Best replacement 20" tires (2008 MKX)?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to DaPurpleRT's topic in 2008 Edge & MKX
I put the 421Qs on my Edge this past July. They are working well so far (sun, rain, mud), though I feel they are somewhat on the "rubbery" side where handling is concerned. Definitely not a "sport" tire. No winter experience yet, so can't speak to that. -
You hit the nail on the head. The first thing to do is replace the fob battery, and then the vehicle battery. Ideally, you would also have the Battery Monitoring System reset with the new vehicle battery for the best longevity.

Best replacement 20" tires (2008 MKX)?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to DaPurpleRT's topic in 2008 Edge & MKX
If you want to narrow down by your specific vehicle, you can go into the "Read All Reviews" page for the tire on tirerack.com then select only the reviews for your vehicle (if available). -

Best replacement 20" tires (2008 MKX)?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to DaPurpleRT's topic in 2008 Edge & MKX
Plenty of discussions on this subforum: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/forum/46-wheels-tires/ Favorites tend to agree with Tirerack's ratings (look at the CUV tires first). I generally go for the tire with the highest rating & the most miles driven. An example: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=CSTAS&width=245%2F&ratio=60&diameter=18&tireSearch=true&filter=y&autoMake=Ford&autoYear=2007&autoModel=Edge+SEL&autoModClar=AWD In addition, the Yokohama Parada Spec-X is a popular tire, and more recently, the General G-MAX. I know the G-MAX has received favorable reviews as all seasons on cars with similar weight/GVW ratings (like the Ford Taurus), so it should work reasonably well in this application also. -
2011 Strut Mount: Ford BR3Z-18183-D / Motorcraft AD-1100 Note the mount for the 2007-10 is a different part number (Ford 7T4Z-18183-A/Motorcraft AD-1050).

2015 Ford Edge Engines: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Chipster's topic in EcoBoost
I have seen it posted elsewhere on the web (Mustang engine, but an example): http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1096208_ford-mustang-ecoboost-less-power-on-regular-gas 2.3-liter four-cylinder rated at 310 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque on 93 premium the engine's output falls to 275 hp and 300 lb-ft when run on regular (87-octane) gasoline Now obviously, a bit of tuning is involved to extract that extra power from the 93 gas. On the 3.5EB, the PCM "learns" what fuel you have in the system using feedback from the knock sensor, and uses the corresponding tables (spark/ignition/etc). Maybe the 2011+ Edge does something similar, IDK. -
All I see in the manual is this: Automatic Engine Shutdown For vehicles with a keyless ignition, this feature automatically shuts down the engine if it has been idling for an extended period. The ignition also turns off in order to save battery power. Before the engine shuts down, a message appears in the information display showing a timer counting down from 30 seconds. If you do not intervene within 30 seconds, the engine shuts down. Another message appears in the information display to inform you that the engine has shut down in order to save fuel. Start your vehicle as you normally do. Automatic Engine Shutdown Override Note: You cannot permanently switch off the automatic shutdown feature. When you switch it off temporarily, it turns on at the next ignition cycle. You can stop the shutdown, or reset the timer, at any point before the 30-second countdown has expired by doing any of the following: ā¢ Reset the timer by pressing the brake or accelerator pedal. ā¢ Temporarily switch off the shutdown feature during the current ignition cycle using the information display. See (page 100). ā¢ Press OK or RESET to temporarily switch the feature off during the current ignition cycle. Automatic Engine Restart Any of the following conditions will result in an automatic restart of the engine: ā¢ Your foot is removed from the brake pedal. ā¢ You press the accelerator pedal. You press the accelerator and the brake pedal at the same time. ā¢ The driver safety belt becomes unfastened or the driver door is ajar. ā¢ The transmission is moved from drive (D). ā¢ Your vehicle is moving. ā¢ The interior compartment does not meet customer comfort when air conditioning or heat is on. ā¢ Fogging of the windows could occur and the air conditioning is on. ā¢ The battery is not within optimal operating conditions. ā¢ The maximum engine off time is exceeded. ā¢ When you press the Auto StartStop button while the engine is stopped automatically. ā¢ The heated windshield is turned on. Any of the following conditions may result in an automatic restart of the engine: ā¢ The blower fan speed is increased or the climate control temperature is changed. ā¢ An electrical accessory is turned on or plugged in. Note: The system allows multiple successive Auto StartStop events, but it may not operate in conditions of heavy traffic or in extended low speed operation. 2015 Edge OM AutoStartStop Info.pdf

If the hazard button/switch is capacitative, it could indeed be the culprit as mac said. You can get a hard button switch now I think instead so the problem is less likely to recur. The other possibilities could be wiring and/or a fault in the BCM. If there are no other symptoms, these causes are highly unlikely. Link to example of new panel with hard button: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/18249-hazard-warning-lights-turn-on-by-themselves/?do=findComment&comment=136790

Did you hold the old air filter up to a strong light or to sunlight to see if it was "blocked" anywhere? Didn't seem to have obvious crud buildup on the outside. Too bad there wasn't a part number on that thing. Don't touch the MAF, you might jinx a good thing!!! Let's see how the PCM handles the altered airflow
