2008 Ford Edge 3.5L #5 Coil replacement
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to montyvox's topic in 2008 Edge & MKX
Luckily for you, IF that coil is the only problem, it is the middle one of the 3 right up front. Should be a snap to replace. You MIGHT need a rubber boot if the old one is in bad shape, though, and that part should be available from the dealer. Anyhoo, you should start with pulling codes first to see if any misfires etc are occurring before you get on the parts replacement roulette wheel. If you don't have a reader, any major auto parts store should be able to grab 'em for you. -
Good products, I have their '07-'10 taillight set installed, buy buy buy

Welcome, craigtaz, congrats on your '14 Edge! How about some pics of that fabulous new ride

Tough situation, dshamer, best you can hope for ATM is the dealership will honor their word to you. So be proactive and keep an eye on the condition of your vehicle. The moment you see any of the symptoms of a major issue in the near future, call it in.

Welcome to the forum and the Edge family, here's to many miles of smiles! No problems with the exhaust tips here, except for the normal carboning. Recommended to do cleaning with 0000 stainless steel wool pads (commonly available, I got mine from Home Depot) or a clean cloth & Mother's Mag&Aluminum Polish, and protect the finish with Collinite Metal Wax or similar product. Mobil 1 5W20 should work fine, the Ford OEM filter is still a great value and would recommend unless going for an extended OC interval, in which case you have to get an appropriate filter from Mobil 1/Amsoil/etc.

Hope it all works out for you.

This is the item you want: AIL-BLK-BRI-EDGE-0710 - 1 set of LH & RH LED Taillight Assembly, 2007-2010 Ford Edge - Shadow Black as stated on my invoice. Just make sure you put in your note to Dan that you want the ones specific to the 2007 Edge. That's all that's needed, he'll make sure the right parts get out to you. Send him an email at info@daytimebrightlites.com and he can send you a PayPal invoice to place the order, if you like. Due to the additional cost to manufacture the 07-10 Edge Taillights, the price is a little more than their 2011-14 Edge taillights. Shipping extra. The taillight will look exactly the same as their current 2011-2014 Edge taillight and is totally plug and play with your stock wire harness. Just unplug your old taillight and plug theirs in. The turn signal function will be different than the current 11-14 Edge taillight. The 07-10 taillight uses the brake lights for the turn signal, just like your stock taillights. So the amber turn signal in the taillight will not be used and the 9 LEDs in their brake light will flash on and off when the turn signals are on. The reverse light remains unchanged. DTBL does have a reverse bulb offering, also an LED package for the reverse/turn lights.

You MUST have the vehicle level before you attempt to empty or fill the PTU (i.e., jackstands or lift). Since the amount you take out may not be correct for the fill (original level too low or you didn't take it all out, etc), fill the PTU till the fluid comes out the fill hole. You can make a tool that gives you an approximate idea of correct level like this (from the FSM): Using a tie strap, measure 44.5 mm (1.75 in) from the end and bend it at a 90-degree angle, measure from the end up to 38.1 mm (1.5 in) and place an index mark. Place it in the filler opening and check the fluid. The correct fluid level will be between the bottom of the dipstick and the 38.1 mm (1.5 in) maximum fill mark. Adjust the fluid level as necessary. Slowly add fluid in to the correct fill specification. Do not overfill the PTU. This will cause the fluid to be forced out of the unit.

These are pics from the front of the car, right, not the back? That cover looks like it might be for the RDU? PTU fluid has a distinctively nasty smell, not sure about the RDU fluid. I'd tighten the vent back down, tape it up (to seal it), and degrease that area to see what's going on. But you may need to check the fluid/add fluid if it is an ongoing situation. EDIT: You said you have powertrain warranty remaining? I believe any problems with the RDU should be covered under there.
