  1. Any problems BEFORE changing the plugs? What were the old plugs gapped at? There is always a possibility that the PCM is the core problem here with plugs that have not been changed soon enough. What other gaskets were changed? What did you clean the MAF with? Did you change the PCV valve as well?
  2. What is the build date on your 16? If you have the VIN, you can look it up here Https://www.etis.ford.com You can take the relevant TSBs to the deaker and show them whats what. Sounds like you talked to a service advisor? You may need to work it up the chain to get answers. Insist on being assigned a case number if nothing else, so you can loop in Ford if needed.
  3. I assume you have a 2011-14 Edge? Very common, and the resolution is to get a new shifter. A search on the forum should bring up a large thread devoted to this issue.
  4. Wow. This battery original to the MKX? Possibly overtorqued terminal, or just a weak point in the case? Glad you could get it done under warranty.
  5. Ford takes things SLOW. But with enough persuasion, they have been known to offer backchannel support, so we have to keep pushing
  6. Looking forward to this project, Tony. Hope it works as well as they show in the video, and is reliable. Like omar said, sourcing replacement parts would definitely be a ? on my list. I have no issues (at the present time) with the manual liftgate on my Edge, but I have watched my wife struggle with it, so I can understand. Good luck!
  7. I tried converting via excel, came out with a 1993 date LOL. So yeah not a straight conversion ...
  8. Is it the one of the latest iPhones? If you plug into the builtin USB ports, you will definitely overwhelm them. IMHO, the ports have always been underpowered. The best solution is to get a compact USB charger for the power point, that knows what is plugged into it. Like this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00ISGCAJM/
  9. While I am all for sleeper status, I also feel we have been waiting long enough for a world class Edge. Ford has finally given us the foundation, and we should take advantage of it. It takes a year or longer to get major custom parts such as coilovers made, but it is a lot easier to get bolton engine mods in place, be they hotpipes, downpipes, what have you. Ford doesnt really acknowledge anything but the F150 and the Mustang, their bread and butter. Doesn't mean we shouldn't show up to the party.
  10. Breaking that mindset has been a challenge. The 3.5s have proven to.have quite a bit of headroom, not sure about this new generation yet. At least there are some gofast parts for the 3.5, thanks to pioneering efforts by small businesses, and by LME in particular. I am not sure the Focus would have had as many options were it not for the existing massive ricer market.
  11. On a side note, macbwt is almost caught up to your Edge with his 2011 (currently at 167K)
  12. To be fair, the Gen 2 Sport is the first Edge that has real potential in the Go Fast department. I only hope the aftermarket supports it better than prev Gen's ...
  13. FlyByForte is a product Richy uses for the windshield, but he may have updated recommendations, as new products get introduced all the time. The rest of the glass ... CQuartz Finest.
  14. Completely different engine & layout. There is only 1 bank in this 4 cylinder engine. Did you reset the codes and see if they came back? p0012 possible causes Camshaft timing incorrectly set Continuous oil flow to the VCT piston chamber Erratic camshaft position due to low oil pressure Oil flow restriction in the oil passages or the VCT valve body VCT11 solenoid valve stuck open VCT11 circuit open VCT11 circuit short to voltage VCT11 circuit short to ground VPWR circuit open Camshaft advance mechanism binding (VCT unit) Damaged VCT11 phaser Damaged camshaft position 11 (CMP11) sensor CMP11 sensor circuits open CMP11 sensor circuits short to voltage CMP11 sensor circuits short to ground Radio frequency interference Could be as simple as a loose pin in teh wiring loom. p0299 possible causes: Damaged turbocharger (TC) wastegate regulating valve solenoid TC wastegate regulating solenoid valve stuck Wastegate stuck open Wastegate control hose open or plugged Air leak between turbocharger and throttle Could be just a bad wastegate/actuator.
  15. For the EATC systems, there are two temperature blend doors, one on the drivers side, one on the passenger. The remaining two are probably to direct airflow. Since the problem afflcts both sides of the cabin, it may be the climate module also. Just keep in mind.
  16. 300 is a pretty standard price with plugs and pcv valve included. I think it is reasonable for a dealer rate.
  17. I doubt it, given that it's been 8-9 years since the vehicle was manufactured. The warranty is for "perforation", meaning the rust has to create a hole for it to be a warrantable item.
