  2. Any way to record the sound? I have never had any issues with the power windows except maybe the speed of operation, which Silicone spray greatly helped.
  3. Yeah definitely needed help there. Maybe compressed air would have been enough to clean it out, but I don't know for sure.
  4. Personally, I am much more fond of the electronic manuals Ford has online, so much easier to search. The paper manuals are also worth their weight in gold, when you are just reading through, with no particular objective in mind. Old school, LOL. http://www.fleet.ford.com/partsandservice/owner-manuals/
  5. Correct, good ole Battery Management System. Once you have fully charged the battery with a charger, leave the car untouched for at least 8 hrs after you shut it off. That's one way to DIY the re-learn. Or get the dealer to reset it.
  6. Welcome to the community, Mikula, and congrats! Please post pics of the Sport when you get a chance Maintenance is the first thing to put into these things, especially spark plugs and ALL fluids (trans, ptu, rdu, coolant, etc) to get a good baseline. Will be a little bit different from the foxbodies for sure, LOL. Naturally aspirated setups?
  7. Certainly looks like a flaw and not an intentional design? Possibly got damaged during assembly. Def bring it up with the dealer when you can, just so it is on record, even if no action needs to be taken at this time. Planning ahead.
  8. Good luck, let us know how it turns out! Yeah, heat & electronics generally don't mix. One of the myriad reasons server rooms can be freezing cold LOL.
  9. Easy enough to check/change air filter. Spark plugs should be fine, you have only 54K km on them (Motorcraft SP411 plugs?). The oil is fine even at those temps in summer. You can use the smell test on oil, when you compare fresh oil to the oil in your engine, you can tell when things are going downhill. This adds to the visual assessment of the oil. You had cleaned/checked the throttle body/sensor last year, right? there is also an acceleration control sensor behind the brake pedal. We can investigate this route if the air filter/MAF route does not help.
  10. Nah, not worth supercharging. The open deck design of the 3.5/3.7 V6 sees to that. You would have to first get a deck adapter built to fill in the gaps between the block and cylinder wall, then possibly upgrade the rotating assembly to handle the increased power longterm. http://www.supersixmotorsports.com/_pdf/cyclone-tech-v2.pdf This is a pic likely from Livernois buildup, but of an ecoboost, based on the same 3.5L naturally aspirated engine Even after you did that, you would need the 6F55 transmission really to put the power to the ground effectively, longterm.
  11. Let us know how it works out! BTW, as far as that cold side/hot side discussion is concerned, it is largely a theoretical issue, though correctly stated. In practice, it has not made a whit of difference. And LME IS an engineering firm, working very closely with Ford. 'nuf said.
  12. Or maybe it's a hidden hinge for a turret gun, LOL. Hope he does replace promptly.
  13. Texas heat will kill just about anything. Batteries, starters, paint, you name it. I think it should have still gotten up to 14+V during a drive, so very possibly an alternator issue as well Pick up a Solar BA7, you can test battery & alternator quickly & easily that way. EDIT: A basic primer on battery/alternator http://www.w8ji.com/battery_and_charging_system.htm Remember that the charging is adaptive on 2011+ MYs. So it will likely start out charging at 14.5V, then settle down to 13.8 or more as you keep driving.
  14. So ... the shifting is fine, but acceleration is slow? One of the common things to think of would be a clogged catalytic converter, as you have mentioned. But they rarely go bad on the Edge without throwing a code first. Possibly a clogged air filter/intake, or lost compression would be more likely. No roughness in the ride? Have you changed the spark plugs/coils/PCV valve? What motor oil are you using? I know we discussed it some time back, but I do not recall the specifics. Oil that is too heavy will also cause this type of issue. Try changing the MAF sensor, if cleaning it does not help. I had to change it on mine to get responsiveness back (not the same issue as yours tho), may help you.
  15. :cry:fish. Not sure whether it applies for chefd or not but :love_shower:
  16. They make a socket especially for oxygen sensors, maybe you can borrow that from your local auto parts store?
  17. Hope this helps in the meantime http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/14514-motor-swap-must-pull-motor-out-the-bottom/
  18. Wow, the moon is REALLY close. I hope it doesn't fall out of the sky someday. LOL.
  19. If they are Alcantara/microfiber/plastic material, then Try the Sonax product for Alcantara: http://www.amazon.com/Sonax-206141-Upholstery-Alcantara-Cleaner/dp/B00BBWJ16U/
  20. See, this is the thing. Let's make a differentiation between the naturally aspirated engines and the turbocharged engines on the Edge. They make look the same, but they certainly don't work the same. The Ecoboost engines, being turbocharged, high compression engines, work hard, create a lot of heat. So the more you can do to alleviate that heat, the more you are doing to prolong engine life. Now you can also bump up the power at the same time. So no extended life, but no degradation either. At least from the heat angle. Stock parts will still wear down faster from other factors, but won't poop on you, assuming maintenance is rigorous to account for the increased power factor. Heat has never been a problem. Unless you like your cabin being hit with 190F air, hardly an issue. 160F air is hot enough.
