  3. Well, the smallest size you can go with is likely to be the size of the OEM spare tire, I am not sure what size the wheel is on that. Fordparts.com is not showing me a part number or listing, unfortunately. What year Odyssey? Are 17" wheels available from Honda? If so, then 17" can work. But what works for one car does not necessarily work for another. You should stay within the manufacturer's specs for safety, and the spare wheel diameter is the smallest you should go.

  5. OEM offers varying sizes, so you can "downsize" with little ill effect. The key is keeping OVERALL tire height the same.   6. Sorry to hear, Randy. If you are not far out of warranty, talk to Ford directly at their 1800 number, or on Twitter @fordservice I think. They may make a goodwill adjustment for you. Then get a Ford Premiumcare plan to cover future incidents. I assure you, the peace of mind will be well worth it. Buy the plan online for the best rates.
  7. Hmm, maybe friction modifiers will help then. Some aftermarket brand oils come with FMs in them already. Ford may have such a product for the oil used in your Edges transmission. All in all, I would keep an eye on this behavior, if it persists or gets worse, have the oil serviced at a minimum to get the issue on record.
  8. How many miles on your Edge? Have you fueled up multiple times and had this issue happen? Any CELs? Have you checked for codes in the PCM (wont necessarily throw a light)? Do you fill past the first click? If so, it could be the canister is saturated, or that the EVAP purge valve is sticking. The other possibility is the throttle body needs to be cleaned and/or replaced. So I would try cleaning the throttle body first with MAF/electronics cleaner. It may take some elbow grease, as the cleaner is not very strong. If you use carb cleaner, be sure to wipe off as soon as possible, as it is corrosive to the coating on the throttle plate. Clean the MAF sensor also, but ONLY with MAF cleaner. Check & replace air filter if need be.
  9. Could be the shifter, could be the transmission itself. I don't know whether this transmission has a drain plug, if so, you could have new fluid put in (yes, I know, this is a new Edge ). Get the salesperson to let you drive another Edge similar to yours, see if the problem exists there as well. If it does, most likely that is the nature of the transmission. Doesn't mean there's an issue or not an issue.
  10. They do! On the 2015 SEL I rented, the liftgate was manual, though the struts seemed beefier than in 2007-14. On the SE/SEL, you have to get the Cargo Utility Package for this feature.
  11. Speaking in general, Ecoboost engines are turbocharged engines. They have come a LONG way from Ford's experimentation with them in the 1980s. Every component is better, the cooling is better, etc etc etc. BUT they do require that you use good fuel and good oil every time, as turbocharged engines by nature are not as forgiving as naturally aspirated (such as the 3.5/3.7) engines. It usually takes a few years for problems to show up, but when it does, the labor cost of replacing the turbos can be quite high, mainly due to location. That is where a warranty pays off. In addition, there can be oil leaks from the supply lines to the turbo. There are issues also with the carbon buildup on the back of the intake valves in direct injected engines for every manufacturer, but Ford is actually at the forefront of dealing with this problem This buildup happens because fuel does not wash over the intake valves en route to the combustion chamber. Lately, Ford has taken to implementing an additional sensor or two that may help make this problem quite negligible. Time will tell. Not to say these problems WILL happen, but they CAN happen. Given proper "feeding" and servicing of trans/coolant fluids the risk of such an event should be minimal.
  12. The throttle body issue is actually on the 3.5L, which is truly the "mature" engine in the Edge; initially the fix was PCM re-calibration, now they are replacing the TB entirely. The 2.0L in the 2015 is second generation (2012-14 was first gen), so it is a bit of an unknown, BUT I don't think there are any significant issues reported so far. If you intend to keep an Ecoboost Edge for any significant period of time, you should have an extended warranty, such as PremiumCare FordProtect from Ford, or budget it in. No idea on the PTU on the 2015+, as it seems to be a somewhat different design from the 2007-14. Ford does keep revising the PTU, having gone through at least 7 of them for the 2007-14. If you get deep snow/ice, you should consider winter tires, as they will be >>> than AWD. So FWD + winter tires will be at least > AWD.

  15. Could be the other tube/hose that is leaking, and/or the thermal bypass valve. Once the engine/transmission are cool, you can spray down (not with a pressure washer though) the cooler and radiator to get rid of old deposited fluid. Once the water is dried off, check for the leak again. A fluid exchange might help if it is an issue with line pressures. Fluids can gum up mechanicals and electricals if left sitting too often. After that, may need to add a stabilizer meant for stored fluid, like they have for gasoline.
  16. With new struts and initialization done, I would be looking at the liftgate motor and associate wiring next. Will have to look in the FSM to see if there is something specific of help.
  17. Replace the struts would be my first impulse suggestion. OEM is probably your best option, followed by Sachs and possibly AMS. Other than that you can try the liftgate initialization procedure.

Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B1081, B1082, B1083, B1086, B11E5, B11E6, and/or B11E7 may or may not be present in the heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) module. Program the HVAC module to the latest level calibration using IDS version 100.01 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraftservice.com. For claiming, use causal part 19980 and applicable laboroperation(s) in the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual, Section 10.
  19. Good luck, would be a relatively simple fix. Make them put a dab of dielectric grease in there.
