  1. Here's Cellbine's writeup on removing the bumper: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12810-how-to-remove-front-bumper;-2011-2013-models
  2. The price of E85 is usually lower than gasoline (don't know if subsidized or not), which brings the real world cost per mile to par with straight gasoline.
  3. They'll probably check it at the garage, but the brake fluid can get dirty with moisture and rust over time. In my personal experience one time, it actually caused symptoms of a failing master cylinder (pedal very soft, to the floor, no-brakes feeling). So this would be a good time to flush the brake fluid also.
  4. That's a lot of miles in one year! Haven't had any issues with mine yet, I don't put on a ton of miles, but 30/70 highway/city, so a lot of braking involved. Will be sure to check them more closely though.
  5. Wow, that would be scary! Glad you are OK. I hope they get you the latest revision of the brake booster so it works better & lasts longer. Do you have the brake fluid flushed regularly?
  6. And since now we will never know about the OC, here's a standin:
  7. Good call going certified Congrats on a pair of 2011's and good luck, long life!
  8. Welcome, Teri, glad to have you & your '14 Edge join us! First Ford? What other vehicles did you look at before purchasing? Any pix to share?
  9. You CAN run E15 or a little higher in an EB motor, but it is definitely not mfr recommended. So, for example, you might add 1-1.5 gallons of E85, rest of it regular gasoline (assuming it is E10 already). Having a bit of that extra ethanol in the mix helps keep the soot from accumulating on the insides of the tailpipes, not sure if the fuel ACTUALLY burns cleaner though.
  10. Sounds like you are well on your way to upgrading your fourth biggest investment!
  11. If the XenonDepot relay kit doesn't work, you can try the TheRetrofitSource (TRS) relay kit. It's pretty sturdy and well-liked.
  12. 100% with WingNut on this one! If plugs are fouling, it is not because of higher octane fuel, UNLESS there's longterm problems wih the local area fuel supply.
  13. How many miles on your Edge, Kevin? How much idling in that city driving? It can take up to 10,000 miles for the engine to finally settle in, mpg-wise. Also try and use a high volume, top tier gas station at every fillup.
  14. That should vastly speed up your product offerings for the market
  15. Oops, sorry, I should have noticed you are in Canada. Consider Tricia your fallback resource anyway, just in case
  16. "Edge gives Legend a lift" Let the good times roll!
  17. Too young to have all these (7) issues! Best of luck, hope they get it fixed right the first time, under warranty.
  18. Maybe have them put it through the car wash again just before you take delivery? Wondering if the drain holes are plugged or otherwise obstructed.
  19. One hopes new designs are fully vetted prior to release. But, the first few buyers will always be on the leading edge of the wave, for better or worse. You get to enjoy/brag about your vehicle first, but also usually get to discover problems first. Again, I don't wish this on anyone, and you should certainly follow up with your selling dealership, and Ford, as appropriate, and don't give up. I hope they will get the Engineers working on this issue pronto. I am only a customer myself, and I understand this is a business, but I will not only advocate for Ford, but also "dog" them when needed to solve a problem that needs solving. Business is never about just business. It is a relationship based on trust, like anything else. Simple as that.
  20. Cheeky, have you PM'd FordService yet (Tricia)? She may be able to find out more for you on the actual status of the Edge. Hope they haven't lost it somewhere (cringe)! Need 5 posts to PM, so you are just a couple short as of now
  21. I am sure you will love the results! I do appreciate your trying an alternate solution though, more knowledge for us to keep handy!
  22. That's what all the "knowledgeable" people and those who have experienced a fuel dump on their feet due to topping will say The damage may not show up immediately, but over time. The monitoring systems get more sensitive and more complex ...
