Looks really nice! -
How many miles on your Edge? Normally I would say TSS/OSS for the 2007-10. Yours being a 2011, I would say throttle body. Next time, don't restart. Tow immediately to the dealer, as the code will get wiped out if you restart.

Sorry to hear, but glad warranty covered it. Regular fluid R&R should help extend service life. What symptoms did you experience? What was their diagnosis?

Looks like the seal for the exhaust (?) VCT solenoid on bank 2 is leaking. Dunno if that is covered under warranty, how many miles do you have on your 14 and what kind of warranty? Have you cleaned it up before and checked to see this is not simply from an oil change? Yes, some shops are that sloppy.

:worship: :worship: Hope they inspect the valve body & the solenoid assembly while they gut the trans. -
I find it puzzling that the owner's manual says 8.9 quarts as a dry fill capacity for the cooling system, while the FSM says 10.7-10.9 quarts. If the FSM is correct, you may need to perform at least one more D/F to get it mostly exchanged out. BTW, where did you see the 60K interval for coolant? I found instructions for special operating conditions for trans fluid, but not coolant. Normally 1st change is 100K, then every 60K thereafter. BUT I applaud your changing it earlier, as that will likely save the water pump in the long run. Water pumps easy to change on these engines compared to the 3.5.

That's probably true, I have only done about 50 in mine in a cloverleaf, no issues.

I would think you need something at least as resistant as JetSeal. My preference leans towards CarPro and Opti products. HydrO2 is an easy to apply product, and not very expensive. You can seal the entire exterior of your car with it, very friendly product. Otherwise you can always step up to CQuartz/CQF/etc. Similarly with OptiCoat, OptiGuard, etc.

Another fine post, autom8r!

Nice ride, probably my 2nd/3rd most fav color in the Edge lineup Welcome!!!

I would add a bit to your work. Coat your wheels with a sealant, and also the liner. Will be much easier to clean off afterwards regardless of pad choice. If Raybestos Police pads were available for the Edge, I would use those. BUT EBC yellowstuff, Hawk HP/HPS, Carbotech Bobcat pads are great options. Probably will have to call up the mfr and see if they have a product. It may be listed for Mazda but not for Ford, for example. Ceramics are harder on rotors, I am not sure OEM rotors are high-carbon. You would have to have rotors turned anyway if/when new pads are installed, at a minimum.

No tuned gen 2 Edge for you then, Brucifer!

Moderators, please close this thread. Thank you.

There is no IAC per se in these engines. MAF data is used to control throttle body funcion (TPS sensor). So cleaning the MAF (or replacing it) and/or cleaning the TPS sensor/throttle body could be the next step. It is rare for TB issues on the 2007-10, so the probability favors a MAF issue. All this assuming the PCV valve and air filter and all hoses in between are connected & functioning properly.
