Unknown Dashboard Light Warning
wannabang replied to baespey's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
How about I tell you that, for me, that light comes on whenever I turn off the traction control, but turns off when the car is turned off since the car always starts with traction control on. If you're truly slilding, the car will beep quite loudly (it's annoying when you're purposely doing it lol). If you didn't bump the button, then I'd imagine something is wrong with your traction control system. Honestly, I don't think it's anything to worry about. I drive without traction control outside of snowy conditions a lot of the time. -
If the AWD also fails, I'm totally down for the RWD model. Wooh! Can we get a photoshop of the gt500 hood on an Edge, with the vents and badges on the fender? Maybe even a Mustang/Taurus style grille on the 2015. Why don't they just let the forum design it? *edit: I also think it's time for a digital speedometer, as the civic has it, but located in the middle of the tach that should be more centered in the cluster. So the tach would still have a gauge, but not a needle. It could show rpms with a digitial loading bar-esque thing. The message screen can be larger and handle all the error icons and whatnot. No?

I hardly ever use my mirrors when changing lanes... I constantly check them when driving in the same lane that I have a pretty good idea of where the cars are around me, and for entering/exiting the freeway, I just look over my shoulder. Just a little change in driving habits can fix your problem pretty cheaply. I'm not aware of any law, but USDOT has so many regulations.. lol They have little attachable mirrors to cover your blindspot, or replacement mirrors with an angled mirror built in to cover it.

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
wannabang replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I put some glossifier PD on today to prep it for the winter slush and salt, butttttt I didn't take the tape off when it was still wet so the lines are REAL ugly. Probably will redo it. On the plus side, I've found I like the color the glossifier gives me when I put it over my blue. ...got me thinking about doing the whole car. -
Cellbine, that's a fantastic idea with the phone. How's it held up with all you sliding it in and out of pockets and whatnot?

2012 Edge SE - Stock Head Unit Replacement
wannabang replied to DamianD.Arnold's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
...I'm a college student. I'll have it til it dies, besides, it's paid off and it's more fun for trips. -
Decided to do only one side of the car with PD. Partly because I parked too close to the wall to get to the other side, but also to see if the PD would actually do anything for the winter.

Whaddup?! Welcome and congrats! Sounds like you're off to a blazing start. Keep it up. Looks like you've got tint on the fronts, too. Sounds like HIDs are a good next step.

About to install HIDS into my girlfriends 2007 MKX - DIY?
wannabang replied to Andrew Abalos's topic in 2007 Edge & MKX
Didn't do it on an MKX, but I can't imagine it to be too hard, but that guide in the link looks like it's got a lot more steps. Mine was wire from battery to ballast to headlight and just a direct swap of the bulbs.. Took all of thirty minutes. Try it! If ya get stuck, then assess. -

wannabang replied to kc300c's topic in Classifieds
I didn't think the lights on the '07 vs. '08 were any different... I'm so anxious for the 1st gen tail lights, and then I'll have an excuse to get the headlights done by D51.- 11 replies

Tomorrow morning, I'm doing a bra and a foot up on each side of the Edge to protect from salt/slush/rocks for the winter. It's 40 degrees outside, so I'll post on how it looks when it's done. Maybe even some pictures. Washed it well yesterday, but we'll see how the dip goes on.

My black plastic molding around the bottom of the car seems a little discolored in some spots, like almost white. I was thinking this was a result of some wax that may have ended up on it. Anyone know if anything can be done to turn it black again?

I've lived in Ohio my whole life, and winter has always been a time of preparation. You gotta prepare yourself to go outside, decorate for the holidays, and cleans the house for family (or travel to family). Since the snow came this week, I was wondering how you all prepare for winter, since were' obviously diving into it already. What are your first steps? Usually it's Christmas decorations and cleaning the house, getting the shovels and sleds down from the attic, and getting a picture with Santa (it's Mom's favorite part). This year, I was thinking I'd prepare my Edge a little more than just washing the salt off occasionally as I did last winter. I was thinking I'd apply PD Glossifier to my front end, lower part of the doors, and the underside of the rear end. I don't expect this to prevent snow, but let the salt wash off easier and not have any paint damage if I don't wash it off until the end of winter, so I can use Dr. Colorship in the spring.

2015 Ford Edge Concept Introduced
wannabang replied to robertlane's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
Seems like I'm in agreement with most. The rearend looks kinda like they did try, and just took concept cues from other CUVs. The frontend really does remind me of a Kia or Hyundai. Literally was the first thing I thought of. I bought my edge for a classier look, and am kind of disappointed they'd rather make it sportier. The interior looks fantastic, although if I could change anything, it'd be the digital speedometer. My mom's RDX has similar gauges, and for some reason, when it's digital, I feel like there should not be a gauge there with numbers 0-160, just the number of the speed I'm going. Looks a lot cleaner. On the plus side, the tail lights and head lights look sick, but it'd be sweet if they took the redesign concept from the Fusion (Grille, Front End, window line, stance, how much plastic should be between the metal and the ground, and not the Taurus and current Edge.. -
