  1. Welcome to the forum, freshprince, gorgeous ride you've got there! Have you previously owned Fords? Put up some pics of your other rides as well Enjoy!
  2. Glad the service manager agreed to make the swap & Hope it's the fix.
  3. That royally sucks, sounds like a replacement is in order. Quarter or bigger can't be filled, IIRC. Maybe you can up your glass coverage and file later if needed?
  4. The blower fan in mine makes a buzzing sound when coming to a stop, but ONLY in cold weather. Works OK otherwise. No clue if it truly performs at all setting levels though.
  5. You did very well, fishx, like mac said, with good driving habits, you can really extend the tires' lifespan.
  6. Sorry to hear of the shabby treatment you received, Neci. You can always PM FordService (Tricia) on this forum to give your opinion of the dealership & their response to the situation. Need to have 5 posts tho, you can make "test" ones here: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11866-test/page-6 You'll be glad to know you were not sitting on a 3,000 lb bomb, but distressed that it was actually a 4,500 lb bomb Seriously, I would definitely make the dealer drive it around and let their family assume the risk, if they make light of how you feel! Were the brakes working properly when you got it back? 10 months is a loooong time! May need the fluid flushed & at least the caliper pins/slides serviced to prevent problems with rotors & pads.
  7. If the Z8 product worked for you, maybe you could tint the lens (with film or sprayon product) so it's only as bright as you prefer it to be? I know it changes the appearance when the bulb is not lit, but ... I continuously point to DriveBright.com/Dan for lighting purposes, so I'll be consistent here as well And welcome to the forum, Jordan, gratz on the new ride!
  8. You mean like this? http://www.autoanything.com/policies-and-programs#returnpolicy The in-channel visors, for example: http://www.autoanything.com/deflectors/61A2939A0A0.aspx
  9. Probably more apparent at low speeds because the "environmental" noises are at a minimum so it gets emphasized.
  10. There's a subforum dedicated to the 2015 Ford Edge & Lincoln MKX. Good reading As for the condensation in the taillamps: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/18864-taillight-condensation/ EDIT: Welcome to the forum & Edge ownership! I hope you get this issue resolved ASAP, and the Edge remains troublefree afterwards.
  11. EATC Module (Climate Control Module) The dual-zone EATC module provides an interface for the vehicle occupants to control the climate control system, or automatically controls the climate control system in the AUTO mode. The dual-zone EATC module has a vacuum fluorescent display for displaying set temperature, airflow direction, blower speed and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). An on-board diagnostic (OBD) feature is incorporated to supply the technician with DTCs. These DTCs help direct the technician to the inoperative component.
  12. This type of info is always needed! Thank you.
  13. If you want to call them: EGR Automotive North America 4000 East Greystone Drive Ontario, CA 91761 United States Phone: 909 923 7075 Fax: 909 923 0945
  14. Not much of a service center if they don't know codes can be set without the CEL being on. You can have them pulled by any major auto store like AutoZone/Advance Auto for free. Definitely run through the checks in my previous post, though I suspect transmission or PTU fluid involvement at this point, pending further data.
  15. I assume you rechecked the codes and it is all clear? Simply replacing the fan assembly should not cause the "new" problems. When you are driving on a flat road, do any of these problems show up, and if so, to the same degree as driving downhill? The sound you describe may be engine braking ... Have you checked the transmission fluid (and if AWD, the PTU/RDU fluids)? Did you check the brakes, are they working ok & in good condition? Did you check the belts for slippage? How many miles do you have on your Edge to date? EDIT: Check the exhaust system for leaks, can make car sound very loud ...
  16. Comparing the Motorcraft to the Titan product, Titan's: A] viscosity is lower, which is want for COLD temperature performance; significantly lower at -30C than Motorcraft so for this B] flash point is higher I would like to know pour point and all the other goodies that US oil specs provide, but on the surface, the TITAN SUPERSYN F ECO-B 5W-20 seems like a no-brainer. I haven't read any reviews of this oil, though, so I don't know more. Remember, it's not all about flow, it's about how well the oil protects the engine, which involves additive packs. The only tests I have seen for wear & tear are those flouted by Amsoil, and I don't know if those are impartial, being conducted by Amsoil. Not comprehensive by any means. For example: http://www.amsoil.com/performancetests.aspx A Study of SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oils (G3115) http://www.amsoil.com/international/distributor/ Looks like you should give the Titan Supersyn a go first, see how it performs. If you can find Mobil1 AFE 0W20 (ask the distributor/retailer), I'd try that as well.
  17. The Mobil1 AFE 0W30 oil should be fine to try, if you want to try a 0W30 oil. Compare the specifications for the Motorcraft 5w20 synthetic blend oil to see how close (or not) the individual characteristics (viscosity, density etc.) are. Apart from relying strictly on the Ford specification Mxxxxxx or Wxxxxxx, these characteristics will tell you if the oil is what you are looking for. Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 5W20 PDS.pdf SAE Grade 5W-20 API Service GF-5/SN Specific Gravity @ 60°F (15.6°C) 0.860 Density, lb/gal 7.17 Flash Point, COC, °C (°F) 206 (402) Viscosity: cSt @ 100°C 8.7 cSt @ 40°C 50 cP @ -30°C 5,200 Viscosity Index 164 Pour Point, °C (°F) <-42 (<-44) So, comparing the AFE 0W30, you see that the AFE: A] viscosity in general is higher at different temperatures, indicating better use for hotter climates (e.g., summertime in your area) B] viscosity index is slightly higher, indicating better consistency throughout the operating range C] flash point is higher, also good (more heat stable) C] pour point is lower, so will work in even lower temperatures than the Motorcraft oil In summary, I would prefer NOT to use this oil, especially in COLD temperatures, simply because of the viscosity. Would be great for HOT temperatures though. COLD temperatures, the Motorcraft oil wins.
  18. Try contacting EGR USA. At one time they were a sponsor on this forum, might still be. They have some nice products for the Edge, and hopefully for the 2015MY as well.
  19. If you see an ODO DATA ERROR message, def time to replace the TSS/OSS sensors. If the dealership does replace one of the two, try and get them to replace the other as well. No point in doing the work "twice".
  20. LiquiMoly is another well known name in engine lubricant circles. The LiquiMOLY Special Tec AA 5W- 20 meets the spec required by Ford, so if you wanted to try it, you should be fine. Took a bit of searching, but here is their technical data sheet: https://pim.liqui-moly.de/pidoc/P000335/7657-SpecialTecAA5W-20-8.0-en.pdfLiqui-MOLY Special Tec AA 5W-20 Technical Data Sheet 7567.pdf Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 technical data info here: http://www.mobil.com/Belgium-English/Lubes/PDS/GLXXENPVLMOMobil_1_ESP_0W-30.aspx 19mpg on the highway is pretty low to me. I get anywhere from 19-26 mpg (warm weather) or 17-23 mpg (cold weather) depending on terrain and of course driving style These are not long road trips either, but are calculated only on the highway portion of the trip. Yeah, it could definitely be an engine problem. But some part of it could be caused by running incorrect oil for a long period of time. Maybe a boroscopic examination of the valves and intake will yield a clue. Oxygen sensors are another item notorious for "killing" mileage.
  21. Think it's a Cyber Monday deal on the VisionX product? Going for it?
  22. I have installed the WeatherTech product, reasonably good. The higher the speed, the less open the window can be. Also, dirt/grit may accumulate in the channel, so need to keep the windows pretty clean.
