I think someone asked this before but someone stated that the wiring isn't available to do this without splicing some wires....I'm not completely sure so good luck with it

I'm about to use plastidip on my grille. I just did my wheels with it last week and it was soooo easy. Hope the grille is the same way. good luck with yours

yeah I mean even purchasing it somewhere else online and shipping to montreal would still probably be cheaper than that...
-
I would also check other places around before spending that much on such a cheap product....
-
wow that's outrageous...yeah they had the can to dip things and then the spray can was right next to it.....I bought 4 cans and ended up only using 2 so far for all 4 wheels so you will probably be good with just 2 cans, depending on how many coats you apply. I applied 3-4 on each wheel and they haven't chipped yet after a couple days of crappy roads and even dirt roads. Good luck! keep us posted
-
Do you have lowe's or home depot up there?? If you've never heard of them, they're large hardware stores. Small hardware stores may have it also....I would just look at places like that...pretty cheap stuff. About $5-7 per can

Honestly the only help taking the wheels off did was not worrying about covering the rotors or anything. I sprayed the wheels sitting up, like they are on the car b/c otherwise the plasti-dip would start to run. It was also easier to see all the spots in the light with it facing horizontally. It should look great no matter what...plasti-dip is pretty forgiving in that you can easily fix your mistakes and it dries looking a lot better than when it is first sprayed. good luck! Hope to do my grille soon and will post about that as well

Thanks guys! Yeah it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I have driven it only for two days now but it has withstood rocks, rain, dirt roads, etc. and no problems yet! I'm still debating whether to make them glossy but I'll pry add another coat before winter....probably when I decide to do the grille as well. But for now, I'm content

So I did it. Got all 4 wheels off the edge today and plasti-dipped them. I did 4 coats on each one just to start for now and I add more or touch it up once I drive it more. Still debating whether to get the glossifier or not...but will probably do the grille and fog light bezels soon. Pretty easy process even for someone who has no experience doing this stuff, maybe just practice on a box or piece of wood before hand. Turned out good in my mind and I'm happy how it came out.

I agree with both you and KingMike....a lot of ppl would love the option to change the colors and I think it should be an option lets say if you buy the limited, sport models or the appearance package. Chase would not make money with the logo so who cares, chevy definitely could since I see a lot of ppl change it to black, and apple could make a hell of a lot of money personalizing the colors of laptops! everyone does it anyways but would love the ease and security of having the actual maker do it for them. I agree it would be annoying to do for a lot of orders but would be profitable if they limit it to certain options on cars, computers, etc.

Yeah I got black on black (2 tone) for my overlay and the hardest part was getting it just right...but I agree that blue on red would look weird. Just like the blue on my black, looks weird just like it does with your clothes! haha but glad it worked out for you as it did for me as well

Good looking emblems! I'm sure you can agree with me when saying that the installation is quick and easy, a great solution to wanting personalized emblems. Also, great choice on getting new ones after the carbon fiber ones. Didn't look too bad on paper but would have been a different story on the car. Looks great!

I know this is an old post and many have posted already (too many to read) but I wanted to post a recent conversation with Crutchfield. Like another member, they recommended the Polk Audio db840 and a Kicker amp. The sub seems like it will improve from the factory but many people have said you don't need the new amp...the specs make it seem like the sub doesn't use that much power so is it necessary in this case? The info given on the sub is this: power range: 50-180 watts RMS peak power handling: 360 watts They recommend this amp: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_2061DX2501/Kicker-11DX250-1.html Which doesn't seem bad to me in my mind, and I would probably just put it under the back seat but I don't want to do it unless actually necessary....Will probably hold off on this until spring so I can get more information and look at more products but let me know what you guys think. Thanks

Anyone know the dimensions or any source of more info on the factory subwoofer? Would help in trying to replace it, thanks

I meant the wrench gun thing....whatever its called haha that makes it easier to take them off then just a normal wrench. Sorry not good with names of tools or anything like that

Mostly city or highway? And I would suggest tracking your gas usage on a site like Fuelly, my edge says I get 20.1 mpg while Fuelly says I get 19.0 mpg....Ford has even told me that my computer is off and its not uncommon and I have heard of it being the other way too where ppl get more than their computer says. Try it out. If you drive mostly city then your mpg will suck, sorry. If not, try to drive more carefully

I have an '08 with 52k miles on it (mostly highway in Cleveland and shitty roads) and the only thing that was chipping was the blue oval on the emblem. Just covered them with all black overlays though so now its no longer a problem for me

Okay so I got the comfort spray grip that "buyout" suggested and it was $2 and change from Lowe's which should easily be worth it in the end! I'm prepared to plasti-dip the wheels on friday, my dad's company has the tool available to take the wheels off so I'll be doing that just so I don't have to be cautious of the brakes....Will post how it goes with pictures on friday afternoon I hope.
