When you say "Ford", Gimp, I assume you meant a dealership? I am going to suggest the obvious: try another dealership, preferably a Lincoln dealership with experienced service techs. Get Ford engineering involved, you do have to ask the dealership to request it tho. The most common boost leak problem has indeed been with loose hoses because Ford in its' wisdom does not clamp all of them on some engines. But it could be a torn seal on a wastgate, or a broken spring therein. obviously the boost leak has not gotten large enough to set a code, but it would be pretty big by then and easy to locate.

So we are sure that 2012 MY (at least for the Edge) onwards, the IOLM does vary as per intention? the following sections seem to support that claim, since there is no mention of it in the 2011 MY OM. 2012 MY owners manual Intelligent Oil Life Monitor™ Your vehicle is equipped with an Intelligent Oil Life Monitor™ that determines when the engine oil should be changed based on how your vehicles is used. By using several important factors in its calculations, the monitor helps reduce the cost of owning your vehicle and reduce environmental waste at the same time. This means you won’t have to remember to change the oil on a mileage-based schedule; the vehicle lets you know when an oil change is due by displaying ENGINE OIL CHANGE DUE or OIL CHANGE REQUIRED in the message center. The following table is intended to provide examples of vehicle use and its impact on engine oil change intervals; it is provided as a guideline only. Actual engine oil change intervals will depend on several factors and will generally decrease with severity of use. not to add fuel to the fire, or oxygen to the gasoline, but, direct quote from the 2011 owner's manual For your convenience, your vehicle is equipped with a message center which determines the proper oil change service interval. You should perform the engine oil change as indicated by the message center. The message center will display ENGINE OIL CHANGE SOON or OIL CHANGE REQUIRED to indicate when an oil change is needed. The engine oil change service needs to be completed within two weeks or 500 miles (800 km) after the OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message is displayed. Your oil change service interval can be up to one year or 10,000 miles (16,000 km). Reset your Intelligent Oil Life Monitor™ after each engine oil and filter change; refer to the Instrument Cluster chapter. If your message center is prematurely reset or becomes inoperative, you should perform the oil change interval at six months or 5,000 miles (8,000 km) from your last oil change. <---- Conservative approach Of course it says nothing about HOW the IOLM actually works.

Hoping to hear from people who have experimented with "sibling" parts for the Edge, but have not seen anyone try it yet. -
Welcome Welcome to the community, congrats on your newest acquisition, both are lookers 4 sure! The Titanium package is ... packed Ceramic interior should look pretty good, don't know I have seen any red/ceramic combos yet. AWD/FWD?

Ask Torrie. -
mac has been able to gather a lot of data on how the Edge behaves & responds thanks to all the miles he puts on and willingness to experiment ... to an extent. Still won't tune LOL.

Welcome & congrats on finding such a low mileage unit! First Ford, or ...?

HVAC System Question - Vents Stuck ?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to ash042679's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Does your OBD tool scan the MSCAN bus? All of them scan the HSCAN bus AFAIK. The climate control is on the MSCAN bus from what I remember. -
x2! Glad to see the catchcan installed, especially on the 2.0. Prev gen 2.0, should also, but probably too late now LOL.

HVAC System Question - Vents Stuck ?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to ash042679's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
First, check for codes, as outlined in the attached document. That may provide direction. Pinpoint Test J is I believe what you will be working with. Also verify that the coolant, with engine off & "cold", is at the COLD FULL mark or slightly above. Verify the A/C refrigerant pressures also, the system may be low or have a leak. All kinds of weird behavior can happen when either of these two items are in question. 2008 Edge HVAC Module — Dual Automatic Temperature Control _DATC_ — Diagnostic Methods.pdf -

No commonly noted issues that would explain that. Possibly wiring/fuseboxes affected by heavy rain or high pressure carwash? Check PCM for codes tho doubtful it set any. Also make sure fuses & relays are snug in the underhood fusebox as well as the passenger compartment fuse panel.

Routine maintenance *cough hack wheeze* will keep that water pump going. 105K is NOT the only interval Ford specifies for the first coolant change.

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Why not? So we can use our head to focus on other things. -
Does it have the 3.5 or the 2.0Ecoboost engine? I hold nothing against the 2.0, but the 3.5 is a proven performer, requires pretty much routine maintenance to run well & for long. What is the warranty situation on this Edge? You can get extended protection direct from Ford, if that is what you prefer.
