Answeres for all Audio/Video questions

Yeah, I guess it keeps treating everything like BetaMax Still interested in seeing if I can get a unit tho. Do you have a model number perchance? -
For these 2 parts, you don't have to drop the fuel tank first. Can you put up a copy of the estimate (personal info excluded of course), that would let us see what else might be going on? Besides, I risk my life every time I fill 'er up at the fuel pump Granted it's supposedly a low risk situation, but if you can smell the fumes, it ain't 100% safe. Hence the precautions: well-ventilated area, no smoking, no electronic devices that can cause a spark, wear static-resistant clothing, etc etc etc ... Perfectly ROTM stuff.

Welcome to the fold, TwinThing, congrats on your '14 Sport! Modded vehicles in the past (Ford or otherwise)? Pics?

According to the online owner's manual found here: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/catalog/owner_guides/07edgog3e.pdf you need Mercon V. So any product that says it specifically meets that spec is fine. Though I like to use OEM or non-multi spec fluid when topping off. Personal preference.

From the '07 FSM, hopefully similar to newer MYs: Removal Position the exterior mirror glass in a downward position to obtain a gap at the top edge of the mirror. WARNING: Place a shop towel between the exterior mirror glass and the hand to avoid personal injury in case of glass breakage. Disengage the mirror glass. Insert a flat-blade screwdriver between the mirror glass tabs and the mounting plate and rotate to separate the locking tabs from the mounting plate. Continue to insert and rotate the screwdriver until the remaining mirror glass tabs separate from the mounting plate. Carefully pull the top edge of the glass away from the exterior mirror housing.

That's gorgeous, FordMan! DIY or OEM?

Is that 2400W total, or 1200W total? Is the sub self-powered? What is the amp being used for? How much current total do you expect to pull at a time on a regular basis? Depending on your configuration, you may be a) fine with stock, b] need an alternator upgrade, and/or c) need a battery upgrade. Run the highest gauge power wiring you can afford to minimize loss. http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/vpid/8754973/vpcsid/0/SFV/30046 http://www.rmftc.com/howtos/electrical/electrical.html

Try an AEM DryFlow, at least there's no oil involved, just soap and water (you can use their kit if you want). K&N/oiled filters, just follow instructions that come with the filter. Use the spray kit for oiling, much easier to get that thin film on there as instructed, no different from painting. If the filter appears "underoiled"/doesn't turn red after oiling, spray another light coat in those areas only, wait, watch, repeat as needed. Then you should be fine. The MAF sensor should be cleaned regularly anyway, oil or no oil. It's easy & quick with MAF Cleaner.

Well, I hope the Edge will keep you enthralled with Ford for a long time to come

Ultimately, each owner has to decide what is right for them. Having your fuel tank inspected at an independent, trusted shop seems like a wise course of action so you don't suffer the "impound" threat. Yes, it will cost you, but if you don't want to part with your Edge for the entire trimester, it's a small price to pay. Find out the cost of repairing the tank now, even if you don't need it. Document everything, labor/parts. Be proactive.

Commonly used LED's

As far as Dingo's setup goes, I can add that the key was to use 35W ballasts for the reverse lights instead of the 15W ballasts for the 15W kit. Quicker response, better light as they are not power limited. -
Gotta love "auto-error" features.

Welcome, Al, and congrats on your soon-to-arrive '15 Edge!

Okay, so that's the Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid and Vapor Canister (CX-2106), respectively, collectively not more than $450 if you pick the parts up at the counter, or $250 off of EBay. CANISTER SOLENOID DIAGRAM 1 DIAGRAM 2

2007 ford edge a/c climate control
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Prime_official's topic in Welcome Forum!
Good you found the problem. Though why it affected only 1 side, IDK. -
Can you put up a video or audio? Is it slow to crank, or does the idle rpm run low, or ...? By "cold" do you mean temperatures are low, or just that the engine is at ambient or both? Usually thick oil or weak battery are the primary culprits. If the camshaft position sensor is failing, it will also struggle, but eventually start. If there are misfires (too early for that), can struggle. Bad fuel might do it. Starter issues. Loose cabling between battery/starter/alternator.

2007 ford edge a/c climate control
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Prime_official's topic in Welcome Forum!
Could be a problem with the climate control unit itself. First thing to do is run the builtin diagnostics. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/15071-climate-control-problem/?do=findComment&comment=115324 -
