Can't figure out how to lock display
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to kevfra's topic in 2017-2018 Edge & MKX
wow that battery went quick. -
Welcome, jwpanda, congrats on the new ride, and best wishes for trouble-free ownership. Do recommend drivetrain fluid exchange as soon as possible, trans, ptu, rdu.

It is important that the catch can lines not freeze during winter, so you want them to stay relatively warm. Otherwise weird problems with idling and even oil smells can result.

Welcome, Lidoidol! -
Would also do the Transmission Range Sensor at the same time, to fix the clunk into reverse. If you can take apart the valve body for inspection so much the better. Be sure to know where every bolt goes because a couple of them are different sized than the others. Same with checkballs if you have the VB apart. Get the filter/gasket assembly for the Solenoid Body Assembly. It's like $11 so well worth it to keep those shift solenoids clean. SBA might need replacement if shifting does not clear up with TSS/OSS. And oh, make sure the trans is in Neutral and battery is disconnected before beginning work. You will be glad to avoid doing the work twice.

If it is certified, is it FORD certified, meaning CPO? Then this is the coverage you have https://www.ford.com/resources/ford/global/pdf/cpo/ford_program_brochure.pdf Seems lighting is not covered unless **Interior/Exterior Lighting. Coverage included only if Lighting Option is purchased. OTOH, having CPO status may get you access to purchase the best extended Ford Protect warranty. Call up lombardfordwarrantys.com and talk with them about your options.

Interactive lines on backup camera
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to toast1850's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Yes they do but ONLY ONLY ONLY with true Ford cameras, not the myriad of products running around claiming to be Ford/OEM cameras. -
Welcome! The 2 most common culprits for rattles from the engine are a] a non-Motorcraft oil filter, and b] timing system, specifically stretched/loose timing chain(s) Normally the filter rattle goes away after startup, but the timing system rattle can persist. First, try using the Motorcraft FL400S filter and see if that makes a difference. If it does not, checking with a mechanic's stethescope in the front cover/timing cover area will be worth it. If the rattle is confirmed as coming from there, a big job (can be DIY) likely lies ahead: timing chains, phasers, tensioners, VCT solenoids and water pump. So, start with a new oil filter and go from there. Make sure the oil level is also at the top of the hashmarks on the dipstick, and that the oil is clean (not muddy or dirty).

This is exactly the kind of misleading information that will get you banished to the truant's corner ... LOL!

The way you drive, you need a dual intercooler setup. LOL.

Replaced tss oss and made things worse
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to turnofftheradio's topic in Transaxle (FWD)
Well, still a darned fine time for someone whose livelihood is not being a trans tech! I mean, if you look at the same part type day in day out, you don't have to think as much, your actions are defined and repetitive, you save a lot of time. Glad you got out early before physical debility set in. Mechanics that I have had the pleasure of working with did not (they enjoyed the work too much), and paid the price -

2 hrs is a pretty nice turnaround for the VB/Zip kit! Have you checked the TRS resistance values yet? -
if it does turn out to be the PCM, i recommend getting it fixed by circuitboardmedics.com , a very reputable shop.
-
Well done! A hearty cheer for pursuing to a successful conclusion

Sadly, I think so. You can test the PCM coil drivers, see if beyond specifications. That is the best/easiest way to tell. Sometimes it is a fuel injector at fault, but save that thought for another day. 2007 Edge Integrated Ignition Coil On Plug Coil A Through J Failure.pdf
