  1. Argh! The dreaded EVAP problem! Let's see if they replace the canister/solenoid or something else.
  2. Welcome to the forum, VO, glad to have you on here! You have a '14 Edge? Tell us more about it
  3. Air filter for sure. Oil filter & oil change. Run a bottle of Techron Fuel Injector cleaner through the gas tank, as injectors may be clogged. Spark plugs may be worn, depending on how those 89,000 miles were reached (all highway, stopngo, highway/city, etc.). PCV valve should be changed same time as plugs. A clogged PCV valve can cause all sorts of problems. Being AWD, the PTU is always suspect, may need fluid flush/refill. but that's further down the list. Basic maintenance first.
  4. Eek! The exhaust should be T304, and the driveshaft would be chromeplated or carbonfiber if I had my way. Nobody looks under their vehicles on a regular basis, so most times, nothing is done about it, probably de facto standard for the industry. Love your setup, BTW, what exactly is it? Must come in handy for your car collection
  5. Welcome to the forum. AWD/FWD? We need to know about the maintenance history on your Edge, as well as how many miles it has on it now. A lot of major services come due at 100,000 miles or thereabouts, for example. Any flashing lights to indicate any problems? Have you had codes pulled at a local auto parts store? Checked all fluid levels and fluid condition?
  6. Maybe at a 107,000 miles, but never had a problem THAT early on any of my vehicles. Glad it was under warranty!
  7. If you guys have some designs in mind, you should submit samples to him, you never know!
  8. Not sure how the 2011 displays work, but with older cars, it was pretty standard to turn on certain check lights, with KEY ON ENGINE OFF, which would then go out one by one as the functionality was verified KEY ON ENGINE RUNNING. If there is indeed a problem here, with so many errors showing up, the BCM and/or PCM are likely to be involved. I assume you have checked the underhood and passenger compartment fuseboxes already? That's where I'd start. Also, did you check for exposed wiring in the bumper area? Could have caused a short with the wash water. OR it could just be a problem with the pushbutton start, happens sometimes.
  9. You just need a really, really BIG antenna
  10. You should wait for Cellbine's custom jobber to be up for sale Highly unlikely you'll find a duplicate of it out there on the road.
  11. Loose pads or sticking calipers/slide pins would be my primary suspects. As far as warranty, what do you have remaining? Calipers might be covered under B2B, but not pads (wear item). Rears do sometimes get more worn than the fronts as they are used to control vehicle motion along with normal braking jobs. Have the brakes inspected at a trusted dealership or service center, and maintenanced as needed.
  12. With tie rods you can kinda escape the alignment if you count the number of turns of the old part vs the new part. For example: http://www.biopatent.com/alignment.html Control arms are trickier because they have a more complex job to do. http://www.1aauto.com/content/articles/control-arms With experience, you can approximate a proper alignment, but you really can't beat an alignment on modern equipment.
  13. Oh man! So sorry to hear. Best wishes for speedy recovery, hope the damage to her was minor.
  14. Thought I'd throw in the PS Leak TSB in for good measure. Supposedly only pertains to 07-08 Edge/MKX TSB 07-25-14 POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKS FROM STEERING RACK AND PUMP ATTACHMENT JOINTS 2007-08 Edge.pdf
  15. It's like being in tumbleweed-land when it comes to performance parts for the Edge
  16. It does seem quite a bit more compact than previous years' engine bays ...
  17. Looked at the brakes, "rust" forming on the hubs of the PowerStop rotors, need to address that at some point. Full auto touchless carwash today, looks better, though not finger-lickin' good Wheels almost look clean, they look nice when they are.
  18. Are the specs similar for your current unit as past Pioneer units you've had? Radio reception has been of steadily decreasing priority for a while now.
  19. Hey there, Ben! Congrats on the '08 Edge, and wish for many happy miles of motoring Any pix to share? Def ask about whatever!
