I don't let those shops touch any of audio equipment. The couple times I have been in there, or have friends go in, the gain on my amp always gets maxed, although I haven't been charged yet. LOL Speaker wire to your speakers can be run down under the door, up the trim piece next to the door, and through the rubber grommet the holds all the wires that go to the door. You should be able to peel it back or loop a hanger and push it through. Then run it to your speaker.

Need product Recommendations!
wannabang replied to Filtercharged07's topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
I just went to my local Advanced Auto Parts. The guys in there are extremely friendly and helpful, so for any minor things I want to do for my car, I head there. Sometimes it's fun to bounce ideas off of them and hear stories of theirs. -

The CravenSpeed one is the one I went with, too. -

Looks great! I need to wax mine... There's too many chips and scratches to compete with yours, though. -
Finally got the courage to debadge her. At least the SEL part. Looks a lot cleaner. Can't decide if I wanna take off the Edge badge. Also got my back-up sensors fixed and replaced my rear wiper. Woot!

Mine definitely is a hard jerk, yours acts as I would expect it to, taz. My old car did the same thing. Automatic transmissions..

Photoshop Request: My Grille in Black Chrome.
wannabang replied to wannabang's topic in Exterior & Body
Thanks, I'm not so sure how well it will go with the blue and the chrome housings of the lights. metrorestyling has 12x12 sheets for $2 and was just gonna get one as a sample. -
2968 miles, how did the clear bra do?
wannabang replied to OnTheFence's topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
I should have thought about it before my trip from Ohio to Florida... So many dings and bugs left on the grill, bumper, and mirrors. -
My SEL had a sub-out. I have the first gen, though... and replaced my HU

Photoshop Request: My Grille in Black Chrome.
wannabang replied to wannabang's topic in Exterior & Body
A rep from lamin-x said he doesn't suggest using their product on anything but lights because they've received a number of complaints about their adhesive taking paint off. Are other films removable? -
Throw it on my WeatherTechs and clean it out when I feel like there's too many receipts or straw wrappers there. LOL

Photoshop Request: My Grille in Black Chrome.

Black Chrome Homemade Black Chrome, used a tint spray So could I just wrap it in window tint, since I think that's a more similar color to the wheels? LOL -
IA key programming
wannabang replied to sanche's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
The warning chime disable combination requires you to be in acc. Try it each way! The dealer charged me $125 for a spare, non-fob, programmed key. -
The only films I've found around me are Llumar, Johnson's, and Pride. I wonder if the guy who did my front windows would install it if I brought it to him, if I can order it myself.

Could someone photoshop my grille in Black Chrome. I think, like many, the chrome is kind of getting old, but my car is Dark Blue, so black really isn't an option I don't think. I have the gunmetal colored wheels, but I can't seem to find a gunmetal wrap, nor do I think it would look good on a grille. Thinking of getting black chrome wrap. Help? Unfortunately, I don't have a head-on picture of my car. Weird.

Well, the only place within 30 minutes of me with Airblue refuses to put it on my whole windshield, because it's illegal. Wants to charge me $325 to put it on the rear windows. That's insane! I wonder if they'd put illegal tint on my side windows. LOL So I guess I'm just getting a brow.

I'm anxious to see how you get this done. See my "Wishlist" in my sig? I've recently been thinking about the same thing, once I get the funds from my summer work. Both side panels in the rear have plenty of space for the ballasts, though. Honestly the trunk could have been a little bigger. Hah. At least in my first gen.

IA key programming
wannabang replied to sanche's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Because the dealer charges way too much? Check in your manual. I was reading it one night, but I was really tired. I swear it explained the combo of buttons that needed to be pressed to program a key. -
Adding stock sub to a SEL
wannabang replied to ravishingrocket's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Why do you need a grill on the sub? It's behind the plastic panel. I'm not sure that the "grill" in the trim does much. I'm pretty sure it'd sound similar with or without it, and unless you cut your own whole, I'm not sure you have any option but to buy the panel with the opening. -
Adding stock sub to a SEL
wannabang replied to ravishingrocket's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I guess you technically don't need an amp, as the other speakers in the car are running off the pre-amp in your head unit. In order to get the cone moving, you will need an amp, and the wires to power the amp and connect it to the head unit. Don't think you need a processor. I've never used one in the sub systems I've put together. -
Not sure what Ford put in mine, but I can only assume the recommended oil, and replaced my sticker that told me to come back in 5k miles. I usually get it done at a local Meineke, since the guys there are great, and for $20, I can't imagine they use synthetic, but I do every 3k for that. Anyone able to enlighten me?

Cellbine, I think I remember being told it was illegal there. I can tell you that the Llumar Air Blue 80 is pretty clear, or if you can find a film that is 60%, it will be fine. 80, I believe is the typical amount of light a window lets through, and if you leave the windshield untinted, the front two windows are much clearer because of all the light coming through the windshield. What's the penalty?

Looks good! 20%? You won't regret it, unless you back into unlit parking spots often.
