  1. That does sound more like a torque converter issue to me.
  2. The battery current sensor is what that part is called, IIRC. And yes that is part of the Battery Management System, or kind of a "smart charging" system on the 2011+ Edge (and MKX, probably).
  3. That's a lot of dough! We get charged $120 or so USD in our non-Ford shops for 4wheel, a little more for "free realignments" over the following yr/2 yrs.
  4. Make sure the headlights are aligned properly. Not uncommon to be off-kilter from the factory.
  5. Custom shops will have higher costs per unit, sadly. Some may be happy simply by deleting the mufflers. IDK for this particular application, but it sounds pretty good on others (all personal choice, of course).
  6. Some of Ford's halogen projectors work very well with HID, most not so much.
  7. RECALL Subject : Fuel Leak from Cracking In The Fuel Pulse Damper Report Receipt Date: JAN 06, 2014 NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V002000 Component(s): FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE Potential Number of Units Affected: 27,933 Manufacturer: Ford Motor Company SUMMARY: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Edge vehicles manufactured from September 2, 2010, through April 25, 2013, and equipped with 2.0L engines. The fuel line pulse damper metal housing may crack as a result of an improper manufacturing process. A cracked fuel line pulse damper housing may result in a combination of fuel odor, weepage, or a continuous leak while the fuel system is pressurized. CONSEQUENCE: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a fire. REMEDY: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel line with one that does not have a damper, free of charge. The safety recall is scheduled to begin on February 28, 2014. Owners may contact Ford at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 13S13. IMPORTANT: This recall supersedes recall 12V-438. All vehicles that have been remedied under the previous recall need to have the current remedy applied. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov
  8. How many miles on your Edge? The most frequent issue with the transmission is actually the TSS/OSS sensors, which coordinate input and output speeds. A much less frequent issue is the torque converter. The least frequent issue is burnt clutches. So the Service light (wrench) comes on? Do you have a pic of the lights at the time by any chance? I am thinking its most likely the TSS/OSS sensors that need to ber replaced, along with a complete drain/fill of the fluid. Could be a vacuum leak also, but doesn't sound like it.
  9. Which fuel line are you looking for? Do you have AWD or FWD? Possible to post pics?
  10. Rooting for an easy fix! Wonder if it's the PATS module and/or the instrument cluster ...
  11. Would be good if it really is a software issue. Not so good if it is a hardware issue covered up by a software patch.
  12. WOuld be much cheaper to have it done at a 3rd party shop if it comes to it. Nothing special about it, except remembering to be careful with the stoplamp switch position. Parts will eventually fail, parts like this should not fail at 20,000 or 50,000 miles. But beyond 100,000 miles is the gray area. What is the normal service life of a brake booster, assuming the vehicle is properly maintained.
  13. Good idea to check the window sticker to see if options/features are missing in actual deployment. Happens with hardware too, like missing buttons for Traction Control, for example.
  14. As long as they are not the "most wanted" on the theft list LOL!
  15. "Basic" colors are easier to appreciate. "Electric Spice" is NOT a basic color by far. It definitely stands out in a crowd, but at the same time, likely divides the audience.
  16. MRT perhaps? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTqCOrqIBGA
  17. This might be the filter you need http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gasket-Ford-7T4Z-7H200-A-NEW-/282068081936 Part number 7T4Z-7H200-A
  18. Motul is a good brand, as long as the shop is using the correct weight oil, you should be fine. 75W140 for the PTU, 80W90 for the RDU.
  19. You wouldn't happen to have any pics of the problem part/area, would you? TIA.
  20. Nice times! Still on OEM rubber? The trick to master with the tree is starting to ease off at the yellow so you are all set to go at the green.
  21. Possibly a sensor that needs some cleaning (lost some sensitivity) or is in early stages of failure. In more "advanced" cases, the ABS tone ring would be another possibility, as the "teeth" are known to break or the ring itself could crack. Do you have manual or automatic climate control? Is your Edge under warranty? If you start hearing a clicking noise, that is very likely a blend door actuator on its' way out.
