Probably needs a PCM calibration or a TB re-design. Glad you were able to get your situation resolved, John, even if it meant a different vehicle.

Welcome to the community, 15sportTT, congrats on the wife's new ride. It looks great! Hope she likes hitting that happy pedal How about a pic of both of your rides, sidebyside? -
Sorry you had to suffer the incident, Red, must have been scary! If it's any consolation, it is a relatively DIY job if cost is a concern.

Windshield Washer Fluid
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to onyxbfly's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
I'm not the right person to ask, I use any cheapo fluid with the right freeze rating (lower in wintertime) Are you looking for a product to coat your glass? If so, apply the RainX directly. Or get Aquapel (better). Or get by FlyBy30 (best). Maybe a sealant for your paint would protect it from staining, a wax wouldn't cut it for long. Then you could continue to use RainX WWF. Although that seems like the cart leading the horse. -
Windshield Washer Fluid
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to onyxbfly's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
I assume you could open up the right hand fender splash shield and disconnect the hoses to drain the reservoir. There was a howto on replacing the washer pump on YT that should provide a visual aid: -
Loss of power of EDGE 2008. Help to understand to the colleague.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to EDST777's topic in 2008 Edge & MKX
To be honest, IMHO it's risky, more so because you have AWD. If the computer is acting on incorrect data, you can get some harsh shifting, which could lead to costly repairs. -

Maybe it finally set a code or codes from the TSS/OSS failure? I'd check those first. -

Leaking PTU 2007 Ford Edge - Recall???
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Yoyoma's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
The PTU does have a fill plug that can be used for both drain & fill. Not the best way, but it is manageable. Make sure the fill is correct at installation time. Regular fluid service should keep it running well, make sure you get the latest revision (D, I think). There are 2 speculated reasons for early failure: insufficient fill from factory, and/or fluid evaporation under heavy use. Also, the vent is susceptible under high water conditions (as stated in the manual), so you could have the extender kit specified in TSBs installed to prevent that possibility. There are upgraded versions of the PTU in the Taurus Police Interceptor, Taurus SHO w Performance Package, Explorer Police Interceptor etc that include cooling, temp monitoring, and separate drain/fill plugs. Still doesn't solve the problem, though: too little fluid. Yeah, it shoulda been better designed.- 8 replies

Welcome, Cailin, looking forward to your Intro thread -
Sounds like a blend door/blend door actuator problem. If not that, then likely the CCM itself could be at fault.

2007 AWD rear wheel bearing replacement

When it comes to bearings, Timken is usually a solid choice for any application. My experience with them is in the Taurus line. -

Any aftermarket electronics (lighting, audio, alarm system, etc.) or replacement HID bulbs (assuming OEM HID on your Edge; 35W/55W) installed recently? The fact that the new battery (assuming not very old at time of installation) was 9.4V tells you right away that there is a drain on it right away, or it is a bad unit. Connections are good, clean & tight? When you say the passenger side HID is brighter, is it "normal" bright or brighter than "normal"? Any exposure to heavy rains/car washes/high water recently? If everything else checks out: The BCM/SJB is separate from the PCM, and could be fried. It can, and has caused battery drain problems before. Also, if your Edge has the Battery Monitoring System, it needs to be reset to recognize the new battery so it can "smart charge" it properly. Bad smell from vents when accelerating hard!
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Dukhaykh's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
A) Bad gas (sulfur) B] Vents behind rear bumper fascia are blocked C) Exhaust leak, more evident during heavy throttle conditions Without the cabin filter in place, the smell might be more easily evident.
