  1. The FSM doesn't show a way to test the actuator separately. The blend door actuator may be working, partially, such as in a partially stripped gear tooth which used to happen with (non-Edge/MKX) BDA's in years past. Can you post a pic of the BDA in your MKX? Is it visible but not accessible with a tool? I have seen a few posts come through that found that inadequate refrigerant charge can be a culprit in this situation. Have you had the charge verified?
  2. Two possibilities: a) Forscan for Windows has the full capabilities to make changes compared to the Lite versions, and/or they simply have not installed these administrative features yet for the 2015-16 MY.
  3. Welcome to Edge ownership, hope it proves to be a perfect choice! EDIT: EXPLORER ownership (LOL Burrcold!). Regardless, same sentiments apply
  4. Do you normally have AC on (whether on MAX or VENT) during these datalogs? Unless you go WOT, the AC stays running and can delay throttle response.
  5. Since OEM would have mufflers in the 'red' areas, that does look like custom work.
  6. Better to save the files as CSV when sharing/analyzing. FSL only works for viewing with Forscan. I will see if I can get this file to work with my copy of Forscan.
  7. I would go wired too if I could. That will always provide the fastest and most stable connection. It's not the technology in question, it's the device. Too many dropouts with the wifi. No dropouts with the Bluetooth, it's just better engineered IMHO.
  8. I would get their bluetooth MX instead. The Wifi unit is, shall we say, "less than reliable".
  9. Nothing really that specific to 2010. There is a general alert for the PTU on AWD Edge vehicles, regardless of year in the range of 2007-14. The TSS/OSS sensors in the transmission become suspect at mileages over 100,000. Both are less likely to have issues if the fluids have been regularly exchanged. Wheel bearings can also be an issue The best thing to do is to look at TSBs for this model year: http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/Tsb/Results?Year=2010&Make=54&Model=5858 This will give you an idea of how many people have experienced these issues that rose to the level of Ford issuing a TSB and/or a recall. Not meant to scare you, just inform. Make sure the Edge is not involved in the fuel tank recall, and if it is, that the recall work is complete before you take delivery. Chrome clad wheels build up gunk/dirt behind the covers, can cause wheels to be unbalanced and thus "wobbly". Cabin air filter may be in dire need of replacement. Warranty would be good to go with, CPO if possible, so you have some time to discover and correct any hidden issues.
  10. Do you have one of these, CARR142, for how long, and what all do you monitor with it? TIA.
  11. Torque Pro should work fine for that. Forscan Lite is more comprehensive, has more frequent polling if Torque Pro is not enough. As far as support for 2015/16 MYs, you will have to check it out. I do not know offhand if the database has been updated to include them.
  12. None that I know of other than a visual check after pulling the coil off ...
  13. My device is usually dedicated to OBD logging, so I don't really care whether I use BT or Wifi. If you use your primary device as your OBD logger, then you probably cannot use more than 1 Bluetooth connection at a time, and thus no other streaming activity. With wifi, you can set the IP address to static for the adapter, and still have cellular connection, from what I have heard.
  14. Yeah, one of the biggest arguments against 4 wheel drive type vehicles is the maintenance costs. At least you can overcome a basic "flaw" in Ford's PTU design pretty easily.
  15. Software is what gives you the "dealer" abilities. The OBD adapter should be able to read both HSCAN and MSCAN buses to see everything on a Ford vehicle. Make sure the adapter specifies that it supports MSCAN.
  16. Log them at the same time you are doing the tests, and also during normal driving. Not sure about the Windows version, but on the Android/iOS versions, you have to turn on Debugging to capture. The EVAP stuff is the hardest to analyze, but since it is an essential part of the readiness for inspection, good to have the data on hand for future use.
  17. Factory manual would have you remove the PTU (in 2007-14), but it is not necessary to do so, even with the lack of a proper drain plug. Not sure on the 15+, but it looks like there is a drain plug from the fordparts.com pics: http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/RenderIllustration.ashx?id=390180942&f=3&n=F2GZ7A246C Callout Name: 7A010A Part Number Part Description Price Your Price Availability Quantity 7A010A Auto Trans Oil Drain Plug 4WD 2.7L Dual Over Head Cam 4V DI GT V6 GAS/FFV Less Hot Weather Group Hot Weather Improvement Pack 1
  18. Nice machete, LOL! Yeah, mine came with the screen as well, and just as clogged. The OEM blowers don't flow very high, but they are adequate.
  19. Throttle body cleaning, MAF sensor cleaning, spark plug/PCV valve/coil change, air filter change should all be on the checklist as well. Throttle input is intimately connected with transmission shifting. I would not do another flush unless the fluid looks in primo condition (reddish color, no debris/particulates,etc). Instead, I'd do a 3x drain & fill. If you REALLY want to, you can try a product like Lubegard's Shudder Fixx.
  20. You need a connection to the OBD system, ie via the OBD port to hook up to the software. So you need to buy a Bluetooth or Wifi OBD adapter ($20 if you don't intend to leave it in all the time) and up for those. I use the OBDLink MX (bluetooth, avoid the WiFi), and have gotten 2+ years out of it so far, always plugged in.
  21. No issues thus far, thank goodness! I believe one member did change the PTU fluid very early on, and it looked fine.
  22. Some of it is the stock tune the Edge comes with. A] fuel economy, and B] saves the transmission also. But it should be more like a half second delay or thereabouts. The graphs were made with engine warmed up? They still have me leaning towards a throttle body issue. Have you checked that the electrical connector is seated properly? You will have to also look carefully to see if there is dirt/corrosion in the connectors. I would definitely pull off the throttle body, remove the TPS, and check to make sure the gears on the throttle body side are not damaged, and that there is no carbon tracking or damage to the TPS side. If there are no obvious issues, I would order and replace the TPS anyway. Are you monitoring fuel trims, O2s, catalytic converter temperatures, and EVAP performance? At a minimum, I'd log those parameters, along with RPM, speed, etc.
  23. You mean something like this? http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19813-how-to-change-gauge-cluster-lighting-color/
