  1. zrt, nice writeup on what is probably a much-desired mod!
  2. I put new COPs on mine, so I can't really comment on booting the boot. BUT even at 90K, I did lose a bank 1 boot to the spark plug Glad I had already decided to put in new COPs, not wanting to face PCM failure.
  3. I could not use the link posted (yes I copied the full url). But this one should work https://www.theretrofitsource.com/921-t15-acme-x-51939.html
  4. Could be the IC that stores the code, since it is part of the PATS system? Taken from the 2013 FSM: Module Controlled FunctionsBody Control Module (BCM) The Body Control Module (BCM) is located behind the driver side cowl panel and controls the following: Interior lighting Exterior lighting Dimmable backlighting Battery saver function Delayed accessory relay function Horn Brake shift interlock Power door locks (vehicles without Intelligent Access (IA)) Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system Perimeter alarm Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) (vehicles without IA ) Remote engine start Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Refer to the appropriate section in this manual for system specific information and diagnostics. Battery Saver NOTE: Time-out is 1 minute if the vehicle has less than 80 km (50 miles). To save battery voltage, the BCM provides automatic shut-off of some system controlled components after a time-out period. REFER to Section 417-01 (Exterior Lighting) or Section 417-02 (Interior Lighting) for system specific information. Post Crash Alert Feature The post crash alert is a function controlled by the BCM . If the Restraints Control Module (RCM) determines an impact of enough severity (the air bags may or may not be deployed), the post crash alert function activates. The post crash alert function activates the hazard lamp function and cycles the horn on 3 times, then off for 4 seconds, and repeats this cycle until the battery is discharged or the function is turned off. The post crash alert function can be turned off by: pressing the hazard flasher lamp switch (which may need to be pressed twice). pressing the RKE transmitter UNLOCK button. pressing the RKE transmitter PANIC button. Remote Function Actuator (RFA) Module The Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module (located behind the glove compartment) is equipped on vehicles with Intelligent Access (IA) and controls the following: Power door locks (vehicles with IA ) Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system Key validation (part of the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS)
  5. The thing is, with 4 wheel kits, you can anticipate that the braking is balanced. That is another thing people rarely talk about when upgrading to a BBK. Maybe it is not an issue anymore with Electronic Brake Distribution?
  6. Awesome Save the receipt for refund from Ford.
  7. There are a few choices out there, this is one of them http://www.autoanything.com/nerf-bars/egr-integrated-side-step-running-boards Others: http://www.autoanything.com/nerf-bars/10A50172.aspx For the bug guard, one possibility is the AVS with separate fasteners
  8. How many miles on your Edge? Have you checked coolant level in the degas/overflow bottle? How does the coolant look, is it clean and free of debris/slime? Did your mechanic use aftermarket or OEM parts? When a high-dollar repair is involved, it is best to go OEM unless there is a known superior aftermarket part. Also check your cabin air filter (behind glovebox) to make sure it is not clogged. In which case you might also see lower airflow through the vents. Very common to see this service item neglected. And it is very DIY.
  9. Does seem rather expensive! I wonder if the rates have been raised recently ...
  10. Unless you have an Ecoboost, I am not thinking fuel pump at this mileage at all. So then I would turn to the second most likely mischief maker, which is the throttle body. You can buy and install it yourself if you want that peace of mind. But I would suggest giving the TB and the MAF sensor a good cleaning first. And checking the battery's CCAs. Any major auto parts store can check the battery for you.
  11. Use the Trip 2 meter and let it run. It will reset every 100 hrs I think so kinda keep track of it.
  12. BTW, the rear kit eliminates the emergency/parking brake feature. This is not special to the Rotora kit, you will see it on most mfr's BBKs. In fact, it is rare that you will find a BBK for the rear axle. Wilwood is one of the brands that does offer rear axle kits for FWD vehicles. They don't really have a product for the Edge tho. You can talk to Todd Cook at www.tceperformanceproducts.com if you are willing to take measurements etc, and he can develop a kit for you. Expect similar pricing tho, you can tool around his website to understand Wilwood's product offerings. And yes, macbwt, Todd does have something for Rufus http://www.tceperformanceproducts.com/no-title/kits-57/
  13. Oh i thought you went with the standard wet finger test, but this sounds more ... repeatable.
  14. Btw what rotors and pads did you put on. Not that i think they are the source of the noise.
  15. Yes, and Yes. I think the TB will throw a P2111/2, and the MAF I believe P0100/1/2/3/4.
  16. Nice kit. But how long would it last on the street? Not for the faint-hearted.
