Clay bar kit (Mothers/Meguiars - Amazon) should work well also.

2007 AWD suspension refresh - help with parts
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to shumax's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Does the AWD have a rear stabilizer bar? IDK. May not need bushing or end links if so. Sachs is usually OEM for Ford, that may work better than Motorcraft, but Motorcraft should be a solid choice. -
Check under "Rear Parking Aid", as it is officially known Is the Edge working fine otherwise? Have you tried turning the key to RUN (but not starting engine), then shifting into Reverse? Should still hear the beeping if there are objects close enough to the rear bumper. Usually it is either alignment of the sensors under the rear bumper cover, one or more sensors are actually faulty, or possibly the Parking Aid Module has actually malfunctioned. Also should check the connections at the sensors, they can develop rust. If so, clean with a stiff brush, apply dielectric grease & reconnect. Wiring may actually need to be replaced, again, usually in the sensor area. There isn't any "intelligent" connection between ECU (PCM) & battery until the 2011 model year, so not to worry on that score. Good idea though!

Did it come with the harness? Then, yes, definitely you should wire it up. From all reports, the DTBL HIDs are among the fastest on the market. Could be the ballasts are faulty or incorrect though. Can happen on occasion. If you post a pic of the parts, other product owners can help verify, at least the external aspects.

Report Receipt Date: OCT 27, 2010 NHTSA Campaign Number: 10V516000 Component(s): LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES Vehicle MakeModelModel Year(s) FORD EDGE 2011 LINCOLN MKX 2011 Manufacturer: FORD MOTOR COMPANYSUMMARY:FORD IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 EDGE AND LINCOLN MKX VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 1, 2010, THROUGH OCTOBER 8, 2010. THESE VEHICLES WERE SHIPPED WITH INCORRECTLY CONFIGURED ELECTRONIC MODULE SETTINGS THAT DISABLE THE LOCKING FUNCTION OF THE LIFTGATE. ACCORDINGLY, THE VEHICLES FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 206, "DOOR LOCKS AND DOOR RETENTION COMPONENTS." CONSEQUENCE:THE LIFTGATE LOCK MAY BE DISABLED AND THE DRIVER MAY NOT BE ABLE TO LOCK THE LIFTGATE USING INTERIOR LOCK SWITCHES OR REMOTE KEY FOB BUTTONS. REMEDY:FORD WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL HAVE THE AFFECTED CONTROL MODULES UPDATED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 1, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORD AT 1-866-436-7332. NOTES:FORD SAFETY RECALL NO. 10C14. Report Receipt Date: APR 28, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V250000 Component(s): STEERING Vehicle MakeModelModel Year(s) FORDEDGE2015 FORDFUSION2013-2015 LINCOLNMKZ2013-2015 Manufacturer: Ford Motor Company SUMMARY: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles manufactured February 3, 2012, to March 20, 2015, and 2015 Ford Edge vehicles manufactured February 26, 2015, to February 28, 2015, and originally sold, or currently registered in, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. In the affected vehicles, snow or water containing road salt or other contaminants may corrode the electric power steering gear motor attachment bolts. CONSEQUENCE: If the bolts corrode, the steering gear motor may detach from the gear housing resulting in a loss of power steering assist. Loss of power steering assist would require a higher steering effort, especially at lower speeds, which may increase the risk of a crash. REMEDY: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will apply sealer and replace the steering gear motor bolts as required. If one or more of the steering gear motor attachment bolts are broken or missing, a new steering gear will be installed in the vehicle. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on June 24, 2015. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 15S14. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov. Do you have any pics of the outlet before installation? So I can get an idea of the form factor, included circuitry, etc? TIA.
-
Are the keys in your pocket or in the ignition at the time these events happen? May be time to replace the key fob battery. Does it happen with both key fobs? Even though the Edge starts fine (for now), it does not necessarily vouch for the car battery's state of health. If it's more than 2-3 years old, worth having it checked with modern diagnostic equipment. Any events lately that might be contributing: accident, high pressure car wash/heavy rains, work done on the Edge, etc.?

That's what it is on the 3.5 EB, between the SHO and F150 for example. Because of internal engine differences, but mainly because of transmission differences (AWD vs RWD). Depending on how much power the RDU's clutch packs can take on the 2015 Edge, you may creep closer to F150 numbers, but the PTU will still pose a challenge. The system will try to protect itself, and I am sure LME will not tune it to override safety constraints. There are also typically 5% higher drivetrain losses in an AWD system compared to FWD/RWD. What I don't know is if the turbos are the same this time around in the 2.7. On the 3.5, they are different. Transverse = smaller, longitudinal = larger turbos. Tuned F150 vs Stock F150 (not quite same options) - approx +70 hp/+90 tq peak to peak https://youtu.be/PqE86s5Mk3w?t=1m4s 2013 SHO: +50 hp/+35 tq peak to peak (tho in all fairness, this was one of their earliest tunes, refined quite a bit since then) https://youtu.be/VnXVzV4gmDI?t=38s What IS possible to gain on the 2013 SHO with more mods: +160 hp/+165 tq peak to peak https://youtu.be/XzwC2RWxrO8?t=36s Mind you the quotes are for daily driver levels of power. Not for built engines/race calibrations.

It'll be wonderful to get that on the Edge, but be ready for numbers to be a bit lower than the F150, esp on the torque side.

All depends on design on the exhaust and packaging. It could be replaced with a larger, single pipe, 2into1 setup if you wanted to go that route. But from a marketing standpoint, on a higher end vehicle, people expect dual exhaust tips at a minimum LOL. This is provided of course on the Gen I Edge with a split at the back end of the catback instead of a true dual layout.

Pretty good price for a PTU fluid change. I have been hearing more in the neighborhood of $350 because Ford's official procedure is to drop, service, install the unit (!).

Yeah, it is too bad about the stains. Could've been a real timesaver. Great idea, not so great implementation. -
If true to prev design, the downpipes (exhaust port to catback) will be the restriction, with awkward bends.

It's a good thing the trans has been upgraded to 6F55 from 6F50 Makes a tuned Edge more fun to drive.

2 yr/unlimited mileage IF on your dime. Under warranty work, as we all know too well, there is no explicit warranty coverage but for the warranty you have remaining under which the work was performed.
