EVAP purge valve, sits on the firewall, easy to replace. A particular issue since the 2011MY, but has started affecting 2007-10 as well.

HVAC Fan Temp Control Issue
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to tcbdrummer's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Have you checked a] coolant level, b] ac refrigerant level, c] cabin air filter, d] blower motor and e] the radiator fans? Does it cool better when moving vs idling? That would point to radiator fans, as both of them should be on and running when AC is being used. -
08 Edge clunks very loud going into reverse
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to stan1942's topic in 2008 Edge & MKX
If you have AWD, then yes the driveshaft/RDU can come into play for the clunk into reverse. Although you are more likely to need a new Transmission Range Sensor. I would check the resistance on the sensor connection to see if this might be the case. If it is, the work is almost the same as to replace a TSS/OSS sensor, so you can get the whole shebang done in one shot. Advisable to check the valve body and solenoid body assembly while you have them out as well. If it clunks going into other gears also, definitely check the trans mount/dogbone, visible underneath the vehicle from behind the front wheels. These mounts do tend to go south as the miles pile on. How to Check -
Assume it is the 3.5 engine, since it is cylinder 6 and Limited version. Might indeed be time to change out ALL plugs. Or a tankful of Techron Concentrate Plus might be all that is needed for now.

The product choices from Motorcraft are listed here: https://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubricants.com/main/category.asp?select=%5BTransaxle%20Fluid%5D Additive Friction Modifier SAE 75W-140 Synthetic Rear Axle Lubricant SAE 75W-85 Premium Synthetic Hypoid Gear Lubricant SAE 75W-90 Premium Synthetic Transaxle Lubricant SAE 75W-90 Synthetic Axle Lubricant SAE 80W-90 Premium Rear Axle Lubricant Looks like the 80W90 product is not full synthetic but the 75W90 is. Anyhoo, x2 on chefduane's comment. RP 75W90 will be a good step up, Redline and Amsoil would be the best non-custom products available. https://www.redlineoil.com/75w90-gl-5-gear-oil https://www.redlineoil.com/Content/files/tech/ShockProof%20Gear%20Oil%20Tech%20Info.pdf https://www.amsoil.com/AmsoilGarage/internal/vehiclelookuppage.aspx?url2=2016+FORD+EDGE+P

I would probably swap out the pads for EBC Yellowstuff, if available. z23 are good, but Yellowstuff is substantially better. Same as PTU except easier access to the fill plug. No drain plug yet on the RDU. Most do not take off the cover to drain. The "gasket" is RTV silicone.

That's the whole thing. There is no logging with the MyCal devices with LME. They know the parameters they are comfortable with for remote tunes, and will tell you once you send them the list of upgrades performed/being performed. If the upgrades fit their schema, they will send you an appropriate updated tune (via Email or their server). If it falls outside their schema, that's where onsite tuning comes in. There is no collection of enduser data (logs). They have access to many more parameters for tuning due to their close relationship with Ford, and thus can churn out tunes that stress the engine less for the same performance level. Longevity comes in tow with that.

Welcome! Sorry, dropping the fuel tank is needed to replace the fuel pump At least since 2010MY this has been the case. Is your Edge AWD or FWD? Different fuel pumps. http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/ford,2011,edge,3.5l+v6,1446671,fuel+&+air,fuel+pump+&+housing+assembly,10147 MOTORCRAFT PFS581 {#BT4Z9H307C} Sender Assembly AWD $143.79 MOTORCRAFT PFS1033 {#DT4Z9H307A} Sender Assembly FWD $151.79

Welcome and congrats! Let's see what issues you got

They will remote tune within certain parameters, they have tested a set of scenarios, and if your mods fall within those scenarios, remote tune! "Substantial" upgrades like bigger turbos and AM intercooler, they will definitely want to put the vehicle on the dyno.

Yes you most definitely are Welcome, and congrats!!!

08 FWD transmission issues after TSS/OSS replacement
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to camboking123's topic in 3.5L
Best of luck with the transmission, at least now you have a warranty to fall back on -
Mostly highway? 30K mile intervals for the PTU/60K for the RDU should be sufficient. Mixed or mostly city, cut that in half. Yes, drain & refill should be sufficient. Drain plug definitely makes it easier to do a complete service in one shot, but not necessary. Use the time to find a reputable shop (non-dealer) that can take the info on this forum and put the plug in for you. I get the nervousness. Having just gotten a new PTU, what to do, right? Keep on a strict fluid change regimen, and find a place to change out the RDU fluid as soon as possible so you can get on a proper schedule.
-
A leaking PTU used to be sufficient cause for replacement. Ford is moving towards fixing the internals now. Maybe that's why they wrote it up as they did. As to the case cracking, never heard of that in an impact-less situation.

Yes, it should work if you transfer over the wiring, and bypass the oil cooler. You can get the appropriate non-cooler adapter for your Edge if you so wish. Also confirm that there is only 1 VCT solenoid per bank, indicating it is a VCT and not a TiVCT engine. How many miles on the "new" engine? You might consider changing the plugs, PCV valve at a minimum while you have it on the floor/stand. With enough mileage, I would replace the water pump and possibly the timing components before installation.
