    Ford Edge 2012

Jeez, what a neat freak Very cool video Love the color-coordinated wheels. Plastidip or paint?
  3. At the very least, get a second or even a third opinion on the PS. Do you know if the replacement parts were OEM or aftermarket? Some mfrs do a good job, most don't.
  4. Try pg 13 of the brochure? http://www.ford.com/services/assets/Brochure?make=Ford&model=Edge&year=2016
  5. Welcome! How many miles on your Edge, and what trim level? Here's an online brochure: http://www.hillerford.com/v2/resource_library/2007/2007_brochures/2007edge.pdf There's no Bluetooth capability in 2007 in a factory Edge. Are you listening to AM/FM/satellite? Is the antenna on top of the windshield present? You can try replacement antennae from Amazon/EBay etc. How is the sound with a CD? If your Edge has Sirius/satellite radio capability, you can call them (Sirius/XM) up to start a free trial of the service.
  6. Even taking DA into consideration, the 0-60 seems rather high. Have you finished "breaking-in" the Edge as per the OM? And how are you measuring the time? with a handheld device or at the track?
  7. Have you ever changed spark plugs before? The only note of caution I have is a] be careful to get the new plugs started correctly, and b] don't overtorque them once they are tightened a 1/4 turn past "snug". A writeup here if you want to evaluate if this is DIY for you: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/8724-sparkplug-replacement-job-info-with-photos/ Also http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/9008-spark-plugs/ Change the PCV valve at the same time, since you will have done 99% of the prep anyway! Use the correct spark plug for your application, which is SP520 for the 2011 3.5 or 3.7 engines. Gap should be at 0.049–0.053 inch (1.25–1.35 mm). Check gap (with a feeler gauge if possible [Amazon]) or very gently with a dial gauge.
  8. Welcome! The prices quoted are pretty run of the mill for a Ford dealership. This is where DIY'ing comes in handy, because then you are only out the cost of parts (check LevittownFordSuperCenter.com), and your time. Tools can be "rented" at major auto parts stores like Advance Auto, AutoZone, etc. if you need anything special, which you really don't for these things. The cabin filter is especially laughable since it is SO easy to replace and costs so little! My mechanic would charge me $15 bucks in labor (IF he charged me) to replace it. A local service center can perform all these services for you at a substantially lower cost.
  9. Report Receipt Date: MAY 31, 2016 NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V384000 Component(s): AIR BAGS All Products Associated with this Recall Vehicle MakeModelModel Year(s) FORD EDGE 2007-2010 FORD FORD GT 2005-2006 FORD FUSION 2006-2011 FORD MUSTANG 2005-2011 FORD RANGER 2007-2011 LINCOLN MKX 2007-2010 LINCOLN MKZ 2006-2011 LINCOLN ZEPHYR 2006-2011 MERCURY MILAN 2006-2011 Details Manufacturer: Ford Motor Company SUMMARY: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2007-2011 Ford Ranger vehicles, 2006-2011 Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan and Lincoln Zephyr/MKZ vehicles, 2007-2010 Ford Edge, Lincoln MKX vehicles, 2005-2006 Ford GT vehicles, and 2005-2011 Ford Mustang vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan), and the U.S. Virgin Islands, or "Zone A." Additionally, unless included in "Zone A" above, Ford is recalling certain model year 2007-2008 Ford Ranger, Edge and Lincoln MKX vehicles, 2006-2008 Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan and Lincoln Zephyr/MKZ vehicles, 2005-2006 Ford GT vehicles and 2005-2008 Ford Mustang vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia, or "Zone B." Any vehicle not included in "Zone A", or "Zone B" is not included in the safety recall. These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules, and used as original equipment or replacement equipment. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the front air bags, these inflators may rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling. CONSEQUENCE: An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death. REMEDY: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin July 11, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S26. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov. 10. Besides, the search does work on this forum
  11. Mostly highway driving? Hard to believe if mostly city/stopngo driving. Gap growth does sound about right though. You changed the rear injectors again? There are always "oddities" and your Edge could be one of them And, welcome to the forum!
  12. Don't know about the ECU, but yes the fronts are wideband.
  13. Blower or blower resistor going bad. Check the cabin air filter/screen first though.
  14. This site is pretty handy in figuring out bulb sizes: http://www.donsbulbs.com WY21W in particular: http://www.donsbulbs.com/cgi-bin/r/b.pl/wy21w%7C12v%7C21w%7Cw3x16d%7Cnatural-amber~stanley.html
  15. Any codes set in the PCM? Could be a dying battery also, setting false codes. B1317 or B1318. Codes C1145-1175 relate to WSS input circuit failure, RF/LF/RR/LR.

  18. Doesn't seem like it should have killed the pump, but also depends on whether it was at/near end-of-life already. Hard to tell in a post-mortem, maybe a Ford Engineer could.
  19. There's a whole range of products and processes you can use, depending on how into it you are. Wash & wax at a bare minimum, use only brushless car washes if you do use a car wash. Or go to a detailer, have them claybar/polish/protect your ride (should last a couple of years with basic maintenance). Or anything in between. Here's a thread on detailing, if you are interested: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/5535-ask-a-professional-detailer/ Here are a couple of threads on how people DIY'd: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11359-getting-the-sport-ready-for-winter/ http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12336-confessions-observations-from-a-virgin-machine-detailer-huh/
  20. What kind of accident was it, how severe, from what angle? The water pump/coolant pump is also timing chain driven, unlike the belt-driven setup of yesteryear. I have seen the weep holes on the coolant pump cause a few problems over the years, including crankshaft position sensor corrosion & failure in some models. But this is probably the biggest "catastrophe" I have seen it directly responsible for. You'd think head gasket or cracked block, but no, it's the pump.
