  1. Not really. I took a can of compressed air (like they use for computers) and cleaned the vicinity of the coils. You really don't have to worry about much after that, as the boots on the coils are bolted down and are designed to keep the spark plug wells clean. If you doing this work in a garage or covered area, you should be fine.
  2. They can always plastidip it and sell to the BMW Ice-loving folks
  3. There might be an issue with the SJB (smart junction box) - short in wiring ...
  4. AWD - start with checking the PTU & driveshaft for signs of leakage. Hopefully no metal shavings in the PTU fluid! Check exhaust heat shields, may be loose. Usually a buzzing sound, but if vibrating fast, could sound like that. Any recent work done on the Edge?
  5. How many miles on your Edge? Is the noise continuous or intermittent when coasting? Is it only when you start up it up and drive away after letting it sit for some time? AWD immediately begs the question: PTU. So check the PTU fluid condition, see if there are any signs of leaks on the unit or the driveway. With your foot on the brake, work slowly through the gears and listen carefully to see if you can hear it while the Edge is not moving. Did you install the brakes yourself (rotors AND pads, or just pads or ...)? Are the caliper slide pins and pistons moving freely? Is the transmission that was installed new/recertified/used? Check all nuts & bolts on the parts replaced to make sure everything is mounted properly & securely. May have to use loctite to secure those that have come loose.

  7. Welcome, Scotty Kilmer! J/K, glad the Edge has kept your interest so long Great color choice, BTW.
  8. The "easiest" parts to throw at the problem are the headlamp switch and the multifunction switch. The SJB, as akirby pointed out, is best left to the dealer/service shop to diagnose.
  9. Not exactly an "easy" color to decide on. The more "basic" colors like blue, black, white, etc will always be preferred by most people. I have liked the entire line of orangish/brownish hues on the Edge that Ford has put out, but that's me LOL.
  10. Drain from the reservoir using a turkey baster - a popular choice.
  11. I am curious if anyone has checked the paint thickness to see how much Ford is putting on these 2015s.
  12. Per this post, the 2 piece should bolt right into place instead of the 3 piece: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/17690-drive-shaft/?do=findComment&comment=129390
  13. Interesting workaround, however temporary. Hope the new parts treat you well.
  14. Another 25 degrees and you can enjoy Death Valley paradise at home! Hope the tires continue to behave themselves, good luck
  15. OEM parts are meant to a job, and when they are not seen or looked for, they get as basic as possible As long as they function correctly, I am OK with that! But no doubt, if there is an upgrade like the TurboSmart, why not?
  16. Do you not have warranty coverage, vanjcox? If not, how far out are you of coverage?
  17. Was this the writeup you used, Ryan? http://www.escape-city.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4074
  18. Remove and discard the shock absorber upper nuts. To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).Remove the shock absorber lower bolt, flagnut and shock absorber. Discard the bolt and flagnut. To install, tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).
  19. Should mention the issue to your service advisor next time you have the Edge in for service. Maybe the hoods are being made of a lighter material now? I do know it takes triple digit speeds for the hoods to flex on other model lines, maybe the additive effect of your speed and the big rig's speed did it ...
  20. Here you go: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/18511-weathertech-cargo-mat-available/
  21. Drilling a drain hole might, but adding Amsoil wouldn't.
