  1. Maybe ... what exactly is that thought in your head?
  2. Ok, now that worries me! You think even the new core has issues? That would be a bummer ... What inline filter did you use btw? I have seen filters for the power steering but not for coolant.
  3. Please take pics of the before & after if you can and post them, Zazzy. Your previous pictorials were very detailed & informative. TIA, and good luck!
  4. Agreed, probably needs weatherstrip replacement or door adjustment. Here's a TSB for weatherstrip replacement on the Taurus, symptoms being the rear scuff plates getting dirty: http://www.revbase.com/BBBMOTOR/TSb/DownloadPdf?id=182773
  5. You mean you want functionality similar to VENT on a manual control system?
  6. Welcome, Sean, sorry to hear the Edge is having issues! Be aware that if the fault was indeed with the coils, it can originate from the PCM (rebuilding PCMs is possible). And yes, there is a TSB for that. Banks 2 & 3 are particularly prone to heatsoak due to proximity to the firewall. What were/are the codes you saw? How many miles on the Edge? That said, leaky/clogged fuel injectors can cause problems as well. High rpm misfires are due to inadequacy of spark, fuel, or both. If spark has been addressed, you are left with fuel, and hence my fear that an injector may be next up for replacement. I assume you have already changed out the air filter and PCV valve with no effect. Tried running fuel injector cleaner like Techron or BG 44K through the gas tank? If you want to try something a little different, add enough TC-W3 oil (marine oil, full synthetic, from WalMart/SuperTech) so you end up with 5oz/tank final ratio at next fillup before pumping in gas. That will also smooth out response significantly and restore "lost" power. It has worked for my 2007 when nothing else has. Even a BG service did not help, if you can believe it! And yes, I always use Top Tier gas (BP or Exxon). Also, I highly recommend testing the Edge for yourself with an OBD II reader and an app on smartphone/tablet to see/log what is going on. Monitor fuel trims, O2 sensors, catalytic converter temperatures, etc. I certainly hope the converters are not glowing red hot!
  7. The whistle could just be parts breaking in, but you might want to find a BG service shop and have the trans flushed after a few hundred miles have passed, just to be sure there's no debris in the trans from the service. I sincerely hope it is not gear whine. At least it's not PTU while since your Edge is FWD http://www.bgfindashop.com/locator/index.php In the meantime, keep checking the dipstick to ensure the fluid is a healthy color, smells like new fluid should, and is filled to the proper level. Check the owner's manual for instructions on how to check these items.
  8. Make sure to use some insulation on the heat shield, preferably on both sides, but definitely on the inside (towards the filter). The heat shield should ideally seal to the hood when the hood is closed, so you can experiment with weatherstripping for that. How about videos/pics of your setup as it progresses? Would be cool!
  9. I hope your dog don't expect the sod every time! Way too comfy.
  10. Welcome to the community, Shane, sorry to hear about the Five Hundred Glad you found your way here though, with your '13 Sport in tow!
  11. Clean it by inserting the capless funnel and twisting it back and forth in the inlet a few times. Don't fill more gas than first click.
  12. Please, someone stop this gift that keeps on giving!
  13. Doesn't Honda retain production capacity in Japan in case demand exceeds output from the American-based plants? Thought I read that just recently ...
  14. You might want to check the sockets the bulbs plug into. Many incidences of the sockets getting burnt out. You can get replacements via RockAuto or EBay, part numbers will be on the sockets for confirmation.
  15. Can you post a pic of what's going on? This is in the taillight assembly, right, not the spoiler/3rd brake light assembly? EDIT: These are the parts included in the taillight assembly - Item Part Number Description 1 W712801 Rear lamp assembly bolts (2 required) 2 13404/ 13405 Rear lamp assembly (RH/LH) 3 13466 Park/ turn/ stop lamp bulb 4 13466 Lower inner rear lamp assembly bulb 5 13466 Upper inner rear lamp assembly bulb 6 13466 Park/ turn/ stop lamp bulb 7 — Rear lamp assembly socket and wire assembly (part of rear lamp assembly) 8 13A457 Lower rear lamp assembly grommet 9 13A457 Upper rear lamp assembly grommet 10 W711031 Rear lamp assembly nut (2 required)
  16. Greasing the slides really isn't optional in the salt belt IMHO. Better to have to clean them routinely than to have them rust & stick & ruin your pads/rotors+ ...
  17. They must've bought their way in, right? No way Ford could have such a presence! NO ... WAY!!! LOL
  18. RainX is a protectant, not a cleaner. It also does not have the durability of Aquapel or other "professional" grade protectants. Works fine as a DIY solution though.
  19. You would have the 2.0 EB in your Edge, right? As with all Ecoboosts, best return on money is to get a tune for your Edge. Normally, you get tunes for 3 fuel grades (eg 87, 91, 93) so you can pick the right one for your fueling habits. A 93 tune will offer the most performance rewards. Unleashed Tuning, Livernois, Leading Edge Tuning are among the top tuners in the Ecoboost game. You can also talk to TuningByJames, see if he's tuned the Edge before.
  20. Upload pics to a sharing site like photobucket, flickr, imgur, etc., then link those pics back here. Buyers will want to see the exact items for sale, and exactly what condition they are in (mint, scratches, etc.).
  21. How do you know the sensors are working, have you scanned them with a tool of some sort? Any incidents/issues involving the rear bumper? If everything else checks out, you may need to replace the Parking Aid Module (PAM). Probably requires a trip to the dealer for configuration. Or ask Circuit Medics if they repair, and if the cost is worth it. Removal and Installation NOTE: Module configuration is only required if a new Parking Aid Module (PAM) is being installed. Upload the PAM configuration to the scan tool. For additional information, refer to Programmable Module Installation (PMI) in Section 418-01 .Remove the LH rear quarter trim panel. For additional information, refer to Section 501-05 .Remove the 2 nuts and the PAM . Disconnect the electrical connector. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Download the configuration information to the PAM . For additional information, refer to Section 418-01 to carry out PMI .
  22. This problem has been known to happen from time to time (cause - unknown), more than likely you will have to get it fixed via the insurance co. Ford will likely not provide coverage, but you can try calling National Customer Service and gauge their response.
