  1. Unfortunate, but true. As noted earlier, they made the change, and many other changes in 2010 ... Does your Edge run better after the fuel pump change?
  2. If your Edge is AWD, you will want to make sure the PTU and RDU fluids are serviced. A few dealers in PA will service them, but generally it is Ford's poiicy to not service the PTU. If a service advisor pushes back, ask to talk to the trans tech directly. Usually they will do it then, because they understand what is needed to be done. Otherwise, line up a reputable trans service shop to do the work for you.
  3. All good data from enigma and chef above ^^^. When I hear "budget-conscious", that scares me LOL. I do spend more than I should on my Edge, but oh well. The more city driving you do, the harder it is on the powertrain. So do not be tempted to go by mileage alone for the servicing. I will say that oil changes are the most frequent servicing you will do, and for most intents and purposes, Motocraft Synblend 5W20 oil and Motorcraft FL500S filter is a fine combination. If you are a DIY'r, you can change oil & filter sometimes for under $20! You may need up to 6 quarts of oil. Mobil1 has the most rebates I have seen, so if you stock up, you can save some serious change. Take advantage of % off offers at stores like Advance Auto/Autozone etc. when items are NOT on sale. If you are current or ex military, there might be additional discounts as well. Walmart is usually a good option for items they stock, great pricing 24/7. Some items may be ship2home only tho. Ford offers a $40 (sometimes $30 w rebate) service that does oil change, tire rotation, etc. Pretty good deal! The intelligent oil life monitor seems to work in the 2012 & up MYs, so make sure it is set to 100% after every oil change for a fresh countdown. Plan to change oil and filter definitely soon after it reaches 10% oil life remaining or thereabouts.
  4. Should be date codes on the battery, including manufacturing date, and possibly install date. If not sure, take and post lots of pics. Also check batt terminals for corrosion/tightness.
  5. What is the maintenance history on the Edge. Electronic controls keep compensating as physical parts wear out, but eventually you do have to replace those parts.
  6. New battery time! Get a group 65 battery of the AGM variety. Will keep your Edge happy for years to come.
  7. PTU definitely needs checked, but when you have a CEL, you should pull codes first to see what the computer thinks might be wrong. Which is what you are doing, so please update when you have results. These cars are electronically heavy, so it definitely could have been "wet wiring" that just needed time to dry out. Just remember, this is akin to a flooded condition, however temporary, so hopefully water did not get into any of the internal wiring or fuse boxes. Might work fine now, but could experience random glitches further down the road.
  8. I am told that if you use the O/D on/off button a lot, that can cause the shifter to fail as well. Don't know if it is commonplace, but the starting point was a new shifter, about or less than a year old when it failed.
  9. Looks good in there, Cellbine i guess everyone's shopping for winter setups now, Doug. Maybe find some cheap OEM rims from other Ford model lines?
  10. X2 on PCM. You will have to replace or repair the PCM, replace all the coils. THEN you can attempt to start the Edge up again. Otherwise you will be stuck in a loop. You can send your PCM in for repair to https://circuitboardmedics.com/2007-2010-ford-edge-pcm-ecm-repair/ There is also a vendor on eBay who charges less for repair and seems to have great reviews. Call & talk to them first (same with CBM). http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Edge-ECU-ECM-PCM-Repair-Return-Ford-Edge-ECU-Repair-/322522155438/ OEM coils are preferred, and you can get them relatively cheap through this kit BA5Z-12259-A
  11. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Pirelli&tireModel=P+Zero&partnum=64ZR1P0XL&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes Pirelli p zero tires - tire rack.
  12. I Would upgrade to a group 65 agm battery, as it will survive repeated discharges. Also, a shift to park issue or a skipping cd player , or door ajar issue could easily drain the battery. Clean the terminals, make sure they are tight, and protect them with dielectric grease. Test the battery/alternator with a Solar BA7. If your drives are short/lowspeed, consider periodically putting the battery on a smart charger.
  13. Welcome and congrats on the new ride! Winter tires suitable for Nova Scotia picked out yet? Which engine, 2.0 Ecoboost or the 3.5L? Best of luck, post some pics of the Edge if you please!
  14. You should measure and see for yourself. Who knows, you may net a bargain! Taking a good look at pics side by side may help also.
  15. Do you know which coating specifically? I'm a bit out of touch with the newest products, 3 years was the last I heard for pro-applied coatings. Don't know if Feynlab's products have a better warranty.
  16. Maybe you could buy these and install? http://www.ebay.com/itm/F2GT-1A180-AB-TPMS-Sensor-FOR-2014-2016-Ford-Edge-F150-MUSTANG-315Mhz-/132087834032 I believe it will be a flashing light, no audible tone, for missing TPMS/faulty TPMS. Of course shipping to Canada is kinda extortionist. Shipping and handling Each additional item To Service Delivery* US $12.00 US $4.00 Canada USPS First Class Mail International / First Class Package International Service Estimated between Mon. Oct. 23 and Tue. Oct. 31 Seller ships within 3 days after receiving cleared payment - opens in a new window or tab.
  17. are you sure it is oem/Ford/Motorcraft? did you buy it off ebay, if so, do you have a link? There are suppliers with misleading names, their products are actually aftermarket.
  18. At worst, you can drive it there, take a rental back, and they comp you for the miles? IDK either ... I feel your pain, tho. Should have been a seamless transaction,
  19. Very unusual problem. I HAVE heard of the engine oil pressure switch not being installed properly, but not an internal engine issue with the 2.7L. But as you know, the Gen 2 has been plagued with seal & gasket issues (mostly body, a few engine/transmission related - oil pan, Torque Converter Housing, ...). An extended warranty (Ford Protect only, please) for the maximum duration available would be nice. But as A.O.E. said, might seriously consider a swap out.
  20. It really depends on how radical the departure is from the factory exhaust. Most people do not wander that far afield. Also there is a difference between "not needed" and "will benefit from". Just like you may "not need" a tune with downpipes, but "will benefit from" a tune.
  21. They will definitely push back on "misting"/"fogging". But they should fix in cases of condensation/water droplets.
