  1. After all of the above are verified ok ... In sequence, we'd be looking for a plugged/restricted heater core (check temp diff between inlet & outlet hoses once the engine has reached operating temp), then temperature blend door actuator, then various circuits for shorts, then the Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM), and finally the HVAC module.
  2. Does the blower work consistently at all fan speeds? Checked the cabin air filter? Manual or automatic climate control? Coolant level checked? Should be at the FULL level when cold/at ambient.
  3. Ridealong with a tech and a black box sounds due ... Did they check the steering gear and rack?
  4. Linky: http://www.iihs.org/iihs/news/desktopnews/first-ever-iihs-headlight-ratings-show-most-need-improvement What the report card looks like: http://www.iihs.org/iihs/ratings/vehicle/v/ford/fusion-4-door-sedan
  5. Welcome to the forum and Edge ownership, SilverLimited, look forward to your experiences with your new ride! It is a great fit for me as well for the reasons you mentioned. Owned Fords before? Previous rides?
  6. Best is to either add attachments to your post (EDIT, then MORE REPLY OPTIONS), or add links from a pic sharing site like photobucket, flickr, imgur, etc.
  7. Do you have the model numbers for the speakers you used? Any pics of the install?
  8. City miles are basically severe duty, IME. Still makes it too early mileage wise, but not that early age wise. But if the fluid is a healthy color, has that new fluid smell, and is at the correct fill level, probably doesn't need to be exchanged. Def make sure no leaks are present. If your Edge is AWD, I'd be more concerned with the PTU. I'd get a second opinion from a reputable service shop (you can find them via Yelp, Repairpal, etc., and actually look at the reviews).
  9. Try them @FordService on Twitter also if you don't get a response here. Sadly, there has been quite a dropoff in their visible presence on this forum.
  10. All done in IDS, Ford's software. So if a shop has access to IDS, it can do it; otherwise dealer.
  11. Video camera not configured after replacement (DTC B115E:55 may be present) DTC B115E:55 sets in the BCM when the video camera is not configured. The video camera needs to be configured through the BCM . CARRY OUT the video camera configuration using the scan tool under Body > RVC Configuration.
  12. One of the advantages of having a 4 They really should put some dielectric grease or something on the ball studs/sockets before installing the covers. Would make removal/installation SO much easier! Thanks for posting your experience, the next owner will be grateful I am sure that this was taken care of!
  13. Welcome to the forum, Jon, great "bio"! Congrats on the family addition, and the acquisition of the '08! Please do put up pics of your rides past & present, also of the TBirds, if you have some you can share ...
  14. Welcome to the community, Bill, glad to have you here! Got pics of your new ride?
  15. With any luck they will! This would be a big win for Ford, and hopefully they are keeping tabs so they can crow about it
  16. Could you post a link? All I am finding is Amalie, Valvoline and Super Tech for Mercon V. TIA! Will do a flush one day for sure! Definitely made a difference even with the D/F. Spree, got pics with the new tint?
  17. enigma probably more of a reference to the WWII German code, but I too am curious!
  18. As far as fuses go, fuse #9 in the passenger compartment fuse panel (under driverside dash) is for interior lights & cargo lamps. #10 is for backlighting & puddle lamps. Pg. 258/9 of the owner's manual (PDF).
  19. I think a major idea behind tire rotation (besides even tire wear) was also to look at what's behind the wheel: brakes, hubs, all that cool stuff Regular inspection can nip problems in the bud.
