A trans shop can likely do trans, ptu, and rdu for 250 or less. Coolant probably another 100 or so.

I'd be happy if they deliver on their "promise"! If a service is not available, then the cost discussion would be moot.

Get it detailed and sealed as soon as you get it. That way wash days will be much easier on your back & your patience

Dealers Recommends Full Synthetic

Stole it from the power co! -
Costco gas works well, and is usually one of the cheapest in the area. They keep the lines moving as well, at least here in MD, with attendants on duty to field questions and even mop up spills. Pretty sure they require a membership card tho.

Can't argue with a "hi-roller" Higher viscosity oils are used in older engines as they age precisely for the reasons you mentioned, autom8r, this Cyclone line ... data is still in the gathering stage, we are living the history, so to speak. -
2016 Edge won't start on 20 degree weather

They sell Battery Tenders at our Costco, fairly cheap at around 30$ I think. HEET is also a nice product, 2$ or less after discounts at the local auto store. -

Good to know. Yeah, I knew the 5W20 was for CAFE. But it is hard to decide to change viscosities when oil isn't just cooling the engine but also controlling the timing. I am trying to remember whether macbwt used 5W30 in his 2008 Orange Crush or not, but towards the "end" he did use High Mileage type oil to slow/stop a leak from a seal or two. I will give 5W30 (full synthetic) a go next time, am running Mobil1 EP 0W20 in it for now, and it feels pretty good. -

Isn't 5W20 recommended for the 3.5 NA engines, autom8r? How long have you been running the 5W30? -
great observations, autom8r!

Check the PCM for codes, any major auto parts store will do it for free. You can do it yourself also with an OBD II adapter and smartphone/tablet/software. If there is something the matter, it should eventually set a code. The fact that this is happening so far apart and about the same conditions means it is probably not something major, but could be a wiring issue or a sensor issue. I would have the oil pressure switch/sensor connections checked/cleaned. If the servicer is not careful, oil can contaminate the oxygen sensor and oil p switch. I would try another dealership in your area. The reviews on Vista's service lately have been quite negative.

Lazy bum of an Edge LOL! Does it crank properly at least, or not even that? The battery could be weak, yes, even though it's been in there less than 3 years. -
Actually, they did introduce a "Sport" model in 2009. Strange, huh? Really mostly in non-powertrain updates, unlike 2011+ Sport Includes all the standard Edge SEL features, plus: • 20" premium painted-aluminum wheels (shown above with optional 22" wheels) • Unique front and lower fascias • Body-color door cladding and side-skirt rocker molding • Unique headlamp and taillamp blackout treatment • 31/2" bright exhaust tips • “SPORT” badge • Contrast stitching on leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel • Leather-trimmed seats with Alcantara® suede inserts • Unique dark brushed finish on centerstack panel • Ford SYNC In addition: Sport Premium Package Dual-zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Control with particulate air filter, Universal Garage Door Opener, security approach lamps, heated front seats and sideview mirrors with memory, 6-way power fold-flat front-passenger seat and power liftgate (Available on Sport) No towing pkg available on Sport.
