  1. The price of trading in ole reliable - a headache in oh so many ways We need good aftermarket parts for the lift struts.
  2. Probably needs new design foam padding? Maybe they will fix the heated/cooled feature while they are at it.
  3. In at least a few cases, the water leaks also led to compromised electronics.
  4. The manual certainly implies the power point is always on. Run the vehicle for full capacity use of the power point. To prevent the battery from discharging accidentally: • Do not use the power point longer than necessary when the vehicle is not running. • Do not leave devices plugged in overnight or when you park your vehicle for extended periods.
  5. Not a reassuring experience at all! Is there an actual leak or could it be the fuel pump/level sensor is disconnected/rusted/at fault?
  6. How many miles on your Edge? Checked for codes from the OBD port? When the A/C does work without the coolant temp going to H, are the temperatures out of the vent what you'd expect? Checked the condenser/radiator to make sure they are clean? You can use a foaming A/C cleaner (any home hardware store), let sit, then gently wash down with water from a garden hose (no high pressure!). Coolant level at FULL when engine is cold & off? Does the cooling fan come on when you first start the engine with the A/C off, then switch it on in MAX A/C position with blower on HIGH? Check coolant flow with engine running & warmed up by turning on MAX HEAT/blower HIGH then touching the heater outlet hose. Hose should be hot. Also feel the upper/lower radiator hoses. One of them should definitely be hotter than the other when engine is warmed up. That would verify thermostat. The gauge itself may be faulty. Pinpoint Test D: Incorrect Temperature Gauge Indication Normal OperationThe PCM receives the engine coolant temperature status through hardwired circuitry to the cylinder head temperature (CHT) sensor. The instrument cluster receives the engine coolant temperature data from the PCM over the high speed controller area network (HS-CAN) communication bus. The instrument cluster monitors the engine coolant temperature data received from the PCM and commands the temperature gauge indication with a corresponding movement of the pointer. If the instrument cluster does not receive the engine coolant temperature status message from the PCM for 5 seconds or less, the instrument cluster defaults the temperature gauge to the last setting, based upon the last known good temperature status message. If the instrument cluster does not receive the engine coolant temperature status message from the PCM for more than 5 seconds or if the data received is deemed invalid, the instrument cluster sets DTC U0100 in continuous memory and defaults the temperature gauge to cold ©. NOTE: If DTC U0100 is set in the instrument cluster, other observable symptoms may be an inoperative speedometer, tachometer or odometer. Possible Causes PCM Instrument cluster
  7. Frankly, it's pretty heartbreaking to see what is going on at Ford and what is happening with their customer base because of these incidents. I am sure they are trying to get the process fixed, not just the problem vehicles, I hope calmer waters will be here soon.
  8. Where are the pics, Dood??? I bet it looks a ton better with the new emblem! What switchbacks did you get? The Edge is pretty finicky with what it sees fit to work. If you can afford it, it's a good idea to have a specialist like DTBL/DriveBright do the hard work for you
  9. The only common engine with the Mustang is the 3.7L used by the 2011+ Edge Sport model. The tune won't work for the Edge. I do believe SCT has canned tunes for the Edge depending on which tuning device you have. X3? X4? Canned tunes are kind of hilariously short of what a tuning specialist can achieve, by design.
  10. Good luck, at worst, it will help put more power to the ground rather than twisting the body.
  11. Check out/EMail Torrie @ UnleashedTuning.com. Let him know what you want out of the tune. Be prepared to have done all flight checks beforehand
  12. Most places will show interest if they can get a) test mules for measuring & testing, and enough interest/commitment from potential buyers.
  13. Quite a difference between old & new fluid. Persistence pays!
  14. Welcome to the community, and congrats on your gorgeous new ride! Looks like a VERY sunny day in San Diego! Also congrats on the pending new addition to the family, can't wait to hear the good news Hope the Edge serves you well, what mods are/will be in progress?
  15. Glad you are back on the road, Prinzll! Changed the cabin air filter recently?
  16. The mechanic can check out the master cylinder and brake fluid condition in addition to the booster while he's got the vehicle on-hand. Sometimes dirty brake fluid can cause all kinds of weird symptoms.
  17. We do have a thread where the "BOV" valve was replaced with an aftermarket BOV unit. Might be the same for the 2.7 also. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/18490-2013-edge-ecoboost-bov/
  18. Welcome to the forum, and hearty congrats on the '15 Sport!!! Glad you found something in the Ford range to meet your needs. Plan to travel with a camper or ...? AWD/FWD, color? Pics to share?
  19. Good question! There is definitely confusion. 433 MHz 315MHz "Japan" spec. Check your vehicle's info here: http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleSelection.do see if it tells you the MHz you need.
  20. Holy smokes, mac-man! You are truly at the cutting edge of the infotainment industry. The Matrix is alive!
  21. A couple of quick things, jon: 1) the carbon buildup in EB engines is on the back of the intake valves, which normally would be cleaned regularly in a port injected engine by fuel "washing" over them prior to entering the combustion chamber. 2) if you are using 1/2 quart in 5,000 miles, that is too much at your vehicle's mileage. There is likely too much blowby in the PCV system, ending up as pools in the intake tubing OR in the intercooler (CAC). If there is too much blowby, you would want to report it to Ford, so they can see if they need to redesign the valve cover like they did for the 3.5EB. Also make sure you don't see any leaks from the seals on the turbo oil feed line. They have been known to leak on the 3.5EB, hope the 2.0 is different. Many high mileage EBs are running without using a drop of oil in 5-10K OC intervals. Yes, full synthetic AND synblend. For all EB (and non-EB) users, if you are interested in improving performance AND mileage, look into a line of products called ACES IV. We have recently started looking into their claims, but they are well established in the Dodge performance world. Brian @ BND Automotive, if you want to talk to him directly, he'd love it
  22. How many miles on your MKX, Greg? Replacing spark plugs at 60,000+ miles (yes, I know 100K per the manual) esp if mixed city/hwy driving is a great idea. It allows you to check the condition of the PCV valve, COPs, and throttle body in the process. Did the dealer find any codes or no? If they did, can you list them, or pull them yourself, or have them pulled at an auto parts store? With today's computerized vehicles, that is usually square #1 in the puzzle.
  23. MPP? Assurant? Ford ESP warranties, if that is what you are thinking of, are the best deal you will get. Search online (floodfordesp.com, for example) for great pricing, maybe dealer will match.
