2013 Edge Sport capless gas replacement
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Benjamin2112's topic in Exterior & Body
The fact is dirt does collect at the fuel filler neck, at/behind the flap, that is where the concern is. And thats why FordTechMakuloco has a video on how to clean it. -
How is the temperature and humidity in your area? Either/both can affect brake noisiness, albeit cismetic in nature.

Post a copy of the warranty. Lets take a look at the fine print. The rep is often likely to not understand the vehicle. Plus if they paid to test the heads, they already shelled out mucho moolah. Whats a little more?

I only know for a FACT that Ford says not to. Blurb from the product page on Orange Use only when specified - Approved to Ford Specification WSS-M97B44-D. Use when Ford Specification WSS-M97B44-D is specified. - Do not mix different colors or types of coolant in your vehicle. Make sure the correct coolant is used. Mixing of engine coolants may harm your engine’s cooling system. The use of an improper coolant may harm engine and cooling system components and may void the warranty. - Do not use this product in systems originally equipped with the fluorescent green-colored Motorcraft® Premium Antifreeze/Coolant, approved to Ford Specification ESE-M97B44-A, or with the yellow-colored Motorcraft® Gold Antifreeze/Engine Coolant, approved to Ford Specification WSS-M97B51-A1, or with the dark green-colored Motorcraft® Specialty Green Engine Coolant, approved to Ford Specification WSS-M97B55-A.

Console lighting
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to TheFloppyWeasel's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Wild guess, but ... ambient lighting MAYBE? That was a troublesome area until they finally fixed it in software. -
Gold should be replaced with Green. Gold has been known to cause corrosion issues. Green is NOT compatible with Orange. You should not be using it in your Edge.

Navigation Upgrade
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to marksandbothe's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Forscan for Windows, with extended license is what you need to make mods. I believe the first 3 months is free for the extended license, but I could be wrong. Sign up on the Forscan forum to get the license. -

Welcome, pintokid, gorgeous ride! Certainly, the wife will appreciate the upgrade -
Welcome to the community, and congrats on your new ride, Rob! Which trim level do you have, Is this your first Ford? Do post pics when you get a chance

Hopefully just a bad cylinder head temperature sensor, and not an actual cooling system issue. Check coolant and engine oil level/condition carefully first. Then you will have to take off the upper AND lower intake manifolds to get to the sensor. Some people have had the wire to this sensor chewed through by pests also.

2013 Edge rear suspension creaking
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to brewman84's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Possibly need rear shocks. How many miles on your Edge? -
Do you have dual zone climate control? Do you have the Sony system installed or no? There are two types of calibration procedures you can perform to "reset" the module, depending on the configuration in your Edge. Hopefully the calibration will do the trick, at least for now. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/23097-2014-edge-limited-no-heat/

Did the shop check CCAs on the battery or just Voltage. Voltage is a false indicator. Unless there is a parasitic current draw and/or the alternator is not charging correctly, the battery likely needs replacing, especially if it is the one that came with the car. Replace with a Group 65 AGM type battery for best operating life. Allow the car to sit 8 hours+ undisturbed after you park it for the night so it can learn the characteristics of the new battery.

2013 Edge Sport capless gas replacement

The filler neck and the purge valve are the two most common issues I have seen on the 2011-14 MYs. -
Ford Edge "Dashboard Noise"?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Jennifer Lynn's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
yeah that cabin air filter is a PITA even on our 2010 Fusion. Gen 2's are not much different, macbwt has a video covering it -

I am told the OEM filter is reuseable after a wash Any number of aftermarket filters will work just fine. -

So that's what new mats look like. LOL! -

Multiple coats is great if you can afford it. Maintaining a regular touchless wash routine keeps it looking good. Anything that makes wheels easier to clean is a bonus. For me, the roof is the PITA, so making sure at least that section has multiple coats is warranted.

wind noise/air leaking around rear door windows
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to cottinr's topic in 2016 Edge & MKX
Horrible. Might be a Ford problem, or a dealer problem, either way you are left to deal with it. Hope they can figure out a way to fix it right this time. -
Looks like this coating here http://ceramicpro.com/hydrophobic-coating-ceramic-pro/
