like a tie rod to me ... Did they align the Edge before giving it back to you?
  20. The 2007-10 don't have IOLM (except, as mac says, in our heads), so it is better to read the owner's manual carefully and decide whether normal- or severe-duty fits your schedule. You won't go wrong with severe-duty in either case, but it may not be necessary. Use a good oil and filter regardless to help prevent deposits from building up on the innards. Think of it as taking care of your pearly whites
  21. I think Metra and Scosche also make adapter kits for the Edge, haven't had the opportunity to use one though.
  22. You could probably go wider, but Tirerack feels 8.5-9.5 inches is the range for 22" wheels: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/results.jsp?&autoMake=Ford&autoModel=Edge+Sport&autoYear=2011&autoModClar=AWD&filterFinish=All&filterSize=22&filterBrand=All&filterSpecial=false&filterNew=All&filterWeight=All&sort=Brand Use the "Add to Cart and Shop for Tires" button to figure out which tires are available/recommended for that wheel. Usually, CUV tires are what you are looking for, for example: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=CSTAS
  23. Suspension/steering problems are inevitable with collisions like that. Hopefully it's just some nuts/bolts that need to be torqued to spec. Any symptoms like wandering or clunking or clicking etc.
