  1. Good to know. I'd assumed that was the case to stop the vicious road noise in my SEL. Except I won't be using Dynamat...
  2. Possibly tomorrow. Got lots of homework to do, today. LOL I'm in love with the system.
  3. I have 35w 5000k HID headlights with stock fogs. That stock color I believe is 4300k, but someone correct me if I'm wrong. Also stock highbeams. Pure white. I'm on a hill, the light is hitting a level street, which is why the light is so intense. Also, it's befre I aimed them properly.
  4. Got it all done today, and it works great! I'm extremely happy with it. Total cost: $501. Guy at the local small business I took it to said he'd knock $70 off a $120 bypass they sold in exchange for mine. Theirs didn't require an extra key, so now I have a spare key, and access to remotely unlock my doors. Took them 7 hours. Definitely will prove to be worth it after the snow we just got and the ten minute walk I have to my car on campus. Thanks, Offey's. I can put a video up if there's enough care for one.
  5. I don't have the power liftgate, unfortunately. I want the auto-window thing more, anyway. Update: Guy assumed it was JUST a remote start, quoted me $300 for the alarm, too. New place quoted ~$200 for both. Getting that done tomorrow morning. Key ran $120 from the dealer. New final cost: ~$520. Damn the guy before me for not leaving his spare key when I bought the car and me not bargaining for it when I bought it. LOL
  6. Standby for what's to come at the end of the day. :hyper: :xlbirthday:
  7. I believe my interface has a screen that allows me to select individual songs off the disc, rather than skipping. If that's the case with whatever model you pick, just set it so that the first x # of songs are for a particular artist. I prefer Pioneers, but Alpine or JVC would be my second pick.
  8. I park beneath trees at work and I noticed the other day that I have sap on my windshield and right in front of the moonroof. Adv. Auto Parts's guy told me to use a razor blade on the windshield with some warm water. It seemed to work when he tried it. Any suggestions for the paint? Goo gone?
  9. Really cool! Any chance the surrounding (new) LEDs can be converted into the turn indicator and the driving lights and leaving the taillight to be only the brake light? One of my peeves is cars with red taillights that use the red brake light as the turn signal, too. Unfortunately, bought a car like that LOL
  10. You can check my build log. I have 35W 5000k HIDs. They're plenty brighter and a lot whiter than the stock halogens. No problems other than the jagged beam pattern caused by the reflectors. Not really a big deal when you're driving, but it is ugly when you park up against a side of a building.
  11. Same with mine. I just assumed it was the battery as well. Thanks for saving me the hassle. I'm not too concerned, though, since I'll have a viper system in it on Thursday. Hope you figure it out!

I definitely see the white in the ~4300k, but hardly, if any blue in the 5000k. The 5000k seems like a crisper/brighter white to me. http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view;_ylt=A0PDoTCXWfhQOzMAqEuJzbkF;_ylu=X3oDMTBlMTQ4cGxyBHNlYwNzcgRzbGsDaW1n?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3Fp%3Dhid%2B4300k%2Bcolor%26fr%3Dchr-greentree_ff%26fr2%3Dpiv-web%26tab%3Dorganic%26ri%3D46&w=275&h=693&imgurl=maxx.wolltech.com%2FMXRZ_HID_COLOR_INDEX.jpg&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fz6-forum.com%2Fforum%2Ffz6-general-discussion%2F24023-if-i-bought-some-hids-would-you-want-some.html&size=67.1+KB&name=reccomend+anywhere+from+%3Cb%3E4300k+%3C%2Fb%3Eto+6000k+here+is+a+chart&p=hid+4300k+color&oid=ce12e5ddea1cf0812df9ab060d294d9e&fr2=piv-web&fr=chr-greentree_ff&tt=reccomend%2Banywhere%2Bfrom%2B%253Cb%253E4300k%2B%253C%252Fb%253Eto%2B6000k%2Bhere%2Bis%2Ba%2Bchart&b=31&ni=96&no=46&ts=&tab=organic&sigr=13au71rk4&sigb=13gbsmo56&sigi=11ashcs2b&.crumb=eArK92vfEX7 Don't be offended by the picture captions there^^ I only posted it to capture what I felt was a decent color comparison. I think the 5000k is definitely the way to go, but either way, you'll be happy. Hope it all works out!
  13. If you want just white, my 35w 5000k only have a hint of blue when they flick on, but after it's pure and bright white. For me, there's no need for the 55w pair. The 4300Ks will still seem relatively yellow, I think.
  14. Looking back, I can tell now. LOL It's hard to see in that first pic. What's your front tinted at? I've been considering it. Any issues? edit: That blacked out chrome on the back looks fantastic!
  15. Definitely looks meaner. I love how the front and door-side chrome pieces turned out. Not such a huge fan on the wheels for such a classy car, turned out nice. I'd agree with c_bova, though. If you're gonna keep some chrome in the lights, bring back the nice chrome in those wheels! Nahh, I've thought I've tinting my tails and decided against it. The covers get too black and I don't trust myself with paint. Side thought: We should get a little brow done on our cars. The tint job looks incomplete without it. I used to think they looked tacky, but if it's not too big... Just a thought.
  16. If you're on a tight budget, the 17s. After all, it is just winter, when I'm more concerned about controlling my vehicle and less about how nice other's wheels are. On the other side, it is just $60 more to get the bigger ones. I've definitely found the 17s to look just a tad bit too small for our cars, and even the 18s are small, but I have them. That's my thoughts without being able to see them on the "Build Your Own" feature on Ford's site.
  17. This is EPIC. I would love to attempt this. Maybe I'm just proposing a cheap suggestion, but this would make a great write-up. It'd be a fun summer project for me to dive into, but something that might be a bit too much fun for me to buy completed. I might just copy that blue and white combo. It looks real nice.
  18. Check out Cellbine's link to White's fb page. I found it a very easy way to get through to him.
  19. I've had the car for about 5000 miles, second owner. It's been sideswiped, but other than going in for alignment, dent repair, and painting after the wreck, the carfax revealed nothing. At 74k, I've seen TMPS light come on and off as it wishes. Not a huge deal to me. I upgraded the battery shortly after I got it when I put in the sub stage.
  20. I've wondered a few times why the new body style hasn't been incorporated into it. I'm down... for voting. My computer creativity is null.
  21. I ended up going with the universal $18 one from sonic, but he said they always flash their modules with vehicle-specific codes and match it to the model of remote start. Hopefully that will clear up the key issue.
  22. It's in my sig, but I love the thing and get compliments on it whenever people get in the car. I purchased a separate part to allow it to work with the steering wheel controls. No biggie for me, although, I need to break in and find why that part only sometimes works. LOL
