How do I reset the TPMS for winter tires?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to roadkill401's topic in Wheels & Tires
It takes some 10-20 miles of driving to let the sensors reset themselves. Have you put that much mileage on them already this season? -

Can be difficult for sure! Talk to Dan at Drivebright, he can get you squared away on what's possible, what's not at this time. -
2011 Edge limited Driver door ajar issue
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Racerb0y's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
FlowerPower, you'd need to PM FordServiceCA in Canada for assistance. Need 5 posts minimum before you can use the PM feature. You can use the TEST forum for the remaining posts if you like. -

There aren't any FOG lamps per se for the 2011+, that's why you couldn't find them. They are LED light bars. Replacements/upgrades are recommended from DTBL/DriveBright.com. I have heard that EBay may offer some options as well. -

Misfire -> tuneup; Now MAJOR lack of power + horrid mpg. Help!?!?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Wetdream's topic in 3.5L
Goodness, that's a while to be laid out! Hope you are well past it now and rooting for ya. Happy New Year, and best wishes! Have you reviewed the responses to your original query? Start there. Of course, winter gas kills 10% of mpg's right away, but still ... Make sure you use the recommended Motorcraft oil & filter for your Edge, it can make a significant difference in fuel economy. Do you know if the battery is the original battery by any chance? Have you had the codes cleared (Advance Auto/Pep Boys/AutoZone should be able to do it for free) and see if they pop up again? If the CPS are truly an issue, that would definitely explain the bad mileage.- 14 replies

I find both the engine oil & trans fluid dipsticks hard to extract cleanly from the tubes. Engine oil is easily readable, but the trans fluid one, not so much. Strong lighting highly recommended (maybe an LED headlamp?).

An interesting idea, clean work. Probably best when temps are above freezing though. How thick is the plate? Enough to resist vibration?

Car does not recognise keys
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to chris275's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Hopefully a Battery Monitoring System (BMS) reset will not be required, but the usual procedure for the 2011+ is to have the dealer reset the BMS every time a new battery is installed in order for it to be charged properly. One of the downsides to having an "intelligent" system. -
Post #4 forward can be deleted from this thread without harming the OP's intent. Anybody coming here looking for help is not likely to be helped

In park and idling? Sounds like the wheel speed/ABS sensors might have gotten some dirt/rust in them and need cleaning up. Could also be moisture buildup that evaporates on movement. I'd get the connectors cleaned up, add some dielectric grease, close them up & seal them well with electrical tape.

Great to have a good background on your purchase Yeah, that'll buff right out ... UGH!

Welcome, lpuboy, and congrats on the new ride! FWD/AWD? Haven't seen bumper bars on an Edge, looking forward to the mods (& PICS). Maintenance will bring about the greatest reward for your Edge, especially if it has an "unknown" history. So I'd add that to my TO-DO list as well. Spark plugs, PCV valve, trans fluid, coolant, brake fluid, etc. A couple of tanks of fuel injector cleaner (like Techron or BG 44K) couldn't hurt either.
