Ford transmissions can be sturdy IF fluid changes are done regularly. The 150K change interval may not actually refer to a new transmission after all.

The 07-10 Edge/MKX has the 70.6, 11+ have 63.4 bores. Do these wheels come with the TPMS, or would I need to transfer from my existing wheels? Not sure I am in the market just yet, but definitely interested.
-
How about 45 min to 1 hr later? Should be off by then if working correctly.
-
Are these 63.4 or 70.6 center bore wheels, wizard?

Trying to figure out this vibration....
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to chanadian85's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Could just be a bad wheel/tire combo, became obvious when that rear tire got moved to active duty in the front. Hopefully you can get a re-alignment/balancing for free? The Paradas are quality tires, but there could be a dud once in a while. 22" OEM wheels have been known to crack, so I would have them inspected very closely. Or could be a driveshaft bearing issue that happens to coincide with the tire purchase/rotation. -
Run, don't walk from San Tan Ford. There are better dealerships out there. BTW, as a matter of routine, 3yr/36,000 mile intervals still hold for drain & fills: brake fluid, trans fluid, power steering fluid, etc. IF you want to be proactive. Not absoutely necessary, but a good idea. All fluids discolor over time. But do they smell burnt, is there debris in the fluid, ... That's what you need to watch out for, and check on a regular basis. And yes, I have gotten the "brake fluid is dirty, throttle body is dirty, etc." routine before. Maybe the dealership hopes the owner won't question them on it.

So you are using a carrier of some sort, crchet? Parking Aids section of the manual starts around pg 183. There may be, as Joe said, a way to turn the system off ... Certain add-on devices such as large trailer hitches, bike or surfboard racks and any device that may block the normal detection zone of the system, may create false beeps. Note: If you attach certain add-on devices such as a trailer or bike rack, the rear sensing system may detect that add-on device and therefore provide warnings. It is suggested that you disable the rear sensing system when you attach an add-on device to your vehicle to prevent these warnings. Apparently on the F150s, you can press the odometer reset button while the system is beeping to turn it off. Pg 103/107: If you scroll through the menus, there should be a DRIVER ASSIST section when you can uncheck the Rear Parking Aid feature to disable it. Pg 119: If MyKey is enabled, Park Aid cannot be deactivated.

the drivers side door open light does not go off.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to 72harley1000's topic in 2013 Edge & MKX
That's going to stop working eventually as well, so you might want to be proactive and spray the heck out of the latch now with electronics or MAF cleaner to prolong service life. -
Edge 2015 Fog Lights?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Dz0n3's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
I believe the "Edge" being sold in China is actually a rebadged Explorer. -
All I know is there is generally a 10 minute "courtesy" power ON after engine is turned off unless (driver?) door is opened before that time is up. There is also, at least on 2011 & newer, a battery saver timeout of 45 minutes (or less if the battery level is detected to be at threshhold before that). Logic is primarily to allow accessories to be run without using engine power, such as traveling with passengers, running a short errand, vacuuming the interior etc.

Lot of pinouts also at the AZ link, very helpful! -
The major concern is with an Edge that has AWD, where the system can and will shut down if too much difference (> 3%) is noted ("sensed") somewhere in the system. Best to replace with the same make/model of tire that the other 3 are. Will minimize ride/handling characteristics as well as keep the AWD from freaking out. HTH.

Abnormal Steering on the 3.7 Sport

Ford does use hydraulic mounts in vehicles like the Taurus SHO even today, don't know about the 2011+ Edge though.
