  1. Looking forward to your experience with it (and install video ), mac. For those interested: http://filterminder.com/products/visual-mechanical-indicators-gauges/air-filter-restriction-monitoring-gauges-indicators/air-filter-restriction-monitoring-gauge-dial.html
  2. Does the product have a bulb-like casing around the emitters, or are they "naked"? vLEDs use a casing to improve dispersion, should help even with projector headlights.
  3. Which fuse did you pull, Harley, to make it stop buzzing? Could be a fault in the headlamp switch (did you have it on AUTO or MANUAL?), or the Multifunction Switch (the turn signal lever).
  4. On the halogens, some tab trimming would have helped change orientation (essentially increasing flexibility).
  5. Yeah, those hills can be a real torture test Nice pic of the new ride, are you planning on tint any time soon (don't forget the BAMR if you have it)? Really like the wheels as well.
  6. The tolerance in wheel/tire height re: AWD is usually +/- 3% for other Ford model lines, so probably the same for the Edge. Not sure how it accounts, if at all, for different wheel widths.
  7. Wow, that's def a bad experience, Anna, hope you are 100% ASAP! Can't imagine why the obstacle detection didn't work on the Edge, may need a Ford Engineer to look into this. Consider having the issue escalated at the dealership, or, if they don't want to, you can PM FordService on here. This is not a small issue, and should be properly addressed.
  8. Supposedly you can use D2R and D4R HID bulbs in reflector housings: https://www.reddit.com/r/cars/comments/1nih24/a_guide_to_hidxenon_lighting_systems_and_why/ https://www.theretrofitsource.com/components/bulbs/d2r-philips-85148.html Light dispersion of HID in halogen vs HID projectors: As far as the "dimpling" (Fresnel lens), the explanation might be similar to why they do it on household bulbs: "As a general rule of thumb, if the glass covering the PAR lamp is dimpled then the bulb has a wider (flood) beam spread. PAR lamps with a narrow beam (spots) have smooth glass covering the reflector." The dimpling may also accomplish scattering of chromatic aberrations, so if used on HID projector lenses, may not give the sharpest cutoff.
  9. Maybe sandpaper (fine grit) the contact areas a bit?
  10. Good list, if you are going to do all that, and can do the wheel hub/bearings, that would be a plus for sure. Swaybar/stabilizer bar bushings as well. Add a PCV valve along with the spark plugs to your list.
  11. Possibly need to do a KAM reset so that the PCM recognizes the new sensors. Also, may need TCM (trans control module) recalibration. KAM Reset procedure: The PCM will have to relearn after the KAM reset, so be patient I would ask the dealership to make sure the PCM and TCM calibrations are uptodate while the vehicle is there. They should do it for free, especially seeing the major inconvenience to you. Let them do the KAM reset if you trust them, or do it yourself.
  12. Well, there WAS no appearance cover OEM to the SEL trim line, but if the standoffs are there, you can try EBay or your local junkyards. Look for SEL Plus or Limited trimmed vehicles. The MKX one might fit also, if you don't mind that.
  13. Ok, the OSS/TSS sensors, I take it? Did you get an 'ODO DATA ERROR' message at all, or simply the "dashes" right away?
  14. Where did you get the oil change done? Was 5W20 oil used? If thicker oil was put in, it could have jammed up the variable timing phasers, though the spec would have to be significantly over, I'd think, like 5W40 or 10W40 ... A Motorcraft filter is still one of the best filters for the Edge, max life of 5,000 miles or so.
  15. Wow, I hope it turns out to be a relatively minor issue, but sounds like a possible timing chain (or sprocket)/oil pressure issue. See one happened to one forum member: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/17006-35l-an-interference-or-non-interference-engine/ Had it been running fine since the coil was replaced? For others' reference: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/17128-2008-ford-edge-se-error-code-p0171-p0201-p0301/
  16. Your Edge is killin' it now!
  17. Good info, and glad you got the issues taken care of. Probably the right thing to do to let the PCM relearn if nothing else works, see if the problem resolves.
  18. Can't see ... 4 the life of me
  19. If a CIVIC snuck into the list, we'd need a FOCUS in there as well
