  1. Did you have the dealer check the halfshaft per TSB. At least we can rule it out if it checks out. Missed the alignment pdf this time, lol.
  2. glad the brake work fixed the SW oscillations, i would have thought alignment issues instead. type of tire can also make a difference with uneven roads. Do you have pre/post alignment spec sheets to share? noise travels. if it indeed started after the brake work, that is where i would start. maybe the shims on the pad are installed incorrectly. since there is no torque involved, hard to blame it on one of the mounts. ChassiEARS or similar tool would trace it quickly. IDK if the shift switch could be causing it or not, no one has reported as such.
  3. I would make sure to exercise it regularly, yes, even in winter time. Beyond that, check on the belt/tensioner, check refrigerant/PAG oil level, leaks. IDK if you can do more. Don't dress the belt, change it.
  4. avoid a 2.0 built in Cleveland/420 lot looking forward to details on your new ride!
  5. A lot if not all the connectors use locking tabs. There is a red clip underneath the MAF sensor connector that you first need to pull out towards you to unlock the connector. Then you can pull the connector out as normal. When reinstalling make sure to push that tab back in once the connector is in place. If there is no red tab, there may be a tab you depress and hold to unlock the connector while removing it. Should self lock once the connector is all the way back in.
  6. there is at least 1 video on the channel linked above that shows you how to test the coil, apart from the usual visual indicators in the Ford TSB. You can also swap 1,2,3 with 4,5,6 and if 5 fails, you know that coil was bad. easy to replace because it is now out in the open.
  7. Money talks i guess lol. But the RXP system is top notch, just most people won't need it on the transverse engines.
  8. You can read more about the PCV system in the Motorcraft OBD documents available at https://www.motorcraftservice.com/FreeResources/OBD
  9. given the MY and the symptom, there is a high probability the throttle body is at fault, assuming oil level/filter/weight are all good. cheap to toss one in there. idle control functions are integrated into the drive by wire electronic throttle body. could also need a good cleaning of the MAF sensor (near airbox) and throttle body. if the sensor has lost low range sensitivity, it will influence the idle, but I think the PCM would raise rpms to compensate, or maybe not. the maf sensor is RAREly at fault tho. clean it with MAF Sensor Cleaner or Electronics cleaner. CRC brand s what i use.
  10. Ford should be metering the cleanside on ecoboosts to prevent blowback, the most benefit is always from the dirty/PCV side of the system. RXP will maximize results of course, but the JLT system should do quite well. Make sure it is easy to drain, as that is a required maintenance point. Mount catchcan to fender area or similar "cold" location in the engine bay. Otherwise summertime "catch" will be low yield compared to winter.
  11. What year? Mileage? If maintenance done at Ford specified intervals, well ... 2 times it has stalled. adding oil resolved both times? I would check for codes, not all codes show up as a check engine light. Normally I would point to throttle body, as that is a common reason for stalling, but really it could be anything. Throttle body codes are erased upon successful restart, so it would behoove you to get a cheap OBD adapter + Forscan Lite software to read codes before attempting a restart.
  12. how many miles on your Edge, and what is the maintenance history? could be pulleys/bearings and/or tensioner, for instance. any issues with climate control or battery health?
  13. Welcome, and congrats! Get all the maintenance done (fluids, plugs, etc), and get a headstart on a long and happy relationship
  14. That's what they make neighbor kids and riding mowers for! TSB 17-2219 does cover gen 2 Edges, so I suspect yes. GT4Z-3F988-B https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Fd9AruEDRLarbrLUFPUsHTma_sjLyGpY/view?usp=sharing prices have gone up substantially since the intial release. May be time to get your own Omron switch lol.
  15. yes, definitely. CELs are really for important (as defined by Ford) issues. So a lot of codes slide under the radar, as they may be transient, or just not that important in the scheme of things. Then the event has to happen regularly and often enough to pass the minimum threshold for a code to get set.
  16. firewall side of engine, middle cylinder. if coils and plugs are done, assuming motorcraft brand, it could be an injector. depending on mileage, could be a candidate, once the coil and plug are verified. coil is likely ok, but the occasional faulty plug even with motorcraft has popped up. this might help also on his other Edge, ultimately a failed spark plug was at the root of the misfire.
  17. welcome! yeah, codes are the first place to start, because of the extensive computer controls on your Edge. if the prolonged crank is right after fillup, that is a classic purge valve failure Much more common on 2011+ MY vehicles than 2007-2010. I think electronics went into hyperdrive in 2011 LOL.
  18. awd or fwd? power steering high pressure hose is the most likely culprit. on awd vehicles, it can leak between the trans and the PTU. passenger side. driver side, it is most likely the cv axle where it goes into the transmission. a few cases of the main control cover and torque converter housing leaking also.
  19. how many miles on your ride, @Edge-y? have you checked codes? is the security light flashing at normal or fast speed? has the purge valve ever been replaced/does the issue happen after fillup?
  20. This is all I got - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wp8j2h7Dxa_KJ9R3CCMAsiq23Upd1SO4/view?usp=sharing pg 251+ and this
  21. Welcome! 2008 is a prime candidate for the vicious cycle of plug-coil-pcm. Also failed trans sensors such as the TSS and OSS. So I would a) change plugs and coils, and b) all fluids as soon as possible.
