how does the fluid look. if it is still murky/thick, then the cleaning process probably needs a few more rounds of drain/fill. as far as the vent cap you could likely pop it off with a screwdriver, but i am not sure if it would go back on.

Since you just got the vehicle, change BOTH PTU and RDU fluids. If dealer won't do it, find a good trans shop to work with. No drain plugs, but a shop can easily use the fill plugs instead. in the case of the RDU, if they wanted, they can actually remove the cover, clean out the RDU completely, seal it back up and refill. Replace all other fluids as well. A known good starting point is essential for longevity. Coolant, brake, power steering (if not electric), transmission fluid, etc. If you are not a DIY'r, assess the need for extended warranty, buy a Ford Protect one, I like the Premiumcare, it has been invaluable on my 07, and will be with all the electronics on your 2013.

The fuel pump occasionally gives out on prev gen 2.0s, so have them check the FPDM and the FPCM while the Edge is in the shop. Pulling codes is always the first step tho with modern vehicles. codes are not a be all end all diagnostic, but will help narrow down possibilities. Could just be bad gas as well. Even the best stations are susceptible. Could try running a bottle of HEET through there. (not isoHEET, HEET)

The best protection would likely be some kind of ClearBra type film application. Mudflaps would help keep stuff off the sides of your vehicle, OEM may not be the best, I think Husky products are used by a lot of people instead. AVS bug shield for the hood is another reliable product, once you get the right bolts for it LOL.

Rear brakes won't retract after brake job

The rears are the screwin type, right? Might need to doublecheck they are seated properly, as omar said. -
Welcome to the community, Ron, congrats on the new ride! Do post pics! :camera:

no wonder it's showing low stock around the country for the rest of us LOL. -
Was a thread on this not long back, and the consensus was it would not fit/sit right.

I think your post will resonate with MANY people. It did with me anyway LOL. I did not like the publicity photos of the ST, it does look much better in person, including the paint scheme. TBH, the only reason not to keep the 2.0 FWD is the lack of tuning options. I know a tuner who could do it, but he is very short on time That would be one reason to go the 3.5 or the 2.7 route in the current gen lineup. Tuning will take care of those moments of hesitation that we so dread! AWD is nice to have for sure but the PTU/RDU do need regular servicing unlike what Ford proposes as "lifetime". The power in the 3.5 has a different hp/tq curve, and it does not have the tq off the line that the EBs do, but is it stouter in the long run? I believe so. If you haul cargo or tow quite a bit, the 3.5 is the best way to go, followed by the 2.7. As far as money issues, buying vehicles coming offlease is probably the best investment. You don't take the hit up front, there is usually a bit of factory warranty remaining (meaning you can get extended warranty a bit cheaper), and not so many miles as to wonder what you have gotten yourself into.

I think you mean you had the GOLD coolant prior, enigma. That is recommended to be updated with GREEN to thwart the corrosion issues.

Is the liftgate opening height adjustable on a 2011 Limited
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to topdri68's topic in Exterior & Body
You would need new struts to go with, the oem sized struts for 2011 would not extend that far. plus there might be clearance issues between the roof and the edge of the liftgate (there is a weatherstrip there). These designs are kinda fixed in place. might be better to have swing door like they have on some Chevy SUVs or on vans. IDK ... -
correct, host them on a site like imgur. that's where we have moved to instead of photof-it. working out well (so far).

IDK if there is height adjustability BEYOND preset height. Loweing yes, raising probably not. This feature did not show up till 2015 in the Edge. -
New Edge Owner . . . Thanks for the Approval

Welcome and congrats! -
The 2.0 water pump is external. Engine damage would be due to turbo failure most likely, but no noticeable trends.

LOL

Yes, they can, as long as they are using the newer digital testers (IME they are). If you can spring for a group 65 AGM-type battery, please do so!
