  1. I think the dealership has its' back up at this point, for whatever reason, not that I believe they are particularly competent from what you are telling me. Warranty work doesn't pay as well as regular service anyway, so they will generally do the minimum needed (it's business, right?). I really don't think Ford can control a dealership's actions to any great degree unless they are so outrageous as to be disenfrachised completely. Now, I think you are justified in requesting the dealership to send a Ford engineer down to inspect your vehicle. And if they refuse, work with FordService to get one down there. I am sure the engineer can figure out how to get your Edge fixed correctly.
  2. We are seeing the need for fluid exchange at most every 25K on the SHO, but it has quite a bit more demand put on its' PTU due to performance-oriented nature. There is some speculation that an incorrect factory fill is contributing to the problem.
  3. Revved up with anticipation over here! Best of luck with all these fixes, you are working MG overtime
  4. Yeah, you are caught in this insanity, feel for ya! At least they gave you a decent sized rental, many people are stuck in sub or sub-sub compacts True, no substitute for the Edge. Will they at least put it under cover or something? Or will you have to go there weekly to wash & wax it?
  5. Most likely the multifunction switch is bad and needs replacement. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/17087-wipers-stuck-on-intermittent/?do=findComment&comment=123058
  6. How much is the fee they are asking? If they find something covered by warranty, they probably will waive the fee and you will pay deductible if any.
  7. Did the dealer check with ford to see if there is a software update for the camera that might fix the issue? Any other dealerships (including Lincoln) that you can try? I had hoped some folks from NJ would chime in on places to try for good service.
  8. So you had more than 50K on the Edge before the PTU issues happened? The PTU issues do seem to not have been resolved. It might be as simple as extending the vent into the engine bay, and adding a bit more fluid, or it may take regular change intervals of say 25K - 30K miles.
  9. Do you have a link to this player, Feirstein? Would like to upgrade my system at some point, and would be nice to get the hirez in play
  10. Whatever you do, document it for the forum. It's a rule around here
  11. Sounds like a memory seat/mirror function. Do you have that feature on your Edge?
  12. May be why there is a delay in supply of new-design tanks as well.
  13. Sometimes they update and move stuff. Such as with owner manuals online. May re-appear in a day or two. Definitely could be more communicative/user-friendly in their change management.
  14. Do document everything, whatever costs related to this issue especially for later reimbursement. Contact Ford Canada, do they have a Lincoln Canada? Lincoln is worth trying if Ford doesn't work out. You should lodge a complaint with Ford regardless so they can't say they didn't know about it. I can't find aftermarket tanks either right now for the Edge, but will keep looking. Is cross-border pickup an option for you? Otherwise Levittown can ship to CA.
  15. Nice! Torrie is one of a kind when it comes to tuning & customer response
  16. Apparently, it's not a "fatal" error for the stock tune to have this particular category of code, so the vehicle can continue to run fine. Diagnosis is the same. Update calibration, check PCM wiring/connections. If code still present, replace PCM. So most likely, MPT is not using the correct strategy code, or the PCM was updated after the last time you pulled the code to give to the tuner.
  17. Hope they can get it straightened out for you. Torrie is 24/7 (crazy guy) practically, don't know how he does it. Do you have any mods on your Edge that might need to be accounted for in the tune? BTW, you are SURE they used the right strategy code? Worst case, PCM might need replacement. 18. Let's see if it helps at all. Were the fans running in the parking lot?
  19. Then it must be the pet raccoons body slamming into the Edge in preparation for Wrestlemania! Maybe someone tried to hack into the Edge with some sort of rudimentary tool? An implosion of some sort (can't think of a reason why)? I looked on my driverside door, no issues.
  20. Form letter response. Sorry, but I have not seen Ford of Canada really prove a positive relationship with their customer base.
  21. I see sawdust has a taste for the Orange Crush No rattles and no winking allowed!
  22. Just completed a mostly highway circuit this AM (30 min in all), temps rarely above 192F. Even with idling for a couple of minute, temp didn't rise at all. 40F day. Not windy, rainy though.
  23. I guess we can now refer to the OEM lights as "nostalgia lighting" or "gaslamp lighting" No puddles can escape these babies!
