  1. Sorry, I only have the service manual for 2008. Here is what the wiring diagram for the visors are for a 2008 model year. The wiring in the headliner seems to be present. Some splicing may need to be done at each visor if the condition of the connector from the donor vehicle is unsuitable. I postulate that the wiring for a 2011 may be similar. 2. http://www.homelink.com/program/video Use these programming steps instead. Good Luck!
  3. The black box in the upper left corner of the picture you attached is the Fan Module. It takes a signal from the PCM to modulate the speed of the fans. http://www.syntheticoilhq.com/blog/ford-edge-cooling-fan-replacementpart-1video/ Step 4 of the instructions may mean that you'll need to break the connection of the upper radiator hose to the radiator. Good Luck, Ford Edge Cooling Fan RandR.pdf
  4. Dacmile You're welcome. The 3.5 ecoboost turbo motor that they put in the F-150 trucks is based on the same motor that they put in our Edges. There is a well documented test where Ford beat the ecoboost turbo engine through various torture trials and then tore down and inspected the engine in front of an audience. http://youtu.be/PG6xZ3e4_pI There are 6 parts I think. I think the industry is building "cartridge" engines that you unbolt from the transmission and toss. There are no user serviceable parts inside [or outside]. The wiring harnesses are all quick connect, there's a stretchy belt that you need a special tool to get on and off, the front of the motor is baby-butt smooth. No water pump or other driven stuff in sight. Just my 0.02 cents. I've got 103k on my engine. So far so good. I agree that yours should have held up a lot longer than 4300 miles. Good Luck.
  5. Hope this works for your model year. Good Luck. Ford Edge HVAC blend doors.pdf
  6. Jeff: There are two options, 1] with a towing package and 2] without the towing package. I've included both wiring diagrams here for your use. There is a fan module that is notorious for going out. It is down near the fans at the radiator. Good luck. Ford Edge Cooling Fan Wiring.pdf
  7. Here are some pictures. http://green.autoblog.com/photos/ford-ecoboost-3-5l/#photo-1002813 One of the pictures shows a front view of the engine. That 's the water pump behind the timing chain guides. There is another picture that shows the back of the water pump and impeller. The water pump may be available from a source other than Ford. Getting Ford to install it for you is another matter. There are also tons of used engines out there too, you may be able to buy and install for less than the cost to replace the water pump.
  8. Don't forget to disconnect the battery! You may set an SRS code if you don't and you may trigger the side airbag.
  9. This may be complicated. You have a limited, which means you [probably?] have memory mirrors. These mirrors are more complicated to troubleshoot than the non-memory ones. More than likely, it is a problem with the switch on the driver door. The next thing to check would be the mirror (bad motor or motors) and lastly the driver's seat module [DSM] where the "memory" for the mirror positions is stored. There is a remote possibility that the wiring may be at fault because of corrosion since it went through one bad winter, though I doubt this would be the culprit. Find a good independent mechanic. Give him the wiring diagram attached to this email. Worst case go to the stealer and have them read the fault codes stored on the DSM. The DSM module itself is beneath the driver's seat. My money's on the switch or the mirror. Since the right side is operative, there may be nothing wrong with the DSM. Good luck. Ford Edge Drivers Seat Module Wiring.pdf
  10. If the bulb isn't there, the wires may be.... These wiring diagrams are for a 2008. 2010 shouldn't be much different. Good luck. Ford Edge DASHBOARD WIRING.pdf Ford Edge Shifter Wiring.pdf
  11. Brad: Here is some information on the blend doors. There are 3 actuators for the basic system and 4 actuators for the dual zone system. If you're not getting heat despite full travel of the actuator, perhaps a linkage is loose or broken. I threw in information on the right one too. Good luck. Ford Edge HVAC blend doors.pdf

  13. You're right. I just drew the power from the power seat and used a relay triggered from the HVAC controls [output to fan]. When the car shuts off, so does the fan and so do the seats. Ford Edge Power Seats Wiring.pdf
  14. Why a switched power source? On my wife's X3, I connected it to the power seat circuit. The switch for the kit I bought did not have a separate "illumination" wire. Whose kit did you buy?
  15. Here are the bezel removal instructions according to Ford. You will need to remove a fender splash shield. I think you can probably turn the tire hard right to remove the left one and hard left to remove the right one. Looks simple enough. Let us know how it goes. Ford Edge Fog Light Bezel.pdf
  16. Maybe this will help. Note that it is the ground that is switched by the HVAC module. Good luck! Ford Edge Rear Defrost Wiring 2.pdf
  17. dolphinsc66: You are missing a coin holder tray. It goes front to back in the console. The notches in the front and the back of the console keep the tray in place. I use the clips in the lid to hold pens. The larger tray can also be used as a vertical partition using the slots at the bottom of the console
  18. Reflective tint would bounce away the solar radiation. I think that the dark color of the stock BAMR may actually absorb solar radiation. Some tints and films can be heat absorptive too. Agreed 3M is good stuff.
  19. Would you consider reflective? Or a UV tint?
  20. knute: If you have a lighted vanity mirror on the driver side, a visor from an edge with the homelink keypad can be installed. The homelink keypad is sourced from the light bulb in the vanity mirror. Even if you don't have a lighted driver side vanity mirror, the wiring may still be present for you to use.
  21. There is a cylinder head temperature sensor. It inputs a signal to the PCM and the PCM sends an output signal to the fan control module. The cylinder head temperature sensor is located slightly beneath the intake manifold on the right side [firewall side] of the engine. Fan "relays" are contained on the fan control module. I think the signal is analog or digital to vary the speed of the fans. The signal from the PCM is on pin#4 of the connector. Pin#1 is power, Pin #2 is ground. Pin #3 is not used. Good luck! 22. You may need new liftgate struts. Check eBay. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=ford+edge+liftgate
  23. The BT OBD adapter device works great. I use a program called TORQUE OBD reader. It's a free android app. I run it on my Motorola Razor phone and on my Motorola Xoom tablet. I threw a code this morning on my locking gas cap. Using the TORQUE app, I was able to read and clear the code. The data can also be stored and exported. Have fun.
