My XCAL2 box didn't work the first time on my edge. Superchips told me I had to upgrade to the XCAL3. No biggie, just a quick swap but after quite a few different tunes I couldn't get it to work perfectly. The car would still run but I had to clear a code for the tranny control module all the time.

Gonna sent it back to the top for the people who only look at the first 5 topics. This is the best mod for the edge. It is a totally different experience with a few tweaks here and there.

Average 21.5 70% highway 30% city. On trips its usually around 25-27. Love it.

ordered mine. hope the edge responds like our 04 focus did. that sucker picked up 5mpg after the filter swap! ONLY vehicle to ever gain mileage after mods haha.

sounds normal to me... going over mountain passes here in colorado, the tranny has to hunt quite often.

Way to go Fred. I have a tune from Torrie at unleashed and I think you are right about the 20-30HP gain. It's a totally different vehicle with a tune. All we need now is Tucker to make a CAI for it and Magnaflow to quit asking $800 for a catback system..... Weak

Just think of an engine like an air pump. You are trying to pump as much air as you can. You want to put as many Oxygen molecules in your cylinders on each stroke as you can. It has nothing to do with heat.

Cold air is more dense than warm air. You can pack more oxygen molecules per square inch into the cylinders the colder the intake air is. That is why cold air will produce more HP than warm air. It doesn't burn hotter or faster.

no... 35's are to big... you would totally kill your gear ratios and mpg. Probably be cruising 60 mph at idle... find us some super lite rims or something to reduce unsprung weight/rotating mass... that's what we need... not big ass tires...

Outlook is the exact same vehicle as the Acadia (minus a few luxury things that GMC puts in).

Jimmerz. Local numbers are still around 18-22. Highway numbers are from 22-29 (22=85mph and 29=55mph) I've seen a lot of 20+ mpg's hope yours gets better!

Jimmerz. You seem to be in the minority on this topic. You must have been unlucky and got the worst edge ever produced. We did a 450 mile trip to Denver and back over 4 mtn passes and averaged 24.8 MPG. Interstate driving was 75-85MPH. I was impressed.

jimmerz. You seem to be in the minority here. What was your avg MPH on all those tanks. I'll bet it was very low. Hope it gets better for you.

I think all you need is the radio to be SIRIUS compatible and then you just have to know the code for that radio. When you have those two, you can call SIRIUS yourself activate the radio. To answer your question though, I'm sure the dealer would be more than happy to install it for you since they will charge you $70/hr to do it.
