  1. Welcome to the Edge/MKX community, congrats on the '14 SEL! Hope you will post some pics of your mods as they progress, and wish you many happy miles of motoring!
  2. A doberman and a pitbull, nice quiet dogs from what I hear. Get one of those wearable cams to go with :D
  3. Should be only one way, narrow to wide, front to back for the window visors. that's for the FRONT windows. The REAR windows use the short pieces, they don't have a narrow or wide side that I can remember.
  4. If you can DIY or have a friend do it, might be cheaper AND safer to go ahead with the TB change on your dime. Keep all receipts (FWIW) and fight it out later. BTW, since someone asked about the torque specs for the TB bolts: To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  5. Not practical, but it would be an interesting comparo to a brand new unit.
  6. I think it looks like this? Courtesy of EBay listing http://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-2011-2012-2013-2014-FORD-Edge-Center-Console-Tray-Insert-/291499804684 Coin Tray: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-2011-2012-2013-2014-FORD-Edge-Center-Console-Coin-Tray-Insert-/291499805086
  7. Good luck! If push comes to shove, you can insist on the dealer having a Ford Engineer look into the matter.
  8. Every 2-3 years for hydraulic brake systems is recommended no matter the vehicle. Moisture/rust build up in the fluid over time. There is no brake fluid official recommendation for the Edge that I know of, but it is a part of routine inspection every time you visit the service center for oil change etc.
  9. Have you tried PM'ing FordServiceCA? You do need 5 posts to use the PM facility.
  10. Pretty neat way to occupy your time, Jared! How many miles on that 1500 engine?
  11. Yes, the Motorcraft/Ford fluid is full synthetic. BUT, if you want the best fluid, it will be most likely Amsoil, a TRUE full synthetic. Emerging data from people who race their cars and maintain them properly points in that direction. Royal Purple is another favorite brand.
  12. Happy Father's Day, mac, and congrats on the surprise gift
  13. Trans temps really shouldn't go over 200F if you expect the fluid & mechanicals to last. The hotter the fluid gets, the less of a life it has. If you have not changed out the trans fluid already, I'd highly recommend doing so now.
  14. Sucks you have had to go through this with the PTU. Hope the replacement serves you well.
  15. Hard to say. If the refrigerant charge is low, then yes, definitely it will help improve the AC performance. You can get gauges that will show you the high side and low side pressures (should be between 413-551 kPa (60-80 psi) at 24°C (75°F) with the engine off), but really this is something a mechanic should handle. Also check to make sure that the coolant is at the COLD FULL mark when engine is cool, and that both radiator fans run when AC is set to MAX A/C setting and fan speed is set to HIGH.
  16. Welcome to the forum, Sean, glad to have you join us x2 on good2Bking's comments! Any mods done/planned for your ride? Pics to share?
  17. Keep that camera lens clean, it's got lots of work left to do!
  18. Wonder if a good cargo cover would help reduce the buffeting problem also?
