  1. Welcome to the community, Philip, congrats on your svelte '15 Edge I'm sure the "old school" V6 will work out splendidly! Probably need to get the interior protected with those 2 tykes looking to beta test Ford's design
  2. It would be good if they churn them out like butter!
  3. Great to hear, hope you log many troublefree miles in the years to come
  4. There is no TSB for replacing the door latch, just cleaning, as akirby pointed out. If the cleaning fails, then as normal process, they would replace it.
  5. Not all trim levels came with a cabin filter, I believe only the SEL+. But you can put one in yourself. Is your AC working OK? Radiator and condenser free of debris? If the coils are freezing, they would release water with the melting.
  6. Go to a post made by the member you want to PM. Click once on the member's name, this will send you to their profile page. Look for the Send me a message button on the right side of the page. Click on that once to open a new PM. If on a desktop, hover over the member's name in their post, a mini profile page will appear. Click on the Send Message button to start a new PM.
  7. Changed the cabin air filter recently? That would be the easiest issue to tackle. Backed up condensation drains smell like mildew, so that's not likely to be it, but still worth a check if the cabin filter doesn't pan out. Lastly, there is a possibility of an exhaust leak, but I don't know of any specific weakness in the exhaust chain to point you to.
  8. Sorry to see you in this boat with a lot of other folks, I got lucky and count my blessings! It would have been better to get an exception from the govt, produce the original design, maybe add a coating to it to make it more resistant to corrosion, and get the vehicles back on the road. It's not like they ruptured when brand new or something. Maybe even let the customers take the vehicle home, tankless and sealed off the fuel componentry if they wanted to keep them. I just wish they were afforded better protection at the dealership. As far as insurance, I am sure they will cover the rental for the duration of the recall. Just have to talk to them, and let them talk to Ford. Maybe they can get you a better rental vehicle too!
  9. Thank goodness on my '95, the only problem I ever had with the door was the nylon bushing on the door jamb broke after 17 years
  10. Keep a lookout for any more shift issues. Check the trans fluid condition too.
  11. Reddish fluid should be either trans or power steering fluid. From the location, I'd go with power steering fluid. Have you checked the power steering fluid level in the reservoir? That hose/fittings likely need replacement, IMHO.
  12. Sorry to hear about the wheels, J! This past winter has been nasty in its' own way.
  13. Hopefully a placeholder, or you just got a one-of-a-kind time machine
  14. How do you know it's clearing codes if you haven't pulled them? There ARE temporary codes, but the important ones are usually set in "permanent" memory. You have to clear those manually (unless voltages are so messed up it messed up the PCM too).
  15. Finally found the post where Dan listed his product earlier: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11431-led-puddle-lights/?do=findComment&comment=87296
  16. Better brakes do exist, you can get better pads to work with OEM rotors, or replace both rotor & pad (Power Stop, EBC, etc.). A big brake kit is available for front (Brembo?), while TCE is willing to customize a Wilwood kit for the Edge/MKX (they need a "volunteer" + a few short hours for measurements etc.) for F/R. There are versions of the PTU on the SHO and thus the Police Interceptor that have a water-cooled system, but alas, not extra capacity. As akirby pointed out, a regular PTU fluid exchange program is the best/easiest bet right now for our vehicles.
  17. Financing is usually where it falls apart most often, IMHO. You do have to question every number they write down (orally means nothing, commitment to paper is everything), but even then it may not work out. Financing is where the dealership makes money.
  18. Nice upgrade! Looking forward to your review of the EBC looks/function over time
  19. Congrats, about time Which dealer did you end up working out a deal with?
  20. Probably need to replace the shifter based on your troubleshooting. Normally, we see transmission range sensors causing battery drain, but this could be an early or different version of the same problem.
