Bittersweet experience! Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your "almost delivered" Edge.

Congrats, Jason! From all reports, getting it tuned will greatly add to the enjoyment I guess Ford doesn't think towing is sporty LOL.

Ford vs Audi (Edge/Explorer/F-150 vs Q5/Q7)
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to kmarnes's topic in Competing Crossovers & Vehicles
LOL. Not being against is not quite the same as loving it, tho! I have seen mods done to the Flex that make it look quite good actually. Now if you compare it to a sports car ... -
I do like Audi's styling cues, have for years.

Ford vs Audi (Edge/Explorer/F-150 vs Q5/Q7)
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to kmarnes's topic in Competing Crossovers & Vehicles
Style is the one intangible that can be pretty tricky to get over ... When I was looking to buy my Edge, I really really did not like the big-a** chrome grille, the huge headlamps or the clear tail lamps. But for me, utility won precedence, and it has been a remarkable machine in most respects. I was able to correct the taillight "issue" with units from DTBL, and have learned to "live with" the front end counterparts Most of the time, unless you are not using your vehicle as a daily daily driver, utility will win over style, IMHO. -
I wonder how much of that is due to poor maintenance of the BMW's. It is not an inexpensive proposition w/o a warranty.

Definitely NOT FUN! Glad you are OK.

Where did you get the Audi Q5 numbers from? Have they been officially released yet? -
, Jason, congrats to you & your wife on the '08 Edge! What trim level, FWD/AWD, and how many miles? First Ford?

Much harder to tell, since the pump is internal. Normally you'd look for a leak somewhere on/underneath the engine. Best indicator would be the coolant level going down without any indications of leaks, or coolant starting to look "unclean"/oily. Some slime buildup does happen on the sides of the degas bottle over time as coolant additives break down (normal).

The Motorcraft site is the only one I have seen with all the production MYs available. Others like AllData or Mitchell etc pretty much stop at MY2014 as far as Ford is concerned.

Thank you!

Would you mind giving us your thoughts on it then?

sct tunner is it worth it, dose it make the car a lil quicker
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to jmoney23's topic in 3.5L
If your maintenance is uptodate, then a tune would definitely help make more usable power/torque and possibly gain some mpg in the process. -
Warm weather, sunshine, and miles of open road lure drivers all across the country. With more and more of us taking to the road this summer, it’s important to make sure our cars are prepped and ready for the extra miles. It should be to the right of where the gas pedal is. Item Part Number Description 1 — LH temperature blend door actuator electrical connector (part of 19D887) 2 W712320 LH temperature blend door actuator screw (2 required) 3 19E616 LH temperature blend door actuator Removal and Installation NOTE: The LH temperature blend door actuator can be accessed from below the LH side of the instrument panel to the right of the accelerator pedal. Disconnect the LH temperature blend door actuator. Remove the 2 LH temperature blend door actuator screws. Remove the LH temperature blend door actuator. To install, reverse the removal procedure. NOTE: The purpose of the module actuator position calibration is to allow the HVAC module to reinitialize and calibrate the actuator stop points. To carry out calibration, carry out the following steps. Remove the Smart Junction Box (SJB) fuse 15 for at least one minute. NOTE: When the ignition switch is switched to the ON position, the HVAC module will initialize and calibrate the actuators. Calibration of the actuators will take approximately 30 seconds. Reinstall SJB fuse 15. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and wait 30 seconds before verifying correct DEFROST/PANEL/FLOOR operation.

You are comparing the P7's on the MKC and MKZh, correct? -
I would think carpet & seats would be treated with a spray-type product (Scotchgard for instance), but am curious to see if there is indeed a "film" being used.

Welcome to the community, FTY302! Glad to have an Edge/MKX gearhead among us Quite a mod list! You have the 3.7L, right? Ported the TB instead of using a BBK? Anyway, you are right, there is little to no aftermarket support for these vehicles, and getting projects off the ground if you are not a DIY'r like yourself, is a great way to turn your bank balance upside down. Will be interesting to see what you can do with the trans, strenghthening it would be great! Another member has successfully run nitrous on their 2010 Edge FWD, so a definite can-do project!

WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to tamugrad2013's topic in Wheels & Tires
Pirelli Cinturato P7s are a well received passenger car tire, and I am referring to vehicles in the same weight range as the Edge/MKX. Just don't know how suitable for CUV performance, assuming there's a difference, since a CUV is not really a truck. -

Well, I guess I should stop reviewing then just to prove I am a tiny notch above an "average idiot".
