  1. You CAN build it up using parts, for example, from http://www.supersixmotorsports.com. They even have an Ecoboost based twin turbo setup, dunno if it will fit in the Edge though, MIGHT fit the 3.7 in the Sport. Packaging is tight in the Edge. After the engine, you will have to consider the transmission. The 6F50 has ... limitations. The 6F55 is better for the performance range you are looking for. So you will need to source an adapter at the very least, which is not that difficult to custom make. May also need to modify the subframe. Again, not that big of a deal. Not sure what is happening with this particular project, but one gentleman in Germany was working on sourcing a carbon fiber driveshaft for his SHO after the OEM driveshaft got twisted up at high tripledigit speeds. So that's another thing. Then there's the RDU. All in All, I would say you might consider an optional path of adapting the SHO 3.5 TT Ecoboost powertrain to the Edge. May have to make some structural modifications up front and shorten the driveshaft, etc. A built block from Livernois would go a long way to high power & reliable power. They are working on an upgrade to the 6F55, so you can talk to them about it. HTH.
  2. from what i gather some locksmiths will "clone" the first key, rather than adding the second key as a separate/standalone key. something to be aware of. also the pats system has a max of 8 entries IIRC, hope you don't run up against that as an issue.
  3. Depends on what you are comparing it to, it can definitely take SOME effort. Used to be common for cars to have over-assist until about 20 yrs or so ago. There might be speed-variable assist also, but IDK for sure. They do that to add "sportiness" to the feel and also add safety to high speed maneuvers.
  4. Has the transmission fluid ever been changed on your Edge? That is a vital service, and considering the (relatively) low mileage on your Edge, should really be changed under the Special Operating Conditions schedule. Even under Normal Operating Conditions, the Ford stated schedule is way overly optimistic, unless you drive 99% highway (maybe). That's where I would start. What about spark plugs, coils and PCV valve? Many transmission issues actually are due to misfires or a poorly running engine and a dirty MAF sensor/throttle body. Once the engine maintenance is brought up to date (much cheaper to start there), then we can start attacking possible trans issues. Since the "putter" is around the area of torque converter lockup, that could be an issue. Or it could be a bad wheel bearing, though usually there is noticeable drag/noise accompanying it. Speaking of which, check the brakes as well. The rears are especially prone to sticking if not lubricated regularly.
  5. Does the Note 4 charge at a good rate with the combo of a non Samsung charger and non Samsung cable? I assume you have already tried charging in the Edge with the OEM Samsung cable? Is the Sync version uptodate? What is the production date of your Edge? Early in the 2016MY or ...?
  6. You may want to consider doing it on-vehicle, as you have to be very careful not to break the glass. Anyway, here is the official procedure 2007 Edge Spoiler R&R.pdf
  7. What pads do you have on there now, Mirage? They should be ok to transfer to the new rotors, assuming they have been worn in evenly and are defect-free. Just would need to re-bed them to the new rotors for best braking.
  8. Scorpion Verde. Not a bad price at all! Good find, omar!.
  9. Sounds like time to find another dealer to work with.
  10. You are right, they are doing everything possible. Hope the new transmission does get put in place, the parts swapping is getting a bit ridiculous ...
  11. Well done, Chevy dealership! Best of luck to your mom with the 2014.
  12. Is that possible to use this stand-alone or are there any other required mods? I'm guessing it's a combination of both - addt'l mods aren't required but would give additional performance gains. Correct Also, my Edge (2017 Sport) is a lease. I'm concerned that the dealer may discover that I tuned it and fine me/void the warranty, etc. Any concerns in that department? Not really. Unless you get silly with the Edge and cause some damage to the powertrain etc. Drive sensibly. Finally, skimming through the owner's manual (thank you for the link), I noticed "*This product is not legal for sale or use in California on pollution controlled motor vehicles". I live in California but I'm not sure if the Edge Sort is considered a "pollution controlled vehicle". Any idea? Yes, any motor vehicle (and probably commercial as well) is a pollution-controlled vehicle (it has catalytic converters, for example). This is a disclaimer they HAVE to give to cover their bases. Edit: Continued reading manual. How damaging would it be to use the 93 Octane tune but only using 87 Octane fuel. Note - I would NEVER intentionally do this - just curious in case I'm a dumb ass and forget to use the proper fuel. Owners manual says it can damage/destroy the engine - is that generally the case or is that more "worst case" scenario? Absolutely no-go. MUST use 93 fuel with 93 tune. Can you get 93 in California? If not, get the tune for the most commonly available premium octane. 2nd Edit: Does anyone have experience on performance gains for the 3 different octane levels? ....
  13. They have oiled filters (just like K&N does) and dryflow filters (completely washable w soap & water or their cleaner). From my understanding the dryflow filters were developed by K&N to be sold by AEM, not sure if that is the case with aFe also.
  14. True, you just can't handle the risk of a rod thru the block. LOL.
  15. No one has added a vent tube on the Edge/MKX that I have seen posted. FWIW, these are the only PTU mod references I have seen ... http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/10914-ptu-leak-failures/page-12?do=findComment&comment=148260 http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/10914-ptu-leak-failures/page-13?do=findComment&comment=148567 a good photo of the vent from the_Natrix http://s159.photobucket.com/user/the_natrix/media/Ford%20Edge%20PTU/KICX5250_zps24f9b30f.jpg.html?sort=3&o=2
  16. Did they provide you a rental for the duration?
  17. You are SURE there is no overfilling, right? That will cause the fluid to foam and spew out the vent. The correct fill level for 2007 is about a 1/4 inch below the lowest point of the fill plug. I believe you remove the existing jiggle vent, and press fit the new vent fitting instead. This is the part number from the TSB and should fit your PTU AG1Z-7034-A http://www.revbase.com/BBBMOTOR/TSb/DownloadPdf?id=171259 This vent assembly is for 2013 MY on up, hence the new P/N DB5Z-7034-Chttps://www.fordpartsgiant.com/parts/ford-valve-asy-vent_db5z-7034-c.html DB5Z-7034-C Valve Assembly – Vent (Ti-VCT) DG1Z-7034-F Valve Assembly – Vent (GTDI)
  18. The parts diagrams show no drain plugs for any model PTU but the Sport's.
  19. Possibly a faulty display, and it is B226E, or a MODE BLEND DOOR MOTOR STALL error. Pinpoint test J.
  20. Best to leave the options alone, don't fine tune the tune. That's what you paid Torrie for. Once you have loaded the tune, it has flashed the PCM, so it will take a little bit for the PCM to relearn. After that, you can create some datalogs for Torrie to look at if you want. Torrie can check to see if there is room for improvement and/or address any specific issues you discover.
