Does the engine shut off automatically after 45 minutes of idling in the absence of other events? I did not see any mention of that in a load shed strategy. Maybe things have changed with the Gen 2?
-
Does it have stop-start pushbutton setup? could be a fault with that.

Def have seen instructions on replacing the emblem ... If you are ok with using a steering wheel cover, that would be quick & simple fix for the delamination? And, congrats on your new ride!

The Active Grille Shutters are meant to speed up engine warmup, and then reduce drag, hence improving fuel economy. Taken from a 2014 FSM Active Grille Shutter System The active grille shutter system (when equipped) is comprised of the grille shutter assembly and the grille shutter actuator. The active grille shutter system is primarily used to maximize fuel economy by reducing aerodynamic drag on the vehicle. In addition, the system is used to control coolant temperature, HVAC system performance and exhaust emissions depending on the vehicle speed. The system is also used to shorten engine warm-up time, increasing engine efficiency and providing heat to the vehicle occupants in a timely manner. PCM inputs/outputs used for controlling the active grille shutter system are the: Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor A/C pressure transducer Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) sensor ABS module, messages sent over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) Engine cooling fan motor Engine oil temperature Grille Shutters The grille shutters are several "slats" or "blinds" connected to one another by a linkage system. One of the individual grille shutters is fixed to the grille shutter actuator. When the grille shutter actuator moves, it moves the attached shutter which causes the other linked shutters to move. The individual grille shutters are not available for service separately, they are serviced with the grille shutter assembly. Grille Shutter Actuator The grille shutter actuator is a smart motor which receives position requests from the PCM via a Local Interconnect Network (LIN). One of the grille shutter blinds connects to the grille shutter actuator using a retainer. The grille shutter actuator can be serviced individually or as an entire assembly, which includes the grille shutters, grille shutter actuator, retainer and grille shutter housing. The grille shutter actuator positions the grille shutters based on commands received from the PCM. The full range of movement of the grille shutter actuator is a total of 90 degrees from fully closed to fully open. The actuator moves the grille shutters to 1 of 16 positions (approximately 6 degrees between positions) when requested by the PCM.

MKX? The MKX is not involved, the MKZ is.

Anyway to alter remote start temp settings?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to sgkukov's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Haven't seen that question pop up or answered. But just know that the initial few minutes after startup, the auto setting may not "work right" because the ambient temp sensor has to catch up to actual temps vs last known temps at shutdown. -
Climate Fan repeatedly turns all the way up!
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to ab50228's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
You can also try recalibrating the system, it may solve the issue. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/23097-2014-edge-limited-no-heat/ -
Good find, enigma. Looks like they don't want to turn rotors after all. LOL.

Usually MC plugs are very reliable. Though I remember the fiasco with the SP528 plugs for the 3.5EB. An upgrade to the SP534 took care of THAT problem. If your drives are primarily highway, you can definitely eke out the 100,000 miles that Ford says you can. Most tho are done by 60K or so. The loss of power is gradual over that time, you get used to it. Then you put new plugs in, and WooHoo! Tuned Ecoboosts are a different story. There you are definitely looking at replacing plugs annually/every 12-15K miles. The price for power But with a Ford 4 banger, at least all the plugs are up front. Even on the 6's, it is not bad at all, very similar to their naturally aspirated siblings.

What email addy did you send your requests to? I confirmed with him that torrie@unleashedtuning.com is the correct contact. If you PM me your addy, I will ask him to look out for your communications.

Interesting. Thank you for the update

Welcome to the community, vader06, and good luck in your quest!

I think so, it would be a logical choice. BOTH sensors, not one or the other. Verify the solenoid body assembly is working correctly (resistances within range), change the filter on it while it's out. Also, if you want, verify resistances on the trans range sensor per TSB 10-21-02. Likely will cover all the angles. Checking the valve body is a bit more involved and may be an additional cost.

Rear liftgate replacement on 2007 Edge SEL
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to skiefer's topic in Exterior & Body
Can't answer that question, but per dealer online sites, the 2007-8 liftgates were the same part number, and the 2009-14 (YUP) are the same part number. So 2008 should work fine. Don't know why 2009 would not work, but 2008 seems a sure bet. -
Sincere condolences, man.

Have you pulled codes from the PCM, that is the first place to start as most codes do not throw warning lights. How does the trans fluid look? Color, condition, level being the 3 things to check. Have the plugs and pcv valve been changed? TB and MAF sensor cleaned? Being a 1st Gen and at that mileage, the sensors are strongly suspect, but we should run through the checklist first anyway. Sometimes engine problems manifest as transmission problems. incorrect data from engine sensors leads to incorrect commands to the transmission control module. Recommend getting OEM (Ford/Motorcraft sensors) if you proceed with the work. Aftermarket brands are not much cheaper anyway. There is a video on macbwt's channel that shows you how to replace the sensors:

Can you feel the Testarossa-sterone? LOL. When the Gen 2 Sport was announced, that was the first time I felt Ford took the "Sport" moniker seriously. It has take time to explore the limits though, and still very few people are actually pushing the boundaries. Same thing with the 3.5EB in transverse configuration. Took time to figure out the programming, then time to make and fit custom parts. All very very packed in there.
-
Not easy to get to. You will have to take out the battery first.
-
Nice lookin mods! How much of a shot are you running? Do you use it all the time, or only at the track, or ...
-
Well, that is a quick n easy fix, compared to other solutions.

MC, KYB or Moog Strut Mounts?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Robw13's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
KYB QuickStruts are available for 2011-14, not yet for 2007-10. So pick Motorcraft for best overall ride, KYB for sporty ride, but keep the mounts Motorcraft. -
The leak is from the front cover where you access the valve body/TSS OSS etc? I do believe the gasket is replaceable so that is where I would start first. Products like Lucas Conditioner are bandaids once a problem already exists. Basically buying time so you can budget in the replacement. A trustworthy shop dealer or independent is the important thing given that price is the same. Ford remanned transmissions have an excellent warranty, Jasper's may as well.
