Are the temps very cold when you first start the engine? Could be a coldstart/breakin phenomenon.

Your new 2016 Edge review
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Chipster's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
Good luck, on all counts! I had an opportunity to drive a vehicle with backup camera (sorry, not 360), took a bit of getting used to, but definitely helpful. Still should not forgo looking at the left & right sideview mirrors, but rather use as complementary assistance. -

Or a Fusion Sport if a Focus ST outperforms it? -
Show the dealer the SHIFT TO PARK - related TSB(s), that should get 'em kickstarted.
-
Sounds like you need a good servicing dealership. Who are currently going to? Are there other dealerships nearby? If no Ford dealerships, try a Lincoln dealership instead. Report a SHIFT TO PARK issue (faulty shifter), and that the Battery Management System needs resetting. There may be a wheel sensor issue also, but get the shifter fixed first. You can also try PM'ing FordService (the official reps on this forum, Tricia is our current contact) to see what they can do. They are usually more helpful than the phone-in service. You need 5 posts on the forum to PM, you can make test posts here if you like.

2016 will be the last known MY for the SHO, as things stand. Maybe it will be back for 2018, maybe not. Still up in the air. Should at least go test drive the SHO if you haven't already. -

2015 was definitely a challenging model year for the Edge. A lot of challenges to deal with in a very short period amount of time, and hats off to the customers, dealers, and even Ford (to a smaller extent) for perserving to fix the situation/make it right. Hopefully 2016 will make it a distant memory! As far as buying another Ford, indubitably! Maybe not brand new ... -
Bridgestone Duelers, Continental CrossContact, Yokohama Parada SpecX are just some of the well-received tires you can have put on. Tirerack provides a nice comparo here for the all-seasons (shown here for the 2007 AWD): http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=CSTAS You can also look for non-CUV-specific tires (such as the Continental DWS/06) with the same load ratings, but not sure how well they'd perform on the Edge. Look for incentives also on tires. Discount Tire Direct usually provides good incentives along with financing.

If PCM should need to be replaced, a refurbished unit or repairing your Edge's PCM are options, but much "cheaper" to replace coils for now, esp. if not OEM. I think RockAuto had Airtex as low as $20 per a little while back. Don't know how good they are though.

Use the MORE REPLY OPTIONS to make file attachment available to you. There is a file size limit, I think of 4.88MB, should fit most images easily. Or host the pic on a site like photobucket/flickr and link back here.

Any problems with the APIM, melmo? Climate Control Module? The shifter?

Pretty awesome! -
You have to remember that as temperatures drop, so do the CCA's. The CCA rating is for 32F. So, if the temps are below that, and the CCA's are already low, you WILL have the problem. I stand by the battery replacement idea, personally. But sure, you can try replacing the hood pin, or just cleaning it up with a wire brush or #0000 steel wool pad if necessary. Might have some rust/corrosion that is creating extra resistance in the circuit. Coat with dielectric grease before reinstalling.

You can add pics to the gallery, OR when replying, choose MORE REPLY OPTIONS at the bottom of the text box. Then you can attach files/pics to your post.

I don't know if ANY Ford window sticker tool is working correctly right now, but I hope it works for you. Ford seems to be restricting access to this info for the general public in recent months.
