What behaviour is your trans exhibiting at low speeds? If the fluid truly looks good and smells correct, then the problem MAY lie elsewhere. But by changing fluid now, you KNOW when to next change fluid, and have peace of mind in the meantime. Just a thought. Could definitely be the compressor cycling on & off that causes the "kick" feeling. Does it happen with climate control off? I'd check the serpentine/accessory drive belt condition. At 80,000 miles, you are approaching spark plug & PCV valve change time. Especially if a lot of driving is city or stopngo traffic.

Clicking on front right wheel? Anyone else?

Belt? Belt tensioner? -
Congrats, I think? Post pics when you can

Beautiful!

Should be. Only for transmission though. Cannot use it for power steering, which still uses Mercon V in 2012 MY.

You can show the repair guys a printout of the thread, and tell them you suspect that the fans are kaput. The Firestone guy may not have been an experienced mechanic, so you got the basic generic advice. Sure, refrigerant could always be low, but if the fans are not coming on, then you got another problem at hand.

Hopefully the independent body shop will figure it out. Take that back to the dealer and to Ford. If you decide to have it fixed by the body shop, keep all documentation for future reimbursement. You will have to pursue Ford, it seems like, though. Which dealer did you go to? There are some friendly dealers mentioned on this forum, if they are close to you, worth going to for a second opinion.

There's airflow when you are driving, but it has to be forced when you are in stopngo especially bumper2bumper because a] no natural airflow, and b] temperatures are higher in stopngo traffic. It is most likely that the fans have failed, although there is a small possibility of other electrical problems, go through the thread I linked to earlier ... How many miles on your Edge?

May be time to get a new Motorcraft fan replacement. RockAuto has some of the best prices around, you can also ask Benny at LevittownFordSuperCenter. Check out this thread http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12731-radiator-fan-assembly-replacement-procedure/ see if it resonates with you.

You can buy off of Ford dealers on EBay, or talk to Benny here (or PM him directly) on this forum, and explain to him what part you need. He can pull up the exact part by the Edge's VIN number, and I believe he can arrange international shipping also.

Not sure exactly what you are looking for, but this is the gear shift parts page for a 2012 Edge: https://secure.revolutionparts.com/levittown-ford/auto-parts/2012/ford/edge/sel-trim/3-5l-v6-gas-engine/automatic-transmission-cat/gear-shift-control-scat Not sure which part your link is replacing, is it #6 in the diagram? EDIT: The kit does say it fits a 2011, so it should fit 2012-2014 (3.5L/6F50 transmission) shifters also.

Look on EBay and on here, they periodically are on sale. Amazon can sometimes have them on sale (Warehouse Deals).

Very dissappointed with 2015 EDGE standard equipment
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to cxxxv's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Are the VINs listed, can you check the mfr date on those 2015s? Curious to know if they are turnarounds (post-"flood"). -
Bump. How's the shielding working out for you, coronan? TIA.

Welcome to Edge-world, tbcota25, congrats on the new ride! Post some pics of both the Speed and the Edge Any mods planned for the Edge?

Could be a bad shifter and/or transmission range sensor. Or maybe the selector lever cable needs to be adjusted to recognize the proper gear it is in. That is something you have to put the Edge on a lift or jackstands to do. Selector Lever Cable AdjustmentDisconnect the selector lever cable end from the manual control lever. Place the selector lever in DRIVE. Place the manual control lever in DRIVE. Rotate the manual control lever clockwise until it stops. Rotate the manual control lever counterclockwise one detent. Unlock the adjuster. Pry the latch up. Push the lock tab to slide it over. Slide the selector lever cable end forward or backward to align it with the manual control lever. With the adjuster locking tab released, connect the selector lever cable end to the manual control lever. NOTE: After locking the adjuster, pull back on the adjuster to make sure it is securely installed. Slide the release tab back to lock the adjuster. Verify that the vehicle starts in PARK and NEUTRAL only and that the reverse lamps illuminate in REVERSE.

Abnormal Steering on the 3.7 Sport

Would be good if that's the fix, but would look pretty bad for the mechanics/techs who should know about these things ... -
2015+ common area - a place to say anything (feel free to pin)
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to 037's topic in 2015 Edge & MKX
If you put the system on HEAT, any trace of the odor? Anything fallen into the windshield cowling? Check the cabin air filter also. Does it smell like burnt milk maybe? That would point to refrigerant/PAG oil, possibly contaminated somehow. -
Wife needs to snap a pic then Welcome to the forum, congrats on the '10 Limited!

Maybe the parking pawl is acting up? I know that when I park the Edge on an incline (backed into the spot), I shift into gear first before releasing the parking/emergency brake OR the brake pedal. Then I have no or minimal clunking/harsh shifting into gear.

Wonder who came up with that crappy procedure? The MKX has you removing the tailgate trim panel instead ...
